The problem is that there is an algorithm behind the key generation on Steam, your chances of hitting a specific key are of ~4.523e-22% or 1 in 221,073,919,720,733,357,899,776 (36 possibilities for 15 slots). You might have actually generated dozens of actually real keys but that are not currently active. Keys from Gift Cards and games are activated on purchase or generated for the latter. It is in fact possible that this may one day work, same as the Infinite Monkey Theorem.
@jader3907 When that becomes a thing, companies will just boost their possibilities with more steps and longer keys. It's always an uphill battle, computers have to become more powerful which costs billions of dollars in research to achieve and then they just make the code larger.... which is free
@jader3907 quantum computer has nothing to do with that, you need to take in account rate limits, accounts count, internet speed, and you need to be lucky since it's hard to both the key to be active and the checker to use it.
@jader3907then a cooldown will be added and 5 tries that will reset if you get it right
There is a simpler solution to this when security is the goal. It would be to personalize the keys for the user accounts.
So that key would be assigned to your account only and only you can activate it whenever you want. Only disadvantage would be that you couldnt share the key that easily which is not really a disadvantage. You could still share it when there would be a feature to transfer the key to someone elses account.
@@requestfx5585 that defeats the whole point of having keys, as a key isn't binded to any account, and as explained you will never achieve free keys with any type of super computer, as you can still limit keys check per account, per ip, or per fingerprint etc.
Imagine one of these keys go live at the same time the brute force hits it 😭

What you should do instead is to brute force the steam wallet code. You'll have a better chance of finding one. Since those code already exist for retailers and stores.
the problem with that is that the key needs to be activated by the store / online shop to actually be used
I've gotten gift cards before that literally didn't work because the store didn't do it right
Imagine you buy a steam wallet code, and then some dude with a randomizer uses it

Theoretically it is possible to generate a key, chance is just very low, it would easier to win a lottery
Well, for starters, Steam keys need to be verified and authenticated by Steam's servers. Any key generated by these tools won't be recognized by Steam and can't be activated. Also, activated keys are stored in a database managed by Valve. When you enter the key, Steam checks it against the database to make sure the key has A) been activated by Value and B) not already used and invalid. Even if both of those were the case, most of the "Steam key generators" don't follow Steam's key format.
You're honestly better off just buying the game from a third-party retailer or on when it goes on sale.

Doubt Steam's activation servers would even allow you to test that many random keys without restricting or limiting you in some way.

The thing is, there are no ready keys somewhere which you can guess, when the company wants to sell games on Steam they don't give game keys to Steam pre-handed. The key generates automatically when we buy the game and goes to our library.
@@ssata69 Its because they're buying alot and cheap prices then they flip it for profit, if you had a chance to guess it will be already sold code that is not activated which has 15 numbes and letters that is randonly generated and has 1/1 3*10^12 chance to guess. So good luck

one of the reasons the keys doesn't work is because the keys are only generated when a purchase is made.
The chance is so slim that you would have to do it for at least a couple of years to get a working steam key. Other than that, then there's not really anything else stopping you from succeeding besides time

i think they get activated only when someone purchased them , the merchant (g2a) signals steam/valve and tells them the key was purchased and valve activates it.
In store it literally says on every gift/wallet card that is null until activated at the till/register . That is my plausible explanation.

You are thinking right. Otherwise you just walk in and grab a netflix/xbox/psn gift card and just take a pic or activate it in the store without paying.

the thing on g2a is fake, g2a is not related with valve or steam, the users who sell the keys buy them from steam or whichever their supply is and add them on g2a, a key can't be disabled on steam games at least until purchase, and on PSN codes on stores they are just cardboards, you will get the code at checkout.
Yeah so even if the generator ends up working, all you're effectively doing is stealing something someone else bought but ended up not activating in time.

These algorithms for generating special key links for steam, discord etc., are purposefully made like that. The chances of you hitting a valid key is lesser than the chances of you getting struck by lightning, and I'm not joking, it is a fact.

There's 221,073,919,720,733,376,512,208 possible combinations of a steam serial key, so no wonder generators won't work
Including that you have to purchase the card before it can be redeemable, so it’s just the purchased but not redeemed codes.

The reason you can’t is because you don’t know what has been activated already. You would have to start at one combination and keep repeating that combo while still adding more keys. Something I think only a quantum computer can do.

I think these steam keys are generated in the server only when some dependencies exist in that form. When you pay for the game, it submits a request to the server, and then only you're getting this

There is silent key activation attempts threshold after which Steam will not recognize any even the correct ones. This is very clever mechanism.

It’s possible but chance is extremely low because there are 152,901,072,700,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. Steam keys
the problem is that steam blacklists you after attempting more than like 10 times in an hour or something. They don't tell you this, otherwise real hackers would then just swtich accounts/IPs/whatever. So you probably generated a few valid keys but could not redeem them because your account was blocked. This is pretty standard security protocol and the kind of attack you are doing is considered a "brute force attack".

If someone would figure out how these keys are "compiled" then it might work but right now only thing you can do is to just leave it or generate until you would went out of every combination possible
There are 36 characters + numbers in English alphabet, which means there are 36^15 steam codes for each game. That equals about 2.21*10^23 different combinations, so 55 billion times more than attempts.
It would be cheaper to just buy a game rather than keep running the program for so long

Honestly would have better luck generating passwords and using a list of random email addresses, in simpler terms, Steam has their keys under lock and key, while general users have their keys under the mat

Keys have changed & only become active after purchase.... you can still get keys but you have to have it run & snag the key that was activated & is like almost impossible when people are buying directly from steam. Steam Keys & gift cards from stores are also activated.... Same thing applys....
The real way to get a key isn't to gen and roll once with 4 billion keys but to keep rerolling them everyday.

This is theoretically possible but you need to run steam keys a lot faster to actually get it to work since steam keys need manual activation and the window is only a few seconds but when it comes to generating 4 billion keys and 26 million keys a day its more than likely 0.04% of those are actual steam keys and the window gets closed very quickly
