My Grandad used to tell me how Hughie Gallacher used to knock goalkeepers into the net when they caught the ball and regularly left centre halves with no front teeth, despite being only 5’5”. For me it’s between Big Dunc, Tommy Smith and Jimmy Case. The thing about Case was he was stone deaf and a very gifted midfielder. He was better than Souness in my opinion. Tommy Smith was intimidation personified and Duncan Ferguson was a freight train of a centre forward.
Then again, if you go further back, you are spoilt for choice. My Grandad used to tell me how Hughie Gallacher used to knock goalkeepers into the net when they caught the ball and regularly left centre halves with no front teeth, despite being only 5’5”. He was like Joe Frazier crossed with Lionel Messi.
