I like how Keane stays quiet, then the conversation dies down and he says to Gary 'They won't win the league', fanning the flames of the argument, then slipping back into standby mode.
Absolutely, and he’s exactly right. No one cares if you have a couple of 5-0’s when you win the league and it can absolutely be put down as a freak result but this can’t because what’s been shown is that this UTD Team are not anywhere near the standard of teams like Liverpool or City when they play well. There’s actually nothing wrong with that, I just don’t know why Gary can’t admit it.

Shocking comment. Liverpool have been terrible this season, and United have pretty good since the disastrous start. That’s the first bad performance and result United have had since they got beaten by City. Not one single person on planet earth predicted that outcome before the match. Neville’s argument is based on United performances in the last 3 months, and says that’s enough to judge a team on…but he’ll gladly say Arsenal won’t win the league having been at the top of the table for nearly 100% of the season (much more than 3 months). He’s not a pundit, he’s a biased United fan throwing his toys out of the pram because they got absolutely out classed and out worked on the day. Nevermind the last 3 months, Liverpool didn’t play the United of 2 or 3 weeks ago, they played the team that showed up on the day and humiliated them. To be fair I get what Neville is saying. I also think that this was more of a case of Utd falling apart and everything falling Liverpool's way than Liverpool playing amazing football and I say that as a Liverpool fan. The fact that they scored 7 from an xG of 2.92 is more evidence of that.
I agree. As an Arsenal fan I can;t say I am on Neville's siode a lot but his argument isn't without merit. It would hold more sway if he didn't base his Arsenal arguments on years gone by rather than the last few months or this season so far.

Last break down the goals, 1st goal was well played, 2nd goal there was an element of luck with the rickshaws, the 3rd goal was well played, the 4th goal was lucky the way the ball dropped to Salah. After that point the players then dropped their heads, and the team became weak. The 2nd goal at the beginning of 2nd half derailed our attempts to get back in the game, and the 4th goal was a sucker punch, that then opened the floodgates. The better team won today, I do somewhat agree United was the better team in the first half, but the signs were there, that we are open at the back.
Keane just sat enjoying seeing his friend dig a hole for himself, one he knows he won’t climb out of.

As a United fan, the only game that reminded me of was when we beat Arsenal 8-2 back in 2011. Liverpool scored from virtually every chance they created in the same way we did that day. Make no mistake, Liverpool produced some excellent attacking play yesterday, but it takes two to tango and United weren't up to it.
Difference was the United team that won 8-2 was actually very good team, this liverpool team is battling for Europe right now

I agree with both of them, just I think they are using different meanings of it being a 'freak' result. Certainly its a freak because if they redo that match, its rarely gonna be 7-0, but its not a freak result if you think about the team and past results as a whole, where it has happened against other teams

I hate losing and I hate getting thrashed by liverpool. But Fulham is the only team we have beaten away that are in the top half of the table. I think we are improving and ETH is the right man. I think it’s easy to get carried away with a good run of results just like when we were all singing ole’s at the wheel a few years ago. We just don’t like being humbled by liverpool and that’s what hurts
