- Jeff St.John a.k.a. Jeffrey Leo Newton is an Australian Singer, Songwriter and Author born April 22, 1946 in Newtown, Sydney who apart from having to sit while he sang due to spina bifida, was as "Rock'in" as ANY Singer of this 60 -70's Era.
Jeff almost became a Chemist after an Uncle's advice but the gift and the calling to sing was to much for Jeff who followed his dream.
Jeff has been involved with organizations such as MOSAIC which are bringing public awareness to the condition which is due to lack of folate in the mothers diet whilst the baby is in early utero, totally preventable with a supervised nutritionally balanced diet of the expecting mum and her extra vit/min requirements met fully daily.
Jeff sang the Australian National Anthem at the Sydney Para-Olympics in Sydney in 2000.
Where & when this was filmed I have no idea, if you know please let me know & i'll amend the description, cheers

For the record, this was recorded at the ABC Gore Hill Studios in mid-1975, one of three tracks recorded that morning for broadcast on GTK. The other tracks put down were Jeff's new single 'Mr James' and a Richard Clapton composition 'Prodigal Children'. The session was indeed recorded 'live', though the audience consisted of twenty or so ABC employees on their coffee break!
I was the bass player. I last saw this clip on GTK over 40 years ago, in my then-girlfriend's living room on her parent's brand new colour TV, so it brought back a few memories to say the least. Thanks for uploading it.
And I was the lead guitarist - Jeff was amazing - a great talent -

Priceless memory! Thanks for sharing @bruiser3601
One of the best voices ever to come out of Australia.
Had the honour of playing with Jeff and opening for his shows in a band with John Jarratt
Thanks for the video to one of Australia's best singers
That voice, that power - he didn't need anyone to teach him how to fly!
RIP Jeff.
One of THE great voices, not just Australian.
I saw Jeff do this live... unforgettable...he rocked out in his wheelchair.... He gave it all as a 13 year old...I was blown away...!💥😎

Copperwine were an awesome act in their day.
Saw them at Prince Alfreds Brisbane.
Unbelievable version of Cloud Nine.
Great persona, with a quest. How does one quest?
Oh. My. Lord. The end
I'm sure that's Jim Duke-Younge from Pirana on drums.
Though he did look a bit like Jim, Red Cloud's drummer was the late Neil 'Buddy' Bamford, formerly the drummer with Autumn.
