I live in Prince Edward Island, Canada and last year my dog had led me to a stoat baby that she had found. It was unharmed although wet with her holding it in her mouth. The dog is an Australian Shepherd for what that's worth. The baby still had it's eye closed. I picked it up and dried it off a bit and considered what to do with it. While I was standing about near my barn I noticed the adult that I knew lived here rushing around with what seemed to be a frantic attitude. So I placed the baby on a pile of hay on the barn floor and left the room. When I returned a half hour later it was gone and I assume it was taken away by the adult. They are extremely beautiful and endearing animals and I believe they're useful for controlling the mouse population. Aside from that I just like them.
@James Jarrett If you do it right, there won't be any problem. Usually you keep them only until they are healthy or old enough, when abandoned by their mother. It's better not to give them food out of your hands or touch them though, or they will get used to humans too much and go too other people for food when released. Edit: I just read more about stouts and they loose interest in human contact when getting older, so it's ok to touch and hand raise them when little, but for most animals you shouldn't do that when you want to rehabilitate them. :)

I just spent two hours this morning watching a long tailed weasel trying to go after a mother quail and her chicks, making use of gopher and vole tunnels, popping in and out. But she stood up to him and I couldn't help cheering for her, with only two babies left, somebody already got a few. Been working in wildlife rehab all my life and the mustelids have long been favorites. Always happy to see them in the wild. This year the voles and gophers have been especially hard on my poor garden and along comes the solution! Although given a choice, I know this solution will prefer birds. This one was perhaps young enough, and maybe not hungry enough to entirely take on an angry mother quail. Wonderfully entertaining little creatures are weasels. (Pacific Northwest) Thank you for your videos.
Hi from Sweden. I just found your UA-cam channel and I love it. It’s so great to see how you’re doing everything to get them out in the wild and not let them be pets. 🙂❤️
thank you for taking such amazing care of these two goobers, and letting us watch em grow over the weeks :) was so glad that the duo wound up getting along in the end and didn't fight after the first few "i'm scared of you!" screams from the more timid little one. :) hope that by now they're both out in the wild, or getting close to it! (i'd be too attached to em as the handler, haha!) :)
ROBERT FULLER you are an absolutely amazing man, I love how cautious and gentle you are with the animals.... You are very talented too,.. I just adore you and your channel!!Thankyou...--Amanda from Waukesha, WI,USA
Stoats and ferrets are amazingly bendy and they do indeed look like they flow rather than run. The bendiness helps them navigate tight tunnels and even double back on themselves somewhere most animals would just have to reverse.
Glad you kept Stuart’s name, we had a cat abandoned at my country home and the kids named it Roy- it ended up that it was a “she”and we were best friends for twelve years
This is the quality content I signed up for!! But man, it's probably hard sometimes to let these little cuties go and not get too attached. Even though they're wild and your doing the best by rehabilitating them for release back into the wild and limiting your contact... i would just want to love and cuddle those weasels (stoats) and wind up ruining them for release 😩 You're doing such a great job 👍
@@emmiii-ir3qe Extraordinarily. They do look really cute and they are endearing animals but all mustelids are powerful hunters. I once watched a weasel, which is quite a bit smaller than these stoats, kill a large rabbit much much bigger than it was. I can't say I enjoyed watching it but it was amazing to see such a small animal kill something so much bigger. If these were even just the size of a small dog, they would be very dangerous.
He looks so cute! I've just been watching a documentary on stoats (David Attenborough). They are nasty little things in the wild! They will even kill each other when they are not killing rabbits (twice their size) and carry it back to its nest for the 'kids' to eat.
They sure have grown. Such lovely creatures!! I love what you've done with their house outdoors. I noticed a knob in the nest... is that for temperature?? I'm excited you put camera's in there ... excited to see more. How is Solo??
How will they learn to hunt and kill. Avoid dangers? Differentiate between good and bad things to eat? Skills usually taught by watching parents. But you are doing a great job. And I'm sure with such a knowledable 'guardian' their return to the wild will be successful.
I hope you've enjoyed the video!

Fangolio Wonderful story. Greetings from a Canadian in Berlin!
Agree. They make great neighbours.
And we hope you are happier someday! lol
I'm glad that there's a process and it's not just YEET, back to the woods.

I really need to know how they liked the outdoor enclosure
You have to give us an update soon!
You can see them live in the stream of the stoat enclosure you can watch them play. You might also see Bandita and her kits and Chester the Weasel.
He uploaded an update video.
I can't stop watching these two little ones!
Oh my goodness....just too precious

I love the way he's gradually introducing the world as a place he's working so hard to return them to some day.
They are fun to watch, I would love to see them exploring their new enclosure. 😀
That'll be coming out soon
@@RobertEFuller how soon? Definitely not 4 weeks.
we need tiny go pros on them 😂
You said it correct enclosure... these animals belong in the wild.. but i enjoyed watching them

Ha ha ha that was sooooo cute!
Stuart was slippery!! Now you have
"two stoats in a bag"! Lol hilarious.
Should be an expression.
nothing as satisfying and heartwarming as watching animals play around ^^
This series of these two has been awesome...

I shall be sorry to see this adorable pair go but also happy they will be back where they truly belong - in the wild.
That's a nice set up for those cute little critters!😊
Perfectly beautiful Robert. Thank you sincerely!
You have done such great work with all the animals and birds you work with. I love your videos.
This little guy is soooo adorable 😍
Well Done 🤝🏻 just two adorable stoat kits
They are so cute!! What a wonderful experience!!
Those are two very lucky stoats. Also very cute. You are doing a great thing to give them a headstart in their new life.
"Two stoats in a bag" is the name of my new band.
@Alex Undiscovery
Lol, except that people might think they're being called stoats and the clothing article is the bag!! 😂😂
Or a awful pick up line, she was not impressed at all😔
Love it ☺️
thanks for sharing the adventures of these young weasels.
Just saw this video and had to go back and watch the stoats from the beginning. So cool. What a genius set up outdoors with cameras and all.

Amazing that Whisper just climbed up to you! Strong imprinting.
They are so cute. Their mouths are long, huge smiles! Look forward to seeing them in the new pen. Thanks for sharing.
Oh my! Now you've let the stoats out of the bag!!!
Catching small bitey animals is always fun.
Amazing how stone cold killers of the animal kingdom are always so cute.
with some notable exceptions *coughrocodiles cough*
@@studyeye Crocs are cute too. :-/

MORE PLEASE! I just found your channel and Whisper! I need more!

Fantastic! Thank you Robert.
Fascinating, how miniature they are and fluid -- you have a cool setup there and a stage by stage plan to get them from A to B.

I love watching the 3 cuties in this video - Such a sweet and caring video
I would luv to see video of them in there new place playing together and exploring it!!
I really want to hug them.
Absolutely adorable! And not easy to catch LOL
That Stuart was a right menace

THOSE ARE CUTE MINI WEASELS! 😍😍
Adorable creatures!
Wonderful!, Thankyou!
So cute❤❤
Ten out of ten on the Cute-ometer.
Nature sure has a way with making cute little floofballs into vicious killing machines
TheKisj: Such is the way our planet works. One moment your cat can be one adorable fluff ball, the next they can be clawing your eyes out.
Are they really that vicious?
rose 2: Yes...to an unholy extent that isn’t possible.

I'm sure one will be weasily found.
CARLOS!
😂😂😂😂😂
They sure are cute little guys...
After you put on the glass top, what are the other materials you used to put them on top? And why?
I put perspex on first, to keep them from getting out from the top, then lights, and other materials to weigh it down and stop water getting in.
@@RobertEFuller Ah ok, but what about oxygen? Those little stoats need to breathe! :p
Must be hard to rehabilitate such cutes creatures you saw growing.
I love seeing ermine/stoats around my garden and even in my workshop. They are the most adorable rodent predator around.
Wholesome stuff
Would love to get an update on these two mischievous characters
so would I
They are so cute. They kinda look like my cat spike. He has shriveled ears and walks arched up.
great to see thank
Can we get an update on the stoats please?
My chipmunks are every bit as cute as these and not at all vicious!!
I would love to see an update on this two 🖤
