Very nice! I’ve never seen holes like those on a bug! Maybe they where added later! But who I’m I to guess! Looking forward to seeing more updates! Nice job!👌😎👍
I have the answer you been looking for about the 3 inch holes under the dash on the fender wells. There was a fresh air ventilation kit that included two louvered registers, two high end plastic preformed tubes, two large straps to hold the tubes in place to keep the tires from rubbing while turning, hardware, instructions and a large pattern to make the 3 inch holes on the fender wells. So picture this, the louvered registers mounts in the fender well holes. The The tube mount on the other side of the register held together by two screws. I believe there was some type of gasket to keep the connections from leaking. The other end of the tube mounted to the front of the fender where the oval chrome grill is located. If you didn't want to use the vent wing windows for ventilation, you just open the registers and the fresh air would rush in. This kit only works on 1962 to 1967 beetles. I was going to get one for my 65 bug but change my mind at the last minute. That's the story. I don't have the 65 bug anymore but I do own a 1970 bug and a 2009 Crown Vic. They get along just fine. I love your videos, keep up the great work. Oh by the way, that foot switch on the left side of the pedals is your HI/Low beam headlight switch, just FYI. 🙂
Thanks - I seem to have to do a bunch of random things to feel good about the progress - but thank god the body bolt fiasco is over. I will smear on a bunch of seam sealer on all the gaps and be done with it…
Ok. That means I gotta plug the fender holes, and possibly just use the dash hole for a cigarette lighter if the one I ordered can be made to fit…. Thanks for the info!

Ok, I’ll have to cap those holes - they were so perfectly round that I didn’t know what they were there for…

Thanks for the info! Sounds like I need to fabricate two covers for those holes and put them in place with a good seal.
Enjoying the content. The bug is looking great. ✌

@@LarsonSplitBus- use candle wax to smooth the ash tray action. Those holes in the inner fender and dashboard could be from p.o. stereo installation.
Those holes in the fender wells and on the dash are not supposed to be there. Really enjoy your videos.

Ok, I’ll plug them up on the wheel side with a bunch of gasket maker…
Man those holes possibly the aftermarket crotch cooler holes
What is an aftermarket crotch cooler - whose crotch even gets that hot?
@@LarsonSplitBus- yup Uni-vents was what they were called
👍
Thanks Hector - this is sometimes a huge pain in the ass, but then once you complete that part, you forget all about it and move on…
