Underrated cars these, even here in Italy. The reason is they're pricey, but rather than spending that money on flashy things like LED headlights which draw customers into showrooms, Alfa took the passionate way out and spent that money on motorsports derived technology like the carbonfibre driveshaft. You certainly won't find that on an Audi! Not even one costing twice as much. There are also useful touches like the digitally controlled indicator stalk that returns to centre; this means it won't reset prematurely like a mechanical one if you turn the wheel and turn it back slightly before making the actual turn. Ironically BMW used to use this technology and it was super useful in my E89. Not once did the indicators fail to almost telepathically predict what I was doing. I had a Golf GTE VI after and the mechanical indicator stalk drove me nuts, prematurely resetting constantly. It sounds like a minor gripe, but eventually I came to hate it. And if you buy a Maserati, you get Chrysler stalks, not these slick Alfa ones. Both Alfa and Maserati used to make illuminated stalks incidentally, a rare thing indeed. Ok enough geeky facts. Reliability has been the big question mark on the Giulia. As usual there are some horror stories, but also some stories of 100% reliability. The truth is somewhere in between, again as usual. Most German cars certainly aren't reliable or particularly well built, not for a long time now. Only the Japanese are obsessive about reliability. I'd rather have this.
That car is stunning. I am partial to that blue as my Jeep Wrangler is the same color. Prepare for the stream of strangers commenting on it. It is beautiful, enjoy it.
Having owned one of the pre facelift models from new what a car! Alfa are back in the game miss the Giulia so much, have a Stelvio now and 595 abarth comp great video Nick would be great to get some content on the car 6 month review form Jonno as it’s his first Alfa!
That's a splendid color and those new wheels are fantastic! I own a 2019 Veloce and love every minute of it. This car will make you happy every day. Cheers! The 0-60 has been from 4.7 to 5.1 on average from multiple road tests and magazines. Its much faster than people realize.
Ah, they didnt mention how incredible the steering is, it maneuvers like a friggin ballerina. Also, 8 speed ZF gearbox and was the safest or 2nd safest 4 door sedan when released, im sure its still up there with Tesla. Just genuinely an incredible car, co-designed with Ferrari. Also prop shaft is carbon fiber, and the whole car is like 90 something % aluminium, which is how they cut the weight down so much.

This is the sort of car you need to enjoy while you're still allowed. Considering the Alfa Giulia Veloce is about the same price as a boring, ugly Nissan Leaf, the choice should be obvious.
These cars are awesome, perfect looks and very good to drive. More people should buy Alfa, they doesn’t know what they are missing. I own a Giulia veloce q4 TI and it’s just the best 👍
Personally not too keen on the colour to be absolutely honest but a massive thumbs up to the owner for deciding to buy something other than the equivalent Audi or BMW. It might unfortunately ultimately hurt a bit on the residual values when selling on comes around but a great car nevertheless. During the 80’s I was the happy owner of two Alfa Sud’s and in the 90’s a 159 and 147. Despite a poor reliability and build quality reputation in those earlier days Alfa Romeo have since really got their act together to produce a fantastic range of cars.
I have just bought a petrol car after 20 years of diesels. It’s so smooth, but as mentioned in your vlog, you have to rev the engine much more. I feel I’m learning to drive again. Enjoyed this one Nick.
They use way less petrol than they used to as well. Driven sensibly, they don't lose out on economy compared to a diesel as much as they used to. A diesel only really makes sense if you're driving at least 30 miles a day IMO
This car is great. I just went to check the underside on mine and noticed that it is nearly fully flat / enclosed. Even the rear bumper is closed of to reduce turbolence (and I have only a sprint diesel)... This car has actively ventilated brake discs on the lowest spec engine. And a near flat floor.... Carbon driveshaft and (nearly) 50/50 weight distribution (as it is a diesel). This is by all means a sportscar in disguise. Long story short... I ordered the working rear Diffusor for my car... Less drag, increases efficiency even further and the added benefit of a little more downforce does not hurt... Compared to the German competition, this car is a different Level when it comes to mechanical efficiency, grip and cornering speed.
Really enjoyable review, friendly presenter makes you feel like you’re part of the video. I’ve got the same car, in red. Just pre-facelift but an amazing bargain, brand-new and they knocked about seven grand off the price. It’s a tremendous car, such a joy to drive.
Congratulations. You will love the car. My old Alfa Romeo GT has been way more reliable than my Mercedes C-class. Even if the Alfa Romeo was older with more kilometers on the clock. So now the GT is gone and replaced with a Misano Blu Giulia 280HP Q4.
Got the 2018 q2, same colour but black sunroof and with split diamond cut fork 19in alloys. Beautiful car, amazing to drive and not a boring German saloon.
I have the exact same car exact color but with yellow brake calipers. You are gonna love this car the steering response is phenomenal and it’s wonderful to drive with the Ferrari paddle shifters. You will get tons of compliments as well. Congrats 🎉🎊🎈🍾 👍

I currently have an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrafoglio in red that I bought new in 2016, just under 28,000 on the clock, never missed a beat, nothing has broken or fallen off but time to move it on, never owned a car for this long!! Just need to work on my wife!!😂😂 Enjoy and have fun!!😷
I considered one of these before going for a Lexus RC coupe as I'd done all the German stuff.I was nervous about the reputation on reliability but a few month later they improved the warranty etc which would have changed my mind.Still v happy with my much slower RC but these are special

Great bloke, nice simple review and an impressive car. Attention to detail is getting there now on the Alfa’s, almost as good as the Germans...almost.😉 Judging by the plate, I take it he’s a Star Wars fan (wookiee)? My preference would of been more reserved stealth colours like the Vesuvio Gray or Vulcano Black, you have to be careful with bright colours you can look like your having a mid life crisis.
Absolutely wonderful machina! I have had several Alfa’s since my first a Spider I bought whilst working in Italy in the mid 70’s. I love them. Now I am nearly rid of the family wagons as all my kids are equipped with their own I am just about to place my order for a SPORTING RED colour Quadrifoglio Stelvio. Can’t wait auto obvs but has the paddles as well. Black and red leather. Let’s hope I get it by Sept! For me I just love Alfa’s in sporting red, their own red off the Alfa palette. I was thinking of getting an M340 - but now I've seen this I'm thinking I'd rather have some Italian juiciness. I used to have a 156 Sport 3 back in the day and it was a lovely chunk of motor with all the usual Alfa foibles. This one might be the Alfa moment when you don't have to be a complete moron to get one.

Bought my Veloce in 2017 brand new in Misano, blue as in the video above . 26.000 miles so far.......not one problem in over 3 years! It's quick, smooth and the sharpest steering you'll ever feel, Highly recommended, absolute joy....love this car!!
