- The New Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce is the Italian brand’s answer to the BMW 3 Series, the Mercedes C-Class, the Audi A4 and the Jaguar XE. When it comes to the driving dynamics, Alfa has literally smashed it out of the ball park on their first attempt with this car. The Giulia Veloce is a real driver’s car. The seating position is superb, steering fantastically quick with superb balance and a much more driver friendly feeling than the aforementioned. The Alfa Giulia’s suspension and steering setup, comprise a double wishbone up front and a four-arm layout for the rear axle, which makes it ride incredibly well. So, whilst the Giulia Quadrifoglio might be the pin up dream car, the Veloce could be the perfect stop gap. It offers fantastic performance to enjoy on the road and a genuine split personality, thanks to Alfa’s ‘DNA’ dial. In N-for-Normal mode it feels settled and easygoing, then switching to D-for-Dynamic draws out its heritage. Throttle response is sharper, the adaptive dampers stiffen and the systems allow more slip, I doubt you’ll want for more in a family saloon.

Cheets AJ. My exact car. Got it August 2020, had the previous gen 2019 vulcano 200bhp supersport before it. The improvements in tech and cabin are superb. The performance and handling are simply epic. My wife's Bmw G20 330i msport pro? Nah, I take the Veloce everyday, makes you feel special! Wonderful machine.

I sat in one for the first time yesterday and fell in love with it but I’m a bit worried about the car constantly breaking down on on me… (looking at the sport and maybe the veloce if I can stretch the $$$). trading in my FK2 type R for this i think as type r is just too aggresuive and unforgiving for a daily drive, this however looks great..

Great video! Entertaining as usual - but also full of practical detail. One question though, if I may. Adaptive Suspension was mentioned a few times, but is it part of the Veloce as standard, or is it part of the “Performance Pack” which is an expensive extra on the Veloce?

Firstly many thanks for your comment. Adaptive suspension isnt standard. Check with sales guys for more info on the cost etc
I have misano blue 68 plate Veloce, sunroof, 19inch diamond cut spoke alloys, yellow brakes, Harmon kardon stereo, leather dash (BIG improvement over standard dash) and best of all the sports pack lsd with active suspension Q2 badge.
It’s a wonderful car and I still get nice comments even today, beautiful car and plenty quick enough. With the dynamic setting and adaptive dampers on its wonderful on country lanes.
Wonderful wonderful car, I may never sell it.
I picked one up a couple of weeks ago, and just did a 600km round trip to Canberra from Sydney. I want to do the trip again the drive was so good.

Question: I read somewhere on Giulia forum that Giulia from 2020 and up are preferable because the ones from the earlier years had small issues which got corrected from 2020 onwards, how much would u agree with this?
I’m interested in purchasing a second hand one, I can only afford models till 2020.

A good bit OTT in the dynamic mode. Come on. I have a 2018 veloce, it nicely tightens the steering and is well growly but I found your reaction to it a tad silly. Otherwise good review, just cool the jets a bit
I was in love with my Giulia and Alfa Romeo as a brand, however, I will never again buy/recommend another Alfa Romeo in my life. I had the brake by wire system fail on me and it caused me to crash and total the car. They sent someone from Bosch to diagnose the vehicle and in the charts it clearly showed that something malfunctioned (brakes were slammed 2 seconds before the impact at 40 MPH and it took more than 1.5 seconds for the speed to start going down.) Stellantis told me that they were not going to take responsibility for it and that I needed to have my insurance pay for the vehicle. Absolute garbage. I will never recommend this car brand to anyone again! Buy an AUDI, BMW or Mercedes instead.
