Unfortunately, not enough clearance. Boats still under warranty so we are waiting on Invincible’s reply for a permanent fix. Thanks for your response. Subscribe and stay tuned for more great videos.
get some towels or something to put your tools on instead of the gel coat when i started service, customers would say how good the previous guy was while i was there fixing his screw up most people have no clue what you are doing to fix the problem and will more likely judge you on how clean you are while working and the care shown to their property
Congrats on your new channel. Your editing and camera work is pretty good for just starting. One question on the repair, could you have used an Oetiker clamp to secure the fuel fitting or is there not enough clearance?
Hi and thanks for asking a great question… unfortunately there’s not enough room. It have a micro screen on the bottom of the tube wrapped around the edges of the tube but barely fits through the opening and that clamp you’re referring to will have a larger diameter, even though it is a very low profile clamp.
Plastic pickup tube was when it was built and remains a Bad Design. The sloshing fuel within the tank will cause this problem to happen again and again as the fuel in the tank pushes the pickup tube back and forth the looseness at the fitting is sure to return again and again. It really needs a solid metal pickup tube along with solid metal fitting connecting it to the elbow fitting. Once the pickup up tube gets loose the engines are sucking air instead of sucking fuel.
I once had a Jeep Grand Cherokee that had a stumble. Mechanic sold some useless parts. Removed the fuel tank and there was a 2 inch piece of rubber fuel line that mushy like a piece of gum on a pickup inside. That was the issue. Went back to the shop and the owner offered me a job. Said no thanks! Good diagnostics on figuring this out. Hopefully Invincible/Mercury come up with a solution!
That would be great but no room to do that. 1/32 clearance around the tub and hole diameter. Invincible supposed to send an updated set of tubes.👍. Thx
A more permanent repair/fix/design would be either Stainless Steel or an aluminum pick up design that is permanently attached (welded) to the 90° fitting that screws into the top of the tank fitting. Or if they’re going to keep the poly tubes, they (Invincible) should at least have a fitting that has multiple barbs on it rather than a single barb with a short sleeve. IMO. 😎
Hi! Have you contacted service at Invincible? Those tanks are pressure tested before they leave the factory & need to be pressure tested again once any seals are broken.
Cool video and great description. Pull them out take to a fabricator and have them fashioned out of a complete welded stainless set up. For the price of the boat and it’s capability to offshore, that is the proper fix. If the tube completely drops off in the ocean, that’s bad. Friction fit for anything on an ocean going boat is a bad design.
Completely agree, Murphy’s law! Hard to believe that’s how it’s designed and installed. With all the vibration and pounding a boat takes I’d never be comfortable with that design.
You have to realize that the guys designing and building that boat get the same pay as those who design and build the low end boats. It doesn’t matter how much you pay for the boat, you’re going to find shoddy work and shortcuts taken. Bottom line is always the issue.
Oh yeah, she’s a big environmentalist running a freaking invincible, 40 with four mercury outboards, but she can sit in protester big mouth about going electric
I had a pick up tube issue on my starboard center. and mine is a 2023 35 cat
They should use a pex type fitting. At least it would fit tighter.
Should have Band -It on the fitting.

First video and already knows the effect of click bait. Well done.
Great 1st video. Keep up the good work.
subbed!! love to see new genres of youtube
Taylor Swift is not the owner of that boat. Click bait to start a new channel is not a great way to start.
Very nice video.. Looking forward to more videos!!
Thank you. One video a week right now.

@@skylee007 What does this have to do with Taylor Swift? Please don't start your channel by lying to your audience.
Is the boat's name "Taylor Swifts"? If so, you should state that.

The old "Taylor Swift" click bait trick! That's it!! Next video I make, I'm saying Pam Anderson is fishing with me. lol
Plastic gas tanks??? Known issue.
New channel I subbed!! Good luck
Play some rock and roll

As they say in show biz...'break a leg'!
So a zip tie and cut the tube 1/2” lower for a tight fit. Stainless steel wire would tighten it also.
That would be great but no room to do that. 1/32 clearance around the tub and hole diameter. Invincible supposed to send an updated set of tubes.👍. Thx
hard to believe they would do that in a high end boat.
Confused lol is that Taylor Swift boat? Or is that the manufacturer lol
Name of the boat.
Manufacturer is Invincible.
Odd name for company. Great video BTW
Click bait title, lol... Genius for his first video.
Pretty poor design right there
That looks almost like 1/2" pex pipe. Could you put a ring on it?
Unfortunately, there is not enough room to put any kind of clamp or ring on it.
Watched a video with delamination
It sounds like this was a known issue that Invincible has.
It’s definitely an issue, and if it wasn’t known before, it’s known now!
No clamp? Appears to be a safety issue. I can't believe all fuel lines are not double clamped.
I agree
I think if it was clamped, he couldn't get the tube back into the tank. Really thoughtless design IMO.
What's a more permanent fix? Can a stronger tube be used?

@@skylee007 Thanks.
@@BOSS_DOG I think invincible should be checking it out

Yes
@@boatworx6415 cool
Question, all tho you cut the sysin line and put the head back on could you add a screw clamp for extra strength?
No clearance .
No clearance .
by cutting the tube shorter that side will run out of gas sooner than the other tanks.
Both starboard and port have all been equally cut now. But you were right.
Watch playing that music, you tube will give you a Copyright strike. Cant play music on videos unless you are performing it.😞😞😞
Thank you for the heads up on that
Get some stainless steel pickups fabbed
