I also use kayaks for duck hunting but I primarily use it as a mode of transportation. I’ll put the kayaks away from where I plan on setting up. Also, I keep a couple bundles of burlap in the front hatch that I use to cover the kayaks and then I brush it in with natural vegetation. I then usually do like you do in your walk in public hunts and do a make shift natural blind. Stoked to see more kayak hunts this season 👍🏻
I both hunt out of a kayak in a couple ways, just pulled into heavy cover, or used as a layout blind, or as a mode of transportation. Old Towne Predator 14'. I show the setup in this video at about the 5:30 time you can see how well you can hide the kayak in an open field. ua-cam.com/video/VkTUhBI5VVw/v-deo.html . You can see it (or not) at around 4:25 of this video, hidden in a flooded wheat field I paddled into. ua-cam.com/video/9T7KBF6Uj_k/v-deo.html . Kayak as transport. Shooting from shore close to kayak, and from kayak itself. ua-cam.com/video/s2S2XaiBojY/v-deo.html
Old Towne K140 predator. Basically a two man converted to a hunting one man kayak. I can easily fit 24 to 30 decoys behind me, and more in front, and all my gear as well. Tracks really well and I use it both for transportation, to hunt out of, and even to use as a layout blind in the field. Very versatile. Not a converted fan for the sit-on types.
Used camouflage blankets buddy they work the best for duck hunting on your kayak that's what I use I had a great season this year got my limit in Delaware six ducks 1 Mallard would have been 1 pintail to 3 green Wing teal 1 Mallard hen kayak duck hunting is fun good luck to you when you ever go hunting have fun signing out the Duck Commander
Well done . I have to hunt public land and it's hard to get the birds in , so many hunters . I had to invent a automatic jerk string that you can set up from you canoe only takes 5 min to set up . The birds love it , works wonders wouldn't go hunting with out it .
I tow my sled behind me to take more decoys, make sure it is linked tight behind you otherwise it can throw off the tracking of your kayak. Like others have said a push pole is nice in the thick stuff, I just turn my paddle on end and use it as a push pole if it is too thick to paddle. Makes for less weight to have to paddle out. My kayak has fishing rod holders that I use to put my robo duck on its pole so it doesn't get wet from splashing. That layout blind makes your hide way better than mine however!
I also hunt out of a kayak down here on the Texas coast. Two dozen dekes and a mojo gets it done. Throw a rudder kit on that topwater and it'll make a world of difference, especially in windy conditions. Great vid man. Looking forward to the next one.
Nice job , I totally remember my first kayak duck hunting . And its still to this day my favorite way to do it even over the 16’ duck boat . Keep it up love the kayak videos
Put a small notch on one edge of each paddle (hook shaped). You can then use your paddle as a hook to retrieve the decoy string. The paddle will give you more distance of reach. Helpful if a few decoys are in close radius of the kayak.
More kayak hunts....I purchased a Jackson Kilroy DT for this very reason. I even plan to use it for silent access to public land during deer season as well.
I have a kayak and have had the same idea but I was very sceptical about it especially if the kayak tipped over with me gear, but now that I see It works, I'll try it out
I use a beaver tail stealth 2000 with the layout blind that’s made for it. Holds two dozen decoys, gun and blind bag pretty easily. The only downfall to that particular vessel is that it’s around 150 pounds, so it sucks dragging it if you have to
Funny you say that about woodies; that's all I see here lol. Limits on those in my area can happen in 5 minutes haha. Good idea on the kayak; may have to invest in one for bigger bodies of water this season.
Throw a little rechargeble car battery (one of the smaller ones) in the front pocket and mount up some LED pods on the front of the kayak so you can have a little more light then using your headlamp.
Sweet video I have been looking forward to the video of the first hunt from your kayak to see how you did it love it man. You forgot to show us the decoy spread though lol all and all double thumbs up from me love the videos
Nothing against DUX Bobby is the man and Flair is okay. It's just really strange to see you in DUX apparel when you really want to be in Mallards Bro. Just my opinion nothing negative at all. Great video keep em coming and as always safe hunting Bro !!
Is that a blind built into the kayak? Just wondering because I’m starting school next fall and can’t bring myself to give up hunting. My school is in one of the best parts of Ontario and I’m going to need something to get around and hunt out of that I can actually afford. Love the videos man and appreciate any feedback
Never mind, the redhead one. That is what I was looking at getting if I cannot get my layout to work. I also have a Jackson that I won in a tournament but it is not as stable as my hobie. Just a tip, if you float creeks in the kayak you can slay woodies. I will post a video of it when my season starts.
Finding and hunting a good wood duck hole is probably some of the coolest waterfowl experiences I've ever had

Warren, we all know you save weight by only packing 12 shotgun shells to shoot your limit.

That's good eats. Here in East Texas woodies eat acorns so they have a great flavor and teal are always delicious.
Watched a ton of your videos and this is definitely my favorite. Keep it up with the kayak videos that was awesome

Wood ducks are jamming to eat.
More kayak hunts....I purchased a Jackson Kilroy DT for this very reason. I even plan to use it for silent access to public land during deer season as well.
A good tip for big water decoy set ups is get some rubber decoy line and I use pieces of rebar for cheap weights just cut rebar into 6 inch sections
Huge fan man! I’m pretty new to duck hunting, And you’re definitely a good source of information that’s a lot of fun to watch. Keep up the good work
Your right wood ducks are a very beautiful duck I have one on my wall
Get a jet sled and tow it behind you for your decoys.
Have a deer drag “sled”, found cheap eat Walmart, which floats very nice and easily tows 2 dozen decoys behind the yak with very little drag
Dude that cajun crunch is brutal lol, I don't know I just can't bring myself to do it. Afraid of getting brains on my tongue.
Nice hunt man. Glad to see the kayak is working out.
I have a kayak and have had the same idea but I was very sceptical about it especially if the kayak tipped over with me gear, but now that I see It works, I'll try it out

I'd imagine a push pole would be nice for the thick stuff. I might sell my canoe for a kayak, seems like a really nice way to hunt.
Dang luucky. Not seeing many woodies in central TX yet. Very good eating. Nice hunt
I love your videos your shooting actually doesn’t give me anxiety like the others😂
I was huntin Cheyenne Bottoms last week they were flyin pretty much all day but a lot were ringers
You're the man my friend!
Got my eyes set for a kayak for my dog and me for next season that’ll give her and I a ton of new options
Funny you say that about woodies; that's all I see here lol. Limits on those in my area can happen in 5 minutes haha. Good idea on the kayak; may have to invest in one for bigger bodies of water this season.
T maR same all the woodies you could ask for in nc wish I could kill half the mallards he does
I would mount the last woodduck you found
Throw a little rechargeble car battery (one of the smaller ones) in the front pocket and mount up some LED pods on the front of the kayak so you can have a little more light then using your headlamp.
Thats the plan!
@@OutdoorLimits what's up with the mallards this year bro? You need to collab with Bobby again soon!
Sweet video I have been looking forward to the video of the first hunt from your kayak to see how you did it love it man. You forgot to show us the decoy spread though lol all and all double thumbs up from me love the videos
you can clip a sled to the kayak so you can carry more stuff in?
Nice hunt dude!

Do you have problems with ducks flaring from your gopro blinking red light??
Nice vid man! Made me want to get a yak. You need some sort of gun rack/holder in there.
Keep up the work man your the best.
When layout hunting on water the birds look closer than they are, let them get in your lap. Good luck
When i kayak duck hunt i use texas rigged decoy strings and straps cleat to my y’all and clipped all the decoys on one rig and towed them like that
Good work keep it up man, love ur vids
A collapsible push pole might help in the thick grass rather than the paddle.
Momarsh sneak boats are stable and trolling motor work awsome. Also get a dog on it
I don't mind the ads
I don't mind the buffering
But when the ads buffer I suffer
How far do you normally trek to you spots when you are in the kayak?
What Kayak blind are you using with the 2 door flaps?
Love your vids bro learned a lot from them
This is exactly what i want to do
How about a review on those waders? are they the 3 in 1 Rogers?
yes. I did one
Is your kayak a sit in or sit on? I'm guessing sit on, but is it a special layout blind to fit in the kayak?
you need to get a mesh bag for your decoys then tie it off to the back of the kayak and drag it
Did that blind come with the kayak
What blind did you use for your kayak?
How do you mount your go pro on that pole behind you
what sitka are you wearing?
What state are you hunting in?
Loving it man
you can bait where you hunt???
What type of blind do you have for you kayak?
I believe he said it's a redhead, kayak blind.
Thank you

It’s a kayak blind make by bass pro
we pull our decoys behind our kayaks in ice fishing sleds
Was the a blind made for a kayak Josh?
Yes
Let them land, then jump them up if you can! It will improve accuracy and timing
Did u just put ur kayak in a layout blind or what is that man!!
So I have been wondering if my layout blind would fit my Hobie Pro Angler...
I used a kayak blind not a Layout
What blind is it?

Remeber Redneck Tv? How he roasted the hell out of you?
I have a similar set up, we need to colab
hell yeah #woodiesbro
josh is t h i c c
Now be nice
@@OutdoorLimits its a compliment bro you should be proud
Legit
put the decoys in a bag and drag them behind you
I use my kayak to jump shoot ducks in the rivers
You need to get a finisher bro stop Cajun crunching
What blind are you using on your kayak?
