It is better to shoot brighter at night and bring it down in post. I always assumed it but never heard anyone say it until this video. Thanks, that tip will be a life saver and highly reduce the noise that I have been seeing.
cool these vids were extra helpful to refresh my memory especially because i just had a 2 day lighting masterclass with stephen Mcnutt (director of photograpghy of battlestar galactica!!) Next you should show how to do a poormans car scene without actually moving the car....but instead have ppl rocking the car and have small spud lighting moving across looking like street lights and have larger lights in the backround with flags as cars moving past them, very helpful in indie movies!
just subscribed. What if you want to have the character get up and walk out the room, or up to the window. Do you put the lights outside aiming in through the windows? And if so, you would actually have to shoot at night, right? Thanks!

How do you take out the noise of that 400iso? the shoot looks noise free.
