The CN version is really great, unfortunately i don't understand a word in Chinese. I just began entering the Xiaomi Ecosystem and I'm very disappointed to see that the EU/Global versions are so limited compared to the CN versions.
I should have waited for your comparison before I bought one last month. Somehow, I regret buying since I thought I can somehow do what the CN version in the Global one. I should have saved up a little and just bought myself the Google Nest Hub.
I have CN version for a long time. Bought it only for Xiami doorbell and cameras. Too bad it's no way to switch it on English, just a menu :( Maybe they will add Mi Home in global version soon.
Hi, Thank you for a review! Just bought one but global version. As i understand it also can play videos from youtube but you need to turn it on from your mobile device. Regarding mi home app it also can control xiaomi mi home devices but you need to link mi home app with google home app. I am controlling my mi home devices using google assistant on my home mini right now. Want this clock to be my desk clock in bedroom. Nice to see forecast and calendar events in bedroom not getting up from the bed or taking up the phone ;)
I think that's kind of an apples-to-oranges comparison right now, as they have very different operating systems. Unfortunately, the OS on the Mi Smart Clock is not even the same as the one on Google's Nest Hubs, so it's a bit limited in what it can do. I actually have a Lenovo Smart Clock, which is practically similar to the Mi Smart Clock. I just use it for alarms, checking the time, reminders, and daily meetings. It's also unfortunate that the Mi Smart Clock can't control Xiaomi's IoT devices, BUT you can actually control lights using the Mi Smart Clock, IF (1) the Xiaomi smart device you want to control is also compatible with Google Home (i.e. Yeelights or newer Xiaomi LED Bulbs) , (2) you have your Mi Home account and devices added to the Google Home app, and (3) you have your Mi Smart Clock and your Xiaomi Smart device in the SAME room in Google Home. Once you have set this up in Google Home, an option to control lighting will appear in the swipe-down menu of the Mi Smart Clock. I accidentally discovered this while moving Xiaomi/Yeelight bulbs around my house. LOL.
I feel cheated. I bought from AliExpress thinking it would be able to hook up to security cameras and doorbell like it said on the advert. The model I bought was the X04G. Is this the model you are requesting?
CN version boot up first, because you plug it in powerbanc first. For real compare you need insert both in one power strip and insert it in the socket.
I think Xiaomi's smart home eco system is already strong enough for Xiaomi to make their own smart assistant for global market as it seems like its almost impossible for them to make their smart home devices for global market to be fully integrated in Google home.
I hope they make a bigger screen tas sana better speakers sana. A newer version of xiaomi smart clock wherein you can stream yt or netflix much better hehehhe
I've had some weird stuff happening to my clock. It used to show me the last 3 playlist I've played for my spotify. And now suddenly that page isn't visible anymore. Do you know any solution to make it show up again?
hi.. currenlt my xiaomi ecosystem is using chinese mainland server due to some old hardware.. can i use the google version to pair up using chinese mainland server?..
Hi, I also own a china version ai touch speaker but I am unable to play full songs as qq music needs to have subscription, do you know how to work around it?
Hello. Recently, by mistake I bought the chinese version of Xiaomi Mi Smart Clock (LX04) and I can not set language in Spanish, it doesn't have Google either. Is it possible to install it an Global version of the Firmware for my device?, I can’t use it this way, please help. Thanks in advance.
😁😅✌nag expect panaman ako na mas marami features ang global version than the Chinese version..pero nakita naman sa comparison mas accurate pa ang china brand and alot way more better than global brand.kaso lang sa di alam mag Chinese kaya bale wala lang😁.
(LX04 and X04G) They are exactly the same device. So I bought a China edition for Half the price of the global, then flashed the Global Google Assistant operating system onto my China speaker (LX04) and now I can call it in English. Global Google is much cleaner than Chinese though. So my LX04 (apart from a few buttons and the Chinese words on the bottom) is basically an X04G now. Of course, if you know Chinese you can also install the China System onto the Global X04G, but I can't even watch those iQiYi TV Shows because I'm not in mainland China now. The final result looks like this: ua-cam.com/video/zh51vfXJ504/v-deo.html
I have the chinese version and I only use it to watch a security camera, I wish I could use the assistant to get basic tasks like playing music or setting alarms, but I got it specifically to watch my front security camera, so I'm okay with that, there is also a "phone" option on the menu, but it only has my phone number registered, could you explain whats the actual function of that setting?.
Hi. I have xiaomi home security camera connected to my mi home app, basically my mi home app si set to global. Can i log in my mi access and view my security camera on a chinese version clock?
@@avador3 I have all my Xiaomi devices set to China Mainland (I'm in México) and that way everything works, I can watch all my Xiaomi cameras on the Chinese Clock, but you need to first set up the chinese clock app, not hard at all, then you can link it to Mi Home with the build in Mi Home icon in the clock, then you can control some Mi Home conected devices like cameras. The small screen is enough if you don't need to recognize faces, but if you need to recognize faces they have a bigger version with a 8" screen and build in battery.
@@oscaremoralesp28 Hello. Interesting. Could you please tell me - have you changed time on Xiaomi AI (Chinese version) to your local time in Mexico? Thank you in advance.
Even the screen looks better with deeper blacks (maybe its just the angle though). I could never understand Xiaomi.. they always seem to make worse global products than the chinese ones. Worse watches (for example no nfc or assistants in the past etc), worse smart home hubs (less sensors support etc) and now this. Makes no logic at all.. Not to mention about their non existant support, bad after sales, never fixing bugs etc. If they dont care about the global market as much, then why are they even bother trying to make global versions of their products. I am not saying "make the global versions better than the Chinese ones", I am only saying "make them equally good!!!". I almost bought that thing, thinking I could have Mi Home in a screen next to me but thankfully I watched this video first. Also thankfully I watched and read before I bought the Aqara hub a few years ago and bought the Chinese one even though I am located in Greece.

Imagine taking Mandarin language class just so I can use the Chinese version of Xiaomi smart clock. Hehe
The left was plugged first, but the global version definitely took longer to boot up...Very nice review!👌🏾

The global edition is same as Lenovo smart clock. Only the buttons look little different but button position also same.

The global version really sucks! Xiaomi should be ashamed!!
I guess it's about the tech law. they can't do much more than that or their product will not be able on the global market.
