Love these quilts and the video on machine binding. I have been hand stitching my binding from the back, but plan to try this and see how it works for me.

I never had the patience for hand sewing binding. Its certainly more polished! Cant wait to here if you like it or not!

Oh my goodness! I wasn’t going to click on this video bc I know how to put on binding, but thought why not? And … look at that, I learned something new!! When you did your corners with the binding, stopping a 1/4” from the end (common practice), you went backwards off the fabric!!! 😮 I’ve never seen that before! I’ve seen stopping completely, but I didn’t like that. I always sew diagonally to the corner from the 1/4”. It’s been fine, but I like this new idea. I can’t wait to try it and see if there’s a difference in the final outcome. Also, 🙄, I forgot I had that Creative Grids corner ruler. I’m going right now to pull it out! Thank you so much! 😊

@thoughtsofjoyk love it! Got that ruler as part of a FB market place group and I was so excited!

@@pickinstitches So, I tried it, and it worked out great! I used your backstitching method and the ruler (totally forgot I had that!). I don’t know why, but the backstitching off works with my brain and abilities. 😆 My bindings always turn out pretty good, but I don’t like doing them at all. Adding in a tool (always more fun) and the little backwards trick really have changed my game. Thank you! 😊 I so appreciate you sharing.

I leave my salvages on both strips and make sure the salvage extends past the layover. That gives me corner to shoot for as I sew the diagonal. After it is sewn, the salvage gets trimmed along with the angle piece.

Really enjoy the tutorial on the tool. I have seen the third hand tool but the iiron is on a silicone mat so as not to hurt your wool or pressing mat.

It's beautiful. I'm going to order the foot attachment. It seems like it makes it very easy to top stitch.

And the wonder clips also have a 1/4" mark towards the clip end! Love the binding tutorial, Great Job! Love the quilt. I have been watching your videos for awhile. I am 72 and have been quilting since 1980 when my Granny Lovett pa ssed away. She was a quilter. I wanted to make a quilt in her memory. I found a local quilt shop in my town and they were just starting lessons and I joined 10 other ladies learning to make our first quilt. It was a sampler, It was before rotary blades and mats were popular. we cut our templates out of plastic and drew the pattern on the back of our material and handstitched on hand appliques or cut our shapes to sew together using school rulers, no big nice quilting rulers! What a trip! You are a great teacher, I enjoy watching others teach. I am a retired Registered Nurse of over 40 years. I have taught many to quilt. I was a sewest before I started quilting, making many of my own clothes, scrubs and my children's clothes.

Fabulous video. What is the name of the foot you used when flipping the binding over to the front of the quilt? I did not see it in the list of products used. And is the foot fir only a Juki? Thank you. Again, thank you. Great video. 😍🧵🪡
