Listening now! These tracks are damn good!
Done! Can't wait
Is your guitarist a George Benson fan? Some of those runs in the mellow part of the solo had a cool Benson feel to them. You guys are amazing BTW
Now i want a Guitar Hero : the main squeeze ^^ xD
great cover..!!
That solo could feed a family of 4 it’s so tasty.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
This has to be one of the best youtube comments that I have read in a long time. Bravo sir.
very creative comment!
That solo could be airlifted to a disaster zone.
On the list of best all time UA-cam comments. And used for the perfect situation. Couldn't agree more!
when you think the solo is already going out of control, the dude stands up 🤯
RIGHT?! when i was watching this and he started to stand i was like ohhhhh shiiit bucklin' up! 🚀
I've watched this at least 500 times. Gets better each time. Yeah when he stands up he's like...I'm on one but look out, kicking into whole new gear. Unf*ckingbelievable!
You are so right
Great solo.
What ever god is…he found it here
I listen to this solo twice a week for mental health.
You must be psychologically fit then; as this solo is absolutely amazing. It has everything: great phrasing, fiery licks, dynamics, a few great jazzy legatos, the building of crescendos, etc. Very impressive. I may join your selfcare regimen haha.
@@matthewhorizon6050 welcome brother, the path ahead is righteous.

Then you all have a small solo education, nothing exceptional in this.
Maybe you should learn what creative guitarists can do. Steve Hunter & Richard Wagner (Lou Reed Rock'n Roll Animal Live album), Tommy Iommi, Martin Barre (Jethro Tull). It will take you 10 minutes and you might have an orgasm or more...

I’m a Pink Floyd fan and this is literally the best cover of “Have a Cigar” ever made!! It slaps!!
Hell, it's the only cover of this song that I've ever heard! Awesome!
@@MikeRobersonDaddyDoeBucks Primus covered it on one of their albums. It was one of their more "normal" recordings. That was actually my introduction to the song. I was young and had never listed to Pink Floyd at that point. I love both versions, and this take is right up there with them!!
Greatest ever thats for sure. Pink Floyd would be besides themselves!
Actually better than Floyd, in terms of guitar work, IMHO
Yeah this is jamming, Primus does a pretty badass job too!
Okay, yeah, that solo is phenomenal, but can we talk about the control on the singer's voice? It's outstanding.
His phrasing is unbelievable
The more of their posts I watch, the more I begin to notice the unbelievable control this guy has. Incredible band.
Brilliant performances all around. I'm obsessed with this cover. I must've watched it 100 times
he's flat so much...
Phenomenal
That guitarist is getting mad props in the comments. But that singer and rhyth section are just killing it too.
Great band.
I'll be honest I'm a huge fan of Pink Floyd but I think the singer did a better job
@@spaghettimonter13 lol. First off neither David nor Roger sang this, It was Roy Harper and his vocal delivery is top notch and cannot be recreated. This is a nice cover and the guitarist is the MVP here. The singer made it sound like a 90's R&B song which it is clearly not.
@@floyd_fanatic I think he actually makes it sound like true 80s funk
@@spaghettimonter13 hey, personaly, i agree. i like very much the style of this "cover"... it's unique! this singer is crazy good, you just have to appreciate the style! peace
Ben Whazoo rose tinted spectacles? The singer here did a much better job
A good guitarist won't shine without a good band. That drummer is locked in. The bassist has has plenty of groove with those riffs too.
That's right. These guys were locked in.
The basslines are so nasty
truth, a guitar player doesn't rip a solo like that unless the whole band are on a serious vibe. I'm not much of a lead guitarist but one night when my band were playing particularly well instead of playing the repetitive melodic line that I had written I decided to play a solo instead and it was like someone else was controlling my fingers
Finally somebody understands. The solo can only materialize if there's inspiring musical accompanyment.
Someone Undoubtedly Was, felix.
Sure, I cried, who wouldn't. That guy's solo was transported from another universe and the entire tight band knew it. I didn't think he was gonna get it all out of his fingers before he passed out...jeez! Yeah, it was recorded...visually...forever. Thank you everyone involved.
Greatest cover of any song ever!perfection!
I would put this up there with any iconic solo from the classic rock era. One of the greatest of all time
That cigar is going to need to smoke a cigarette after that guitar solo. Good GOD. That's gotta be one of the best guitar solos in UA-cam history.
That's seriously the best guitar solo that came out in these last 20 or so years. It's just so insanely beautiful and face melting at the same time.
TOTALLY Agree!
Wish I could give you a hundred 👍's for that, bro
Honestly, this is one of the best guitar solos I've ever heard. Right up there with the finest work from Hendrix, Page, Clapton, Vaughan, Buddy Guy, BB King. Max has a different way of speaking through his guitar, but it really is just as well connected and evocative as the historic greats.
no , same guitarist but "comfortably numb" , i love this one , but when he jerked his guitar of to comfortably numb , white stuff came out of the pores of me skin , lol
There is nothing more beautiful than seeing a band of musicians being in perfect flow together.
I couldn't agree more!!
You could see that all went somewhere else for a minute there.
Yeah that Gibson SG is kickin ass!!
Check out the in sync head bobs in the beginning. That’s one heart beat baby. Like a pack of wolves.
And recreating classics in a beautiful way
Not gonna lie, as a lifelong guitar enthusiast, few solos make me teary eyed, but this is one of those few. Absolutely incredible. One of my favorite solos ever played… I don’t know what or who he channeled when he was ripping this one, but his mind was in another dimension. I’ve been coming back to this every few months for a few years now just to get my fix, and it never gets old…
Same! I've said now many times that no guitar piece has Ever moved me emotionally as much as this piece. It has brought tears to my eyes multiple times. I even go as far as saying Maximilian is my favorite guitarist of all time.
Same
Very well said
He keeps the groove of the original throughout the entire solo...Bravo
Tony iommi vibes to me (sabbath)
That drummer is so chill and so deep in the pocket at the same time it’s unworldly… and that bass player is just driving that tune on the low end so perfectly. Makes me wanna take off my clothes and go outside and just scream! I listen to this EVERY SINGLE DAY! Thank you !
look at the drummer smiling at him and the bass player concentrated trying his best not to get lost in that incredible solo.
Yeah got Nick Masons slow groove
@@EnricoZulu... more like the bass player attempting to keep the guitarist on this plane of existence lol
When my friends and I get really baked and play covers, this is what we THINK we sound like.
when im stoned people turn rap on and im vibin. when im sober i could hear the same song and just be like wheres the slayer my guy
@@Thrashmaster bruh same
Yup. Then we think, DUDE, we should get a camera crew.
Wow, that makes you guys THINK FLOYD! ;)
couldn't agree more
I love that solo... but no one seems to talking about the Bassist... He is a fence keeping the guitarist just barely on our mundane plane of existence... He lets out just enough line for the guitarist to tap into whatever divine force he is channeling but the moment he might LITERALLY start melting his own face, the bassist reels him back in enough to get him back in his own body for the close out.
Its fucking AMAZING!
lol! Great analysis.
Thank you for pointing this out!
Here I am listening to this once again, on the bus, going home with my new-to-me bass in my hands…
@@HerrGeneral How's that bass?
Well f****** said!!!
I come back every few weeks for this. That guitar solo will make you weep. Then he stands up and knocks you down!
the transition from the "jazzy" dorian part of the solo to the "gilmourish" rock part is just amazing
i know, it's like he suddenly remembers what song he's playing lol. i love when he gets hauled up out of his chair by his tremolo
Was thinking exactly that while listening, then saw your comment. Truth be told, it takes a huge pair to replace one of the greatest bluesy solos of all time with modulations, wrap it around and get away with it like a true boss. Awesome performance
@@leigometido It's a euphoric moment paired with a bouncy jam prior. The way the audio changed elevated the part, feeling the intensity of the transition felt exactly how I'd imagine flying to feel like. Bet on my life when I first heard that solo and that switch in style and audio, chills ran all over my body and my mind and soul went to the cosmos for a short but blissful journey before returning back to this realm. A truly magical moment in history, these guys are absolutely stellar, man
@@alaskasmith241 Damn, Get a life, man.
PERFECTLY DESCRIBED!!!!! I love you
Anyone gonna show the drummer some love?! Sat back in the pocket, threw some dirty fills in, and let the band do work! Drumming at its finest!
Amazing. The way he's locking into the solo esp at the end. A lot of listening and band interaction awareness going on.
Did. You. See. The Charts?
Ruben is the man. He did a fantastic job of holding it down along with the bassist. Ruben was as big a fan of that solo as I was.
also when he sneaky switches over to the zylophone on the side haha
Get them lighters up for the man steering the ship!!! 🙌👏👏👏👊🚬
What I love about Max's solos, he doesn't try to copy the original. Instead, he gives the feel of it, while still making it his own. I listen to this version more than the original.
mark of a good musician.
This feels nothing like Gilmour's solo. Come on man.
He makes it his own but always stays in the box.
I’ve watched this cover a billion times over the last few years. I can’t tell you how, but I almost cry Everytime during the guitar solo. You think it’s gonna end then the energy just picks up even harder than before. Freakin sick
Goosebumps and tears every time.....i downloaded it for my alarm..... absolutely stunning solo!
Mate i thought here we go he is winding it down....nah, up a notch, ah his must be it now...wait...up?...FUCK ME, UP ANOTHER GEAR, WHAT IS HAPPENIIIIING
I had my phone connected to my kitchen speakers as I was cooking dinner for my two kids and UA-cam was on random and this song video started to play. As the song went on and the guitarist went off i couldn't believe what i was seeing and hearing. After the song was over, I had burnt my kids chicken nuggets and water was overflowing out of the sink cause I was using it when I was cooking. I had completely zoned in to your incredible music and everything around me vanished. That has never happened to me before. Cool life experience. Thank you.

I love the facial expression of the drummer…. He knows what the guitarist is capable of and you can tell by his face he knows when it’s turning on, but has no idea where it’s going. It’s like the rest of the band straps in as well as he takes off.
Just love this guitarist style, I hear a lot of jimi page in his playing, he makes the guitar wail and weep… soul moving.
Could not put it better!
P.S. I hear JIMI too :D
So much page, with a dash of Duane.
Holy shit same. He sounds a lot like Jimmy Page and this is a huge compliment.

Quite possibly the best guitar solo I've ever heard. Absolutely stunning. The whole band is fantastic on this.
Agreed.
That is really what I think…. 😊
Noticed the Solo is very Toni Iommi.. even though it's a Pink Floyd cover.. Guitarist also has a Gibson like Iommi. Wonder if that was one of his many influences?
I been thinking this after I heard it the first 10 times
@ErroneousMonk1 "by the way... which one's Pink"
The UA-cam algorithm actually worked!
That solo just took me on a fucking journey dude.
That Jazzy/Blues riffing ... You hit a phrase, you took it out the box, played around with it a little. Put it back in the box and then dropped it into another phrase. You played with such articulate emotion kicking it up a gear through all the different sections. That was simply beautiful.
Huge Rory Gallagher vibes. I love it!
Yes bro I'm sitting here like that some Rory Gallagher meets thin lizzy for sure
Ja so gut. Unbeschreiblich

БРАВО! АПЛОДИСМЕНТЫ!
this solo is an example of one of those magic moments you just sometimes have as a guitarist. somehow it's the right day and everything falls into place. you pick up the guitar like always but something feels different. as you start to play your mind starts wandering off and you feel all of your problems and thoughts melt right into your playing and your hands just do their thing. there's no world outside of you and your guitar, you have completely surrendered to the flow and let everything out without filter. i have listened to this solo so many times and i still get goosebumps everytime at 5:30. the way he gets up. the look the drummer gives him. everything in this video makes me feel good. Thank you so much Main Squeeze! Big up from Austria!
There is nothing on this earth better than that feeling. When your body, mind, and soul take over and you just go along for the ride.
That moment when the guitarist hits the groove so hard that the drummer shares in the stank face.
I have those days singing some days. I'll start singing and it'll just feel right
You described it so beautifully and precisely the way I remember it.
Been a Pink Floyd fan since the 70s, and this is by far the best version of this song ever done, and can we talk about the vocal control, just sic. This is Pink Floyd with a touch of funk. I am a new fan.

the guitarist could power a small continent with that solo.
as a huge pink floyd fan you guys cant imagine how much joy this cover brings to my heart! the guitar solo was absolutely fire!!

Agreed!!! I would love to jam in that fancy yurt you got there!
Yeah, big Floyd fan here, too, and I approve. Frankly, I like this approach better than purist copycat cover bands like Aussie Pink Floyd (although, they're obviously great too). There's just something special when a band makes a cover their own and it actually works. This is is so close the source material, and yet there's something to the "soul" of the thing that differentiates it. I really love it. Of course, it doesn't hurt that the guitarist is just fantastic -- I love his feels very, very much.
@@thehobowhisperer You can hear at least 10 other inspirations from his solo. That guy is good
There are so many wonderful people in this life who bring you magic with their talents, and imagination. Take you to another world you didn’t know existed. This is one of those bands. Main Squeeze you have my gratitude 🙏
Has there ever been such a clear, totally unexpected impression of a cover band turning into a historic guitar solo? I was simply struck. Genius!
There seems to be a slight influence from Jimmy Page's Stairway to Heaven solo.
@@learnerit3164 Max is definitely a fan of the guitar greats of the past ~50 years, especially Jimmy Page. The love for Zeppelin shines through beautifully, but mixes with the designs of Floyd and The Main Squeeze's own creativity to form a unique sound that I believe transcends the original. Few songs have done this over time, but the most iconic is Jimi Hendrix's All Along The Watchtower, which Bob Dylan even regarded as a superior rendition and ended up modifying his own performance of for his shows!
Genius, indeed.
I'm 40 years old. I've been playing guitar since I was 14. I've played a lot of guitar and heard a lot of guitar. That may be the best guitar solo I've ever heard.

I've been playing guitar for over 30 years and appreciating music for even longer. I must say, after listening to this 20 plus times..this band is super tight and that guitar solo is perhaps the most perfectly balanced I ever heard in terms of pure soulful feel and technical ability. Great work guys.
And we all know how Floyd's fans are pinky.... picky sorry.
Couldn't have written that better myself. Yes, the fans are picky but that guitar solo, the singer and hell the whole band just rock it off the walls! Killer stuff!
Just when you think the guitar solo is running too far away ,,, BAM! There's a Gilmour cliche.
If you think this is full of technical ability you definatly are not a teacher. This looks like somebody who's just learning trying to attempt there second solo by copying what david Gilmore did and changing it just a Little bit and repeating it over and over. Not that great.

I've been trying to find words to describe how great this cover is for the past two days but I've remained speechless. Everybody is doing a fantastic job, including the sound engineer. This 4+ minute-long guitar solo is a genuine spiritual experience, easily the best guitar solo I've heard since I was a teenager in the early 80s when you could still hear the likes of Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Queen or Van Halen on the radio. Thank you for keeping great music alive guys!
By the way I'm a big Pink Floyd fan but I don't even feel the need to mention how this cover is both respectful and transcendent, it is just a bunch of insanely talented people channeling divine beauty down onto us through their instruments and in the end it's all that matters ♥♥♥

Great talent, great solo. If it’s a one-off cover, then god damn that is amazing. If you are gonna make it a staple I would iron out those climaxes at the end into just a couple pops. Guy was blowing his load all over left and right. Much respect and love
I think it sounded mostly like when Page would jam in The Song Remains The Same 1973.
A lot of cover bands don't have the same enthusiasm as you guys all have for each other, and I love that so much.
Just bands in general either.
I love the reaction on the rest of the band members as the solo continues to escalate. Real musicians just love seeing others kill it, especially when playing together.
Ladies, get yourself a man that looks at you the way the drummer was looking at the guitarist.
@@johngregg6820 I came to comment that exact thing haha
Was almost expecting him to stop and watch him jam.
@@johngregg6820 hahaha, he was mesmerized there for a minute
@@MrRungi right? I was like hes barely tapping those drums did he forget hes playing now too... definitely wasnt "pounding away", playing looked effortless
Still remains to this day, one of the greatest solos I have ever heard.
The vocals here are so deep. I haven’t heard this much expression and emotion on the radio in years. This group is a standout.
He crushed it!
absolutely
I don't think the pop style matched song though, great singing but to me it sounded like some one direction dude singing pink floyd.
Jonny Oliveira of course, you’re right. But, maybe a bit unfair. It’s not possible for amateurs and new bands to consistently look good next to genre-defining artists like those in Pink Floyd. It’s enough (for me) that they’re putting in the effort, and seem to honestly love and “get” the music here.
@@ericprice5471 Well, I do think they look good next to the original though, I like this cover a lot. And he is a good singer, my beff with it is the aproach he took, which sounds more like a modern pop singer, while I prefer the original because the singer sounds more sarcastic and mean.
But that's personal taste, in fact, when they were recording this song, both Rogers and Guilmor tried recording but they didn't like the result, in the end the version that came out was actually recorded by Roy Harper. Waters said he didn't like Roy's version as he wanted it to be "more vulnerable and less cynical".
That solo part just gives me chills
By the way, which one's Squeeze?

I like that most people don't get this comment.. lol
I KNEW he’d have to stand up sooner or later - can’t play that sitting down - great job
I come back to this cover over and over just to hear that solo...It's like a religious experience every time. That being said, this is one of the most amazing covers I have ever heard in my life. Props to every musician in this band.
Same.
From the opening chords of the rhythm section you just know this is gonna kill
You guys are fucking monsters. This is a guitar solo. So much feeling. I like shredding a lot too, but the feeling in this solo is way better than speed. Cheers from Brazil. Big fan here.
I like that they didn't just cover it, they brought their own style to it.
@@LiberalsArePoop Totally.
I didn't realize how versatile an SG is. Very cool!
Well speed was there too i woudl say
Dude, this solo is much more technically challenging than mere shredding lol
That guitarist made me cry with a solo. That has never happened before
So you should watch Comfortably Numb Live - Pulse
Dude...ME TOO! You can totally feel his emotion while listening.
@@JPigLOL Amen
@@JPigLOL Watch Jack Thammarat Comfortably Numb Pulse solo cover. Holy wow!
BRO SAME
Damn son, now thats a guitar solo.
This is one of the greatest and least talked about guitar solos because it’s a cover and I feel like it needs more recognition.
Dude the entire band is so tight. every one of them is incredibly talented, but good lord this is possibly my favorite solo. I can feel it.
The guitarist is an exceptional feature, obviously... but, frankly, everyone of you guys are great. I love the lead vocalist's style. I love the drummer not trying to be a superstar, and instead being every bit of glue a band could ask for, the bassist doesn't miss a beat, and the keyboards are subtle and supportive in all the right ways. I love you guys. Come to Portland?
Dan Williams h
They just did their east coast tour. Had the pleasure of seeing them twice this time around. They'll be up in the PNW soon I'd imagine.
This is one of the most stacked bands I've ever seen. How are you guys not mega famous!?
All about time period and what sells
Cuz vocals sucks
Guitarist should go off on his own
@@deadmeme9309 vocals are badass bro
Vocals aren't bad, but aren't good enough for the guitarist
@@deadmeme9309 drummer and guitarist should go together
If it wasn't for Rob and Rueben reeling Max in, I think he would still be slaying that solo to this day!
Can we get some love for our boy on piano and keys? His playing is so tasteful and complementary. He plays with such feel yet such restraint, a good pianist/keyboardist really bring’s a band’s sound to the next level. Of course being a bassist myself I’m absolutely fawning over the sheer grace of how this man dances up and down the fretboard without interfering with that absolutely demonic solo erupting from the guitarist.
brother can sing. props
This is the greatest cover of all covers’ of all time , just nonstop goosebumps from the start to finish
Dude you have the voice of an angel.
This definitely has to be the best cover of pink floyd out there, my face hurts because of the stank
Check out the Martin Miller band.
Indeed.
The stank is high. It reeks of jazz school like a durian, but we eat it and become the rare ones who seek the durian.
the stank is REAL, man. god DAMN
Check pink tones
This is simply one of, if not the most,
‘’in the pocket” performances ever.
Especially the singer, he was absolutely on point
As a very long time Floyd fan...I am speechless. You guys killed it. Wow. Beautifully done. This is so good on so many levels. Doesn't get much better.
That's as good as the original 👌 seriously
You know it's amazing when the drummer is in awe of what he is seeing!!
the. best. floyd. cover. i. have. ever. heard.
Ewan Cunningham's Echoes is pretty good, not on the same level musicianship-wise, but he plays all the parts in a 20+minute rock suite.
Govt mule does it a lot better. Dark side of the mule is what the album's called
Guess you haven't heard too many covers then. Don't get me wrong, these guys did a great job, definitely nice guitar work, but the vocals are a bit lacking (sure he hits the notes, but not real impressed with the depth). Imo, a really great cover is one that leaves you feeling that it's on par with, and sometimes eveb better, than the original.
Imo, some better covers are Tangerine Dream's "Wish You Were Here", Low's cover of "Fearless" (which I actually like better than Floyd's version frankly), "Run Like Hell" cover by Dweezil Zappa and Tony Kaye (which imo has more raw energy),
Jeff Skunk Baxter's (of Steely Dan) version of "Breathe (In The Air)" and there's Korn's cover of "Another Brick In The Wall", just to name a few ;?)
I just listened to this song 3 times, in between each time I smoked, each time I listened...it got better. I've now spent the past hour listening to this song. I can't move. send help.

Thanks god this solo wasn't longer, I literally forgot to breathe.
Lmao I had the exact same reaction
I've come back to this many, many times like all of you have. It's really hard to describe just how great this is (all of them). I wish I could like a video more than once...
The lead talent is incredible, but props to the rhythm section as well for providing the foundation for that superb performance
Man, i love how Papi Ortiz, Kanye, Jesse Pinkman, Dave Grohl and Varejao got together to deliver this masterful piece
i see big papi, skinny marc gasol, dave grohl, and the little person from g.o.t. but he's all grown up
Varejao had to redefine his career after that Dwade dunk.
Papi Ortiz 😁😂
Not to take away anything from the rest of the band, but that guitar solo there...out of this realm.
Yeah, they really are great though. Honestly, the rest of them are just terrific "support" for the guitar and vocals. They shouldn't change a thing.
When a musician pours their heart and soul into their performance, it's as if their passion tears through the fabric of time, creating a moment so profound and captivating that it transcends the boundaries of reality itself.
Wow, that was really something. Not sure what, but something for sure.
The band is just fantastic, and that is really what I think. Musicians enjoying the music they're playing is success.
oh, by the way, which one is Squeeze?
