    After my LH surge, I found I ovulate 24 hours after. The strips with test and control line are more informative than the smiley face test kit

      Ovulating three days after a period is highly unlikely because the eggs need atleast 9 days to mature. You may not be ovulating at all.

    Switched off when you said ovulation is always 14 days before end of cycle. This is WRONG. The luteal phase is not always 14 days.

      You have to listen to her example. She started out by saying she’s using a 28 day cycle as her example. The ovulation time occurs in the middle of the full cycle, which for this example would be around CD14. I don’t think she should’ve said “always”, but I also doubt she meant it as to say ALL women will have their ovulation on CD14.

    • @JasmineAvril
      @JasmineAvril 3 місяці тому

      She didn’t say CD 14, she said 14 DAYS before your next period. I have 34 day cycles. My ovulation has been on CD20 for the last 6 months. Thats still 14 days before the next CD1.

    My partner isnt with it. TTC 5th month now, he keeps saying if God wants to bless us anyday of the month is okay, i shouldnt obsess with fertility window, tracking ovulation with stripes, tracking my cycles. That's true in some aspect, but science says when the egg is released its survives 12-24hrs or whatever, he doesn't believe in that. How am i suppose to get pregnant, its not happening, im getting old as well. My sons nearly 5.

      No need to tell him all the details since he agreed to have a baby, you start the tracking by yourself once you are on ovulation just tell him you’re missing him and you would have sex with him. Men still men.

    Very well explained, it's not overly detailed, and contains enough info so you can understand the major principle. Yeah not everybody ovulate around 14 days, but she also said that she recommends to test everyday starting on your first day of your period, so she is not dismissive of that fact. Now that makes a lot of strips, but hopefully you get better at catching the following cycle when your body ovulate and you don't have to test anymore everyday. Now it exits kits with a lot of strips, so that's feasible. The only comment that caught my attention wast "having sex 2 to 3 times within the 24-48h window". I've never heard that before, I thought 1x was enough... interesting.

      Yes, always. If you're healthy, your hormones are on track, and you get the egg fertilized, you will get a chance to grow a tiny human.

  • @wendyisafarmer

    Why is the LH surge "the most important part of your cycle because this will give you the information you need for getting pregnant"? Getting pregnant is absolutely not everyone's goal who seeks to understand their ovulating bodies. In fact, that's the goal very little of the time. Though the information may be correct, viewing women's health through the lens that the ONLY function obtaining this knowledge serves is reproduction is atrocious.

    Very informative video! One piece of friendly constructive criticism - not all couples are cis-hetero. Hopefully in future videos you will consider using more inclusive language for TTC same-sex couples.

    • @vanessad.2625
      @vanessad.2625 Рік тому +30

      This video is about a hormone that women get before ovulation, and conceiving occurs when sperm meets the egg. If a same sex couple wants to have a surrogate or one of them wants to get pregnant than his information still applies. Science is what it is.

    • @HamIsTheUpgradeOfBalogna

      Using the term “Cis” is actually considered extremely offensive by the heterosexual community. If you really are concerned with inclusive language that is..

    • @kittenlover3864

      Oh god. If you’re really making this comment you need a psychiatrist and a science lesson. “Cis” needs to go. Man and woman it is - end of story.

      Any couple who is conceiving a baby has all the parts mentioned. What other words are you possibly looking for her to say??
