ABOUT VINTAGE PAGE DESIGNS
Vintage Page Designs is an online book arts community based in Groton, Massachusetts. We provide bookbinding tutorials and resources for beginner and advanced bookmakers alike, and we encourage artists and crafters to express their ideas and creativity through handmade books. It’s our belief that anyone can create a handmade book-it doesn’t require expensive tools or equipment.
When I finished watching the replay I started making mini journals to leave in the new little free library at our neighbourhood park. 🥰🇨🇦
I love this!!!
I knew all of my "collecting" would be important some day...Who knew it would be for bookbinding.? Looking forward to next week.
as a calligrapher--i think this is a perfect place where to use my practice sheets for pages between plain papers
Thanks Inspiring to do something when only have 10 minutes.
Thanks for the signature tips !
I’ve been using elastic cord in a travelers journal style you mentioned but sometimes called a “Midori” (if one searches UA-cam for a how to. )It’s great for making junk journal loose pages that can later be rearranged into a signature, or place to store tags, small envelopes etc for art journals or travel journals,
Great ideas. Merci😊
Great ideas!! Thankd
Wonderful ideas! Thank you!
I love that you mentioned Succession!!!! So good ! Ali you’re the best for all these fabulous suggestions to organize our studios/ thinking in art making🎨
Thanks.
Thank you Ali 🌹 see you Friday ☺️🦄🤗
Lots of lovely ideas - thanks!
What fabulous ideas. When you make bookcloth, do you make standard sizes so as to minimize waste?
I print out lined pages in advance~
I love this
Hi Ali, you mentioned there was a Kansas City bookmaking group. I make journals and live in Kansas City. I tried to find info on them but had no luck. Do you know if they have a Facebook page or a website? Thank you.
This is a group organized through the Handmade Book Club. Send an email to help@vintagepagedesigns.com and we can connect you.

How many papers do you usually put in each signature?
It depends on how thick paper is. An example is i’’ll fold 6-8 sheets of 80lb sketch paper
what kind of elastic
What do you do with security envelopes
I put then in a small bin. I keep my eyes open for interesting designs and colors:-)
Use them in collage
I thought you meant storage 😂😂😂 . YES, great patterns for collage!!
They also make great pockets or sew them in5o your journals like Ali showed in one of hers. You can also use them on your gelli plate, paint them, sew them...whatever you do with paper, you can usually do with envelopes.
Hi Ali, here from Villa Rica, GA. Anyone close to me ? I would like to make a book with you, because I need help !😊
great ideas! Thanks!
