As a therapist who specializes in working with people with DID and OSDD, I can't thank you enough for so eloquently and candidly sharing what it's like to live with DID, and what the healing process has been for you! It's so important for people to know that people with dissociative disorders can thrive - AND that that can look a lot of different ways. I'm also so grateful for the wonderful work you do in destigmatizing, educating, and simply normalizing what so many people don't realize is such a common disorder! Thanks for all you do, and props on the beautiful healing journey you are clearly continuing to follow.

I have always had the utmost respect for Daniel and hearing how caring he was (and continues to be) to Kit just made me fall in love with him all over again.

This is absolutely lovely. I so relate to Kit’s tendency to deflect and not allow others to know how she’s feeling, as well as to Daniel’s anxiety. Daniel taking that leap and being there for Kit, and Kit opening up to him, both took a lot of strength and courage. I’m so proud of and happy for you both, not just as parts of the system working well together (though of course that’s a good thing), but as individuals working on yourselves.

It’s cool that you can see how their feelings differ on what a friend is. Daniel basically made it sound like they’re cordial and kit made it sound like they’re casual friends

We have the apartment lobby for group meetings but mostly we visit each other’s rooms or use the intercom system if we need to get messages to one another. -Wyn

We've just discovered your channel, and we are impressed by your (plural) openness and honesty. It's important for people to realize that, just like a 3D family, a DID family will have its strained relationships and personality conflicts -- Ours does, for sure! We congratulate Kit and Daniel on their reconciliation and wish them a long and productive friendship!

I just back from my cpn appointment (little island so very little mental health care) and she noticed I have started saying "we". We started to get the did symptoms a year and a half ago so relatively new. None of us noticed I (the hostl started saying we and kinda proud of it :)
You guys have evolved and grown so much. I may not know you guys but I'm proud and so excited to see how much more healing and positive change you all will go through :,)
I don't really like being alone either because then the only people I have to talk to are the people inside my head. At the same time some times I don't want to be around other people because of events in my past that have made it very difficult to trust anyone.
On one hand there's a Persecutor alter who still scares the hell out of me. The others are fine I can deal with them. But I've been told it's not really healthy to have such close relationships with people who only exist in my head. Then again I've also recently discovered that my therapist was using outdated methods for treating Multiple Personality Disorder. I never even heard of Dissociative Identity Disorder till about three months ago now. So I don't even know if anything my therapist told to do is actually helping anymore.
Everyone else seems to have great communication with their alters and while I have like 40 alters I only really have decent communication with like maybe 6 of them.
It takes a long time to get to know one another, and some inner family members may never make themselves known. We've been aware that we are multi for over 20 years, and we still don't know everyone "in there." We can feel their presence, but, so far, they have chosen not to come forward. We respect this as their right and let them know that we love and support them, completely and totally, just the way they are. Re: therapeutic approaches to multiplicity/DID, they are a work in progress, as the "disorder" increasingly becomes demystified and accepted as "valid." If you are not comfortable with your current T, there is an oceanfull of them out there to choose from. (We joke that there are probably even more T's on the market today than lawyers, lol.) We hope this helps.
I don't have DID but from what I heard on various channels, both are important. Inner communication and outside friends. I'd say that learning to know your alters is a good thing because then you can support each others. Yes, these alters are 'inside your head' but you're still sharing a brain, you need to be able to communicate and understand one another if you want to be able to grow and go through life in one common direction without anyone feeling dissatisfied and/or left out. It's the same with Singles honestly, we need to know ourselves (our own brain) to be able to be happy, the difference is that you guys' brain is split and so you have to learn to know your teammates instead. But of course, I'm no expert so take my advice with a grain of salt. If you haven't watched their channels yet, I recommend DissociaDID and Team Piñata, my advice comes from what I learned in their videos.
@@jeanettewaverly2590 I actually left my Therapist a long time ago because when I turned 18 I dropped from my dad's insurance and we couldn't afford things like that anymore.
Also it's not a problem with just a single therapist. I've recently found out that the local college is still teaching Multiple Personality Disorder so pretty much every therapist in my area has no clue what DID is because it's not even taught to them in school. Either the college needs to update their lesson plan or I have to find someone who wasn't educated by the local community college.
@@RialVestro Keep looking! The right T is out there somewhere. We had the good fortune to connect with a T who was also a multi and a ritual abuse survivor (as we are). And as an added bonus, she had an anthropology background, like we do! We've had other excellent Ts too, so we know they do exist. Blessings to (all of ) you on your healing journey!

This makes we SO happy! I was so surprised to learn that you didn't like each other because, even though you're so different I always felt you were so compatible and just assumed you were best buddies or at least close friends. And it made me sad to learn that wasn't the case. It's been incredible to see how much everyone in the system has grown in such a short amount of time and it's wonderful to see you two coming together and working through your differences! You are all so strong!

It always makes me happy seeing people working out conflicts, and try their best to cooperate and be considerate of each other. No matter the situation, you'll always have to try to cooperate or comporomise, in order to keep things smooth and conflict-averse so bad stuff in the future won't occur.
I'm happy to see you two change and how it also may have impacted the system as a whole. Keep going strong and stay level-headed and have mutuality.
Also, change is a necessary tool for survival. It's in our nature, but It's hard to compromise yourself and your values to something you're not certain of that'll happen.

I’m really happy for you guys to finally get along. It’s my first time commenting but i got a bit emotional myself watching. I’m not a system but i’ve been in many situations like Daniel’s and kit’s. And believe me both situations were very difficult. The need to be there for someone and the need to just get weak and cry it all out then get yourself together again.

Reconseliation! It's so good to see growth in people! Cause that's what all this is and it is reassuring in an odd way. Like growth is still a thing. Oh and I have a question for Wynn: does anyone have issues falling asleep ala insomnia? I'm asking cause I noticed that people who aren't neurotypical, think that's the correct word, seem to have a trend to sleeping issues.
We have chronic nightmares which sucks but we definitely don’t have insomnia. -Wyn

I have a question (and please correct me if I'm wrong about any of this) - is the relationship between alters affected by the trauma one or both of them holds? From what I understand some alters find it difficult or impossible to know the others are there because the brain needs them to be separate to keep their trauma away from the others. Does this also apply to relationships between them? Could Kit and Daniel not get along because one of them holds a trauma that the brain is trying to keep from the other one? Or is it purely about their personalities once they know each other exist?
Neither Kit nor Daniel are trauma holders, but stuff like that can absolutely influence Alter relationships. -Wyn
I have a question about how you helped a specific harmful self coping problem that I believe Kit also used, but am not sure how to contact you - do you have an old video or post somewhere about helping alters not to self harm?

Only when we want to. It can be a comfort thing for some of us. Food and sleep aren’t necessary in the inner world, tho. -Wyn

We thought Mistletoe fused with me because I had so much emotional fallout afterward. However, Kit’s personality changed heavily whereas mine didn’t so we believe the fusion was actually with her. -Wyn
