Final boss battle of Sly Raccoon without taking damage for PS2 in 1080p and 60fps - Ігри
I just realized that the Clockwerk is a metaphor. When you are always fueled by jealousy and hatred, especially for someone, you become a shell of your former self. Clockwerk's metal body represents the hollowness of what he once was. And that it can literally last forever.
It made me cry in sly 2 when they talked about the hate chip. Idk why it makes me cry but it’s just so incredible that someone could be fueled by that much hatred that it keeps them going no matter what. It reminds me of Dracula in the Castlevania games. He kept coming back game after game and then in one the later games you can fight his soul which is supposedly the reason he’s able to keep coming back from the dead. His soul is filled by hatred for humanity.
@@vl2663 One of the major shocks about Clockwerk is that he demonstrates how hatred can be far more powerful and enduring than love, but also the havock it ultimately reaps upon itself in the end. Those who embrace pride, greed, and hate will always have more power, but they will always underestimate how the simplicity of humility, hope, and love will cause their own schemes to backfire on themselves. Hatred is easy, but love is hard work, and that's the main difference between Clockwerk and Sly, and what makes Clockwerk so pitiful in the end. He created his own worst enemy, and even then that person didn't even consider Clockwerk to be as important as Sly was to him.
@@vl2663 His hatred was focused on the Coopers, because they were excellent thieves. But the thing is, he has to have a soul before he loses his soul.
Not only is it hollow, but it’s consumed his identity. What do we know about Clockwerk’s former life, aside from his hatred of the Cooper family and desire to live as long as it took to end them?
Never figured that out. 😮👍
" PERFECTION HAS NO AGE " One of thee greatest gaming villain quotes of all time . Sounds badass with the voice too !
Clockwork: You're the weakest Cooper I've encountered.
*Sly continues to whoop his owly ass*
“You’re the weakest cooper I’ve encountered”
I haven’t done anything yet?
To be fair to clockwork it could be that Sly isn't as experienced or skilled as his ancestors (yet) and only through the help of carmelita and his friends can he overcome him, is what clockwork is referring to. He did after all have to get the techniques we have in the games through the pages and such and hasn't developed his own signature technique as far as i remember (though it has been years since Ive played the first 3)
exactly I literally said to myself "you say that as he depletes one fourth of your health bar"
@@pufferfancyfish
Clockwerk's voice would totally fit The Grand Duke of Owls from Rock A Doodle.
I find it fascinating that all the weak points that Sly hits in this battle seem to be the core parts they have to find in Sly 2. Did anyone notice that too? Well most of them
No you're right. Wings, talons, tail, face (eyes), body (organs)
Nice catch!
@@Palafico3I'd also like to say the last part that gets destroyed is his brain, which is what Arpegio (That's my best shot at his name) supposedly had.
@@aurorialgaming1935You missed one letter, but that's really good. It's Arpeggio.
I LOVE how the Sly Cooper games are presented in like a "comic book" style with the animations and cutscenes.
The worst part about Clockwerk is that we didn't get enough of him.
Maybe that will change in future sly cooper games

"Hatin' keeps my skin silky smooth."
- Clockwerk probably
1:43 is such an underrated part of this. This is the most personal moment between Clockwerk and Sly. Clockwerk basically admitting that without Cooper’s book and legacy it meant nothing as a thief. Clockwerk himself had every ounce inside his own body to become a friggin dictator or ruler of the world. He chose to hate the Coopers. Low key Sly burns him with the epic comment of “Ah well there’s where you’re wrong, the Thievius Racconus doesn’t create great thieves it takes great thieves to create the Thevius Racconus.”
Which is why Clockwerk responds with a more intimidating and louder but calmer reply. He also low key hit Sly with his father comment But everything about this moment is epic … it’s a strong moment that stood out for me as a kid and even now as an adult..
I agree he invested himself learning everything about the cooper line with every inch of his body his hated them
This level scared the sh!t out of me when i was a kid😂 the way you have to get to his head while he just says random robotic words was so creepy in my room alone at night lmaooo
Hearing him malfunction and just start saying random gibberish was quite unsettling, I agree! His section of the game was the most difficult, but sadly also the shortest
Beating this as a kid is one of my favorite memories.
Me finally beating this as an adult 😭
No shit.
it felt rewarding for sure
Beating it 20 years later is cooler😤
Sly 1 was probably my favourite finale in the whole series. The final few levels were so incredibly difficult and the whole atmosphere was on point. It truly felt rewarding when you finally won
Carmelita: My missiles don't hurt him.
The missiles: Inflict damage.
I... I have NEVER NOTICED THIS. I have over 40 plays on this fight!
Well, she didn't really HAVE missiles, tbh. Must've been a dialogue mistake on her/the creator's part.
Sly: Copy that, Carmelita.
Hell, if you feel like it, you can just sit and dodge the missiles/rings until Carmelita depletes all of his help
Carmelita shot Clockwerk with the missiles but they didn't do damage, like said though they created holes in the armor then Sly's rockets did the damage
when I was a kid I wonder how a giant robot owl could try to be a thief. Man, its a fucking giant robot.
Instead, it would be interested an origin story about him and how he made that to himself. An inmortal hate microchip and almost undestructible metal armor.... So many mysterys
For real I was just thinking this now. Like how could he sneak around and steal things being as big as he is?? lmao. I literally forgot he was supposed to be thief until I decided to play this game again this week. I always thought he just had a vendetta against the coopers because one of them might’ve wronged him in the past or something like that
Maybe he was much smaller before, owls are very quiet when flying, and maybe he got jealous of the Coopers always outdoing him, and so his hatred fueled him to make a giant metal body for himself to live hundreds of years. Just my theory.
I think clockwerk size is because of his ego and superiority complex who wants to show off
this is why the coopers were better then him because they didnt let ego control them and used stealth
Simple wait till it's night.... AND LIKE A FUCKING OWL SWOOP AND GRAB IT.
It's not about being sneaky it's about being able to steal and never get caught. Sly has been caught plenty of times.
I'm pretty sure the hate chip was made by Arpeggio to sustain the reconstructed body until they reached Paris.
As for how can a big owl be a theif, real life theives are rarely as stealthy or intelligent as the ones in entertainment. Being a hulking, intimidating, deadly brute would service most criminal activities more than being a stealthy twig like Sly.
Tbh, I always wondered why clockwerk hated the coppers so much, he legit replaced his body slowly over time and become immortal just to torture the family. Imo, I think the reason is because they wronged him. Part of me always theorized one of Sly's ancestors and Clockwerk were best friends, and they pulled off heists together. But one day, a heist went wrong and the ancestor left Clockwerk to get caught. To make matters worse, while Clockwerk was in prison, this ancestor took all the credit for the heists and never mentioned Clockwerk. The ancestor basically wrote Clockwerk out of the history books and never gave Clockwerk any credit and never contacted him again. Clockwerk found out and was furious, livid, hurt, and betrayed. His former best friend left him to rot and took all the credit. When Clockwerk tried to see his friend again, he was shunned and ostracized from his home. Clockwerk finally snapped and murdered the ancestor along with his family. Clockwerk has now officially become the monster that will torture the cooper family for centuries to come, swearing revenge for the credit that was stolen from him and to prove he's the better thief
That sounds like a logical explanation to why ClockweRk hates the Coopers.
It would be so cool if his canon backstory ends up being something like that.
honestly there might be slight merit to that if you pay attention to sly 3, how bentley over time started to doubt his own place in the group, and was jealous of sly’s abilities and mobility, it took both Penelope and Murray to convince him otherwise, whereas Doctor M went down the same path clockwerk did, spiteful jealous and entitled, i see sly 3’s real story as a parallel to clockwerk’s development into the bitch as hater he became, perhaps the real reason clockwerk was so jealous and hateful…was because he never had the kind of friendship the coopers had, hell the whole purpose of founding the fiendish five was to kill Conner Cooper, afterward he dipped and stayed alone isolated in his volcano nest were they friends? or was it just straight business… i’d say it was the latter..if clockwerk had the same support group like bentley had he probably would of turned out better….
Bentley and Murray keep sly’s ego in check, while sly and murray keep’s bentley’s doubts and jealousy in check, sly and bentley keeps murray’s self esteem and lack of confidence in check…they complete each other and make up for each other’s flaws by design, sly is agile but weak and dumb, murray isn’t as fast or smart but id the strength and the heart of the team, while bentley is the weakest and least agile of the two he makes up for it with his intellect and cares deeply for his friend’s safety to the point he single handedly broke sly and murray out of a giant ass prison…. it just shows that they need each other more than they like to admit but are also independent as well, bentley becomes a genius inventor, murray has extra Curriculars and sly got a hot fox gf….
needless to say clockwerk most likely never had any of that and its part of the reason he slowly went insane too
I think the implication in sly 4 was that the coopers oldest ancestor (Bob) might have stole clockworks eggs (killing his family). How he was able to live long enough to replace his body is unknown, but it could factor into all the time travel stuff.
Clockwerk: Yourr the weakest Cooper I’ve encountered yet
*Gets his ass shot down and dunked in lava twice*
nowonder he kept hiding
The jetpack fighting is always the hardest part of a burglary.
Anyone else experience the loss of the cool sound effect that occurs during Clockwork's ring move in the sly collection?
When you complete the boss in 1 cycle, the music syncs up so perfectly. The music amps up when the 1st wave starts, and then after clockwork falls in the lava (and dialogue), the Gong-like instrument fades in. This sound makes me think of machines, which fits Clockwork's character so well.
I was like 3 or 4 when I played Sly Cooper for the first time. I'm 22 now and still feel tremendous nostalgia from this fight. Sly Cooper is a true masterpiece.
Clockwerk, The Flying Iron Reaper of Eternal Hatred.
Still one of my favorite final bosses 20 years later.
Sure, it's not difficult but the build up is just spectacular. As a 7 year old with my only experiences "beating" a game by that point being spyro 1...this was just a whole norther level.
I do deeply regret never playing this game in my childhood.
Edit: The other day I came across the first two games at gamestop, I brought them home and i'm busy playing the first game now. It's awesome and really enjoyable.
@nickiteeton
Have you played Thieves in Time?
Ehhhh...
I have better memories with Crash and Spyro
@Solus you’re right. I’ve been going through a re-run of playing the sly series since June and I started of with Sly 2, then 3 and earlier I finally beat clockwork in the original. This game definitely has a different vibe. It feels more personal and dark because the Fiendish Five killed Sly’s dad . Whereas Sly 2 was just Sly messing with the Klaww gang because they had the clockwork parts and he had to destroy them to prevent clocky from coming back. The Klaww gang didn’t actually do anything to sly on a personal level except Neyla at the end when she left Bentley in the wheelchair. And then sly 3 has a similar vibe except it feels a bit more forced because there wasn’t really much purpose for sly to be messing with most of the bosses in that game. Like Octavio for example? I guess the only reason they messed with him is because they were afraid he might hurt Murray. So yeah the games after the original feel kinda pointless but I don’t mind, sly 2 is actually my fave.
I've played all sly games. rn I wanted to replay all games, but man, I just can't get to like Sly 1. It's kinda buggy, and overall not a polished game. Understandable considering it's the first game in the Sly Cooper series, but the only remarkable thing I can get out of it are the characters and the story, maybe. Level design feels unnatural except for a few levels, the movement certainly could be better and a couple other stuff. Certainly, I think I prefer Sly 4 over 1, which is a game I think doesn't deserve as much hate as people gives to it, story may be bad, gameplay may be slower, but it's a really polished game with great artistic design and soundtrack.
Right now, I may skip 1 and start playing 2. Man I miss Sly 2, it was a masterpiece and I think we can all agree on this
The fiendish 5 disliked this except the Panda king. He switched sides
ClockweRk won't be too happy about that once he finds out... He'll likely kill the Panda King...
Now it's the furious four
You know, I'm trying really hard to avoid being like Clockwerk but, more and more I find myself identifying with him.
3:25 This is more or less the hardest part
It really is! It took me over 10 tries between yesterday and today because of that thing you have to walk on the corner of at 3:37. His shock ray things would always get to me
And then the fact that they make you start all over from the first part of the fight is so annoying lol
How does a giant mechanical owl become a thief? I mean, Ridley being a space pirate I can buy. Pirating’s easy when you’re the size of a ship. But _thieving?_ What, does Clockwerk just swoop in and steal whatever he wants? There’s nothing “masterful” about that!
i mean owls are known to fly practically silently, so being silent and hard to detect could be the thief inspiration
Yeah, Clockwerk would've been better off as someone trying to take over the world, it actually suits him better then a master thief
@@elharvey5032
I also agree why be a master thief when he can just take over the world as ruler instead.
Anybody here ever hear the saying "you can't always get what you want"
Clockwerk is what you get when you can't accept that. He *really* wanted to be a good thief
The coopers were just better
Maybe he planned on changing into a smaller, more discreet body after ending the cooper bloodline.
It's just an end boss for a kids game don't go to hard
Sly cooper devs:
Haha so true 😂 Any kid who beat this felt like a world champion dealing those final blows, Clockwerk was the real deal
Say what you want about this game series but they did make an awesome ultimate villain/arch-enemy in Lore wise.
Too bad they never expanded on clockwork, there is way too little information, I hope if they do make sly cooper, they bring back clockwork, especially since it would make sense since sly is in the past.
Yeah, an expansion on Clockwerk would be pretty awesome. What if he had a reason before he turned himself into a cyborg, but given his hatred and envy, it eventually stopped mattering to him and he simply became an avatar of hatred. Even if his reason for hating the Cooper Gang isn't fleshed out at all, though, he's a really imposing villain and his voice is a large part of that.
I always have issues on the last part because I always trip the alarms. I now feel beyond stupid bc I never even thought about landing on them. I'm now going to sit in a corner and think about how much I fked up til now (I've played this game for years and ya girl is 23, so soak that in, that's my irritation 😂)
don't feel bad I'm 25.. 26 next month just got done beating this after a billion tries coz the stupid alarm killing me over and over not realizing what i had to do.. i downloaded all 4 sly games awhile back to prove to myselfi could beat them all with no help coz as a kid i had no patience and would let friends who were better at games than me do it for me on frustrating missions or bosses which i regeretted deeply so as an adult decided to give em a go JUST beat this one literally ugh he took me forever. i still suck to this day i have beaten 1 2 and 4 now i still say 2 is without a doubt the hardest game this one may have toed it though now... 4 is the easiest of em. but I'm proud of myself finally beat 3 of the 4 sly games completely by myself beginning to end all missions no help lol. these games are amazing but god they put my anxiety thru a roof!
omfg i didn't know u could land on all the laser tops my god i only landed on the last one i coulda spiraled into all 3 and ignored the lazers altogether ugh how frustrating!
Omg that was a problem for me too but for me the part I’d always get stuck on was at 3:37 where you have to walk on the edge of that boulder looking thing. His shock ray things always caught up to me. And then after that was the traps. I suddenly remembered earlier from the previous stage where you’re racing as the lava rises that you could spiral jump on those trap things.
And btw I’m 22 it’s nice to know there’s people my age still into this game 💕
weird. i beat this fight easily at 8 years old
Thank you for this. Long standing favorite.
I've always loved that tidbit at 0:19 where Clockwerk sighs and talks at the same time when complimenting Sly. It's unnatural, and shows how far he's gone in turning himself into a machine.

God, being able to smach his face into tiny pieces like that was even more satisfying than I remember. That big metal bird got fricken annihilated!
Knocking that fucker's head off into the lava never gets old
Nah son while I agree with your result I have to correct you on one thing. The Thievius Raccoonus doesn’t make great thieves… it take great thieves to make the Thieves Raccoonus!
I can’t help but feel that Sly’s origin story is similar to that of Fox McCloud from the Star Fox series.
(Or maybe that’s just me.)
Is it that they both lost their father's ?
@@wolfferrari4365 They both lost their parents to a crazed lunatic, Fox lost his family to Andross, a crazed exiled scientist while Sly’s parents were killed by Clockwerk, a crazed cyborg owl whose hatred of the Cooper Clan kept him alive throughout time.
They had to face the murderers of their families and destroy them for good. Fox McCloud is a mercenary pilot and leader of the Star Fox Team while Sly Cooper is a thief from a long line of Master Thieves. So their work may be different, but they both had a similar goal - Revenge.

@@Nighthawk6827 Tsk Tsk not revenge. They seek “ Justice”
I can't unsee that jet pack's Cannons look like eyes
The only thing that remains unsolved is what was Clockwerk's section of the Thievus Raccoonus, but if I had to venture a guess I would say maybe Sir Galleth's entry on how to perform the hook wall spring, which later gets introduced in Sly 2.
I think the Choice of Clockwerk as the final boss and villain is.....correct, since the Owls hunt raccoons in life.

I wonder why clockwork hates the coopers so much?
One of my favorite bosses and to this day still the only boss thay actually gives me the creeps. Like, all the kther bosses are basically motivated by greed. Evsn in the lster games. This is one of the few motivated by just straight up hate. And even then, theres something just WRONG about it. As i kid this level scared me because clockwerk was scary! I could sense even then that he was truly a monster unlike the other bosses.
