Saw that you repowered to twin 200 versos, which verado did you have on the boat when you were running the single engine? Did you lose much mpg going from the single to twins? Does the boat handle that much better with twins vs the original single you were running?
I purchased the boat new with a single Verado 275. It was a great motor and performed pretty good on the boat. I re-powered with the New 200hp v6 Mercury’s. Mercury doesn’t call them Verado’s just 4-strokes. The higher horsepower V8’s get the Verado Badge. The boat handles better now and with the additional weight (twins) on the transom the boat sits better in the water. With the 275 it was noticeably light on the transom. My fuel economy and performance has actually Improved going to twins, I’m using less fuel and going faster! I mention that after one of my offshore fishing trips. The key is getting them propped correctly. The boat is considerably more fuel efficient now because they engines are running lower RPM’s and going faster. I also alternate engines when trolling. Hope this helps. I’m very happy with the engines and they’ve exceeded my expectations.
@@spinfish1434 That impressive, I have a 25' Scout with a single Yamaha 225 and am nervous venturing that far off shore. Have you ever had any issues that far out?
@@stevecarter5949 We never had any problems offshore with the single however it was always on the back of my mind and reason I decided to repower with the twins.. Always good to have SeaTow. Four Strokes are extremely reliable and the likelihood of having a problem is minimal but I'm a little older now and not interested in chancing it anymore. I'll be posting another video in a few days, I fixed up an old Whaler fished it for years and had it offshore 85 miles.
Cool video. Been wanting to buy a that make and model to do some bay fishing. I live on the western shore. I have a 21 ft bass boat and fish a lot on the upper bay and Potomac.

Hi good job!
Thank You!
Great. Now I want to buy a boat!! I have always enjoyed fishing.
Great video man! New subscriber from MN. Contender 25T is my dream rig! Looking forward to the repower video!
Thanks! Repower video's are posted, Ep 5 will show Performance data!
Great video! How far offshore did you go in OC for the Mahi?
Most of the time we find them in the Canyons, usually 54 miles. Sometimes we will find them closer 35-40 miles if we come across some debris.
