It ends without explaining anything... Many things could work as a good twist here: perhaps the pills she takes are exatcly what is causing her hallucinations, perhaps the little girl is herself when young, perhaps there's no doctor, he's part of the hallucination, that's why she can never comunicate with him, etc... But it's too bad that we are left without any clue.
+Jimmy David I think it just leaves it up to the interpretation. The way I take it is that (SPOILERS) the little girl was a patient of hers who died (since she's a doctor too), and the ghost is the little girl seeking revenge. Which doesn't explain the pills, but they could be painkillers or for her anxiety or something.
@@Liza-ir8pp Leaving it up to interpretation is fine as long as the *author* takes on the job of making things connect (at least to some point). But when *everything* is left to interpretation it becomes lazy writing. It's impossible to distinguish between the work of a genius and the work of a writer who just gave up. And if i can't tell which is which... how am i supposed to evaluate it?
A Suggestion would be to set the color tone similar throughout the film. The dream sequence looks really good with blue tone. now i know the dream and reality have different temperature tones to distinguish one from another but after jumping from the nice looking cool tone of the dream, the warm shades of reality do not look good and create a sense of disorientation. a better idea would be to tone the shades of reality also cool and blue but not as much as in the dream sequence so the difference is clear but the overall shade of the film is similar.
It's very rare to come across a short-film so well made. I loved the way you crafted every frame, nothing was direct, it gave a strong feeling that someone is watching the protagonist through out. Also to mention that the way you played with lights was very interesting. Every element of your film complemented to make it look grand despite of being very simple. To be honest I didn't get horrified while watching it still I enjoyed the experience. Looking forward to watch more brilliant stuff from your end. Cheers
Thank god there's at least one horror short film where the acting isn't over the top. Ok there's a few but still. Nearly every film they're either being stupidly over the top or way too chill. So good story and great acting
Great flick. If I could offer one critique it's that the sound only has one perspective. No matter the camera angle or distance from the subject the sound is 100% the same level, with no changes. It jarred me out of my immersion a couple times.
+Todd Pund This was really well done and well shot. I sort of agree with the sound but it wasn't as major an issue to me. There is a small continuity error with the fridge magnets but it did not take away from the goose bumps. I look forward to seeing more of his stuff. I think I'm a fan.
+Bahaish Kapoor Another thing, when doing audio, you'll need to somehow make it sound like the audience is in the situation. It sounds like a voiceover.
Not bad, no jump scares so that's good, cheap horror if you ask me. It had a good premise and use of sounds to instill fear, the only thing though that could have ended it better is maybe on the final floor have the ghost standing behind her or something since she was getting closer. That's just me though.
Before I start my mini-review (that nobody asked for but I'm posting anyway), let me just announce to the world that I have a new screen crush. Monica Gill, you are absolutely adorable. This short is perfect for younger/newcomers to the horror genre. There's a fine line between trope and cliche, homage and generic. HI falls into the latter category, taking most of it's components from better films. I'm not completely polarized, hear me out. There's some stuff to be liked here; it's well-filmed, cool bridge location, decent atmosphere. Also I like how the director tosses us clear clues on the history of the ghost and her intentions/reasons for terrorizing poor Monica Gill (leave her alone you mean stupid ghost!). But everything else from the ghost's appearance, to the 'scares' and overall story are all borrowed from better films. Like I said, if you're new to the genre or prefer your horror light, you most likely dug this. But as a seasoned horror junkie, it just left me in the mood to watch The Orphanage. Wait, I take that back. It left me in the mood to Google Monica Gill.
King Complex There isnt much anyone can do to create "new" scares. Everything will be borrowed from now until the end of time. I thought the lady was a poor actress.
really good work... loved the scene when she sees the spirit in her room... that scene was really nice.... will be waiting for your next work... all the best :)
I have so many questions for this like who is the little girl and how did she die.....and why her mirrors were kind of being covered...and just so many more you but this was real good loved it
Makayla Smith I was wondering this too. Currently all we know is that the main character is a doctor (no idea what kind), that she works with children, and somehow knows a psychiatrist and has a ghost after her (who we know nothing about).
Makayla Smith The little girl died by - well, wait a sec... ***SPOILERS: DON'T READ MY COMMENT IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED*** Okay, where was I? Oh yeah. The little girl drowned and was haunting the Dr. because she didn't save her. That is why during the dream sequence she's standing on the collapsed bridge saying "You should've saved me...". Judging from the pills and her failed attempts at contacting her doctor, the woman Dr. has clearly been haunted by the girl for some time now - which explains the covered mirrors.
the other ghost girl Watch the film again closely, everything you need to know about the Dr. and ghost girl is shown in clear detail. Or...just read my reply to OP ^
+King Complex Considering the woman is a doctor, I don't think the girl died by drowning. More likely she was a patient she couldn't save, or didn't save. It could even be her own daughter.
I have to say I loved this! I watch a lot of short horrors and this one was very well made! One thing to point out is makeup. It sticks out when a female actress is at home late at night with freshly applied makeup. For night scenes, use less blush because the effect it creates under dim/scary lighting is distracting. Other than that I liked the premise and there was a genuinely creepy vibe.
The direction of this flick was commendable barring the miniature of the insidious old lady, talaash plot (amir khan-2012), and predictive story. The director knows his art well. kudos.
the one thing this short film did was make people think. it made the viewer interested. this (short film) would be a good trailer for a full length movie . i'd watch it.
8 points for the effort and cinematography +1 point for actually leaving the damn house... +1 point for the ghost black dress instead of the cliche white 5:12 - very predictable door close/ghost appearance; -1 point for that cliche Very beautiful protagonist... What's her facebook? :)
Bahaish Kapoor Hey, you make very scary movies! But I would like it more if it would have been a bit bigger. I was thirrled in the last scene. Plz tell the back story. How the little girl died? It would have been awesome. Anywayzz your movie was excellent. All the best! :D
First horror movie where the character/person actually gets out of the house after seeing creepy stuff. So plus points for that!
+Shreya S Thank you. Even I used to cringe at horrors where the protagonists just sit around, waiting for shit to happen to them!
+Bahaish Kapoor true true, i hate those
That means these things exists?
Why do I read the comments before watching the Video till the end? ._. Ty 4 spoil
+Bahaish Kapoor didn't get the story man, seems incomplete, sequel coming?
Good horror but I m unable to understand what is happening actually and why?
hope another part will explain
Love how the water bottle is magically upright in the next shot at 5:00. That's just freakin perfect.
Concept (Hi). Great 👏👏👌👌👌
Thank you so much 🙂
The moment when the little girl talked.... I was like,‘ mom! Where are you?' 😂😂😂😂👍🏻😅😅😅😨
It ends without explaining anything...

+Ej G. The pills are probably for schizophrenia she thought she was seeing things and she wanted to be admitted.
Jimmy David right, and why was the girl saying "you could've helped me"....strange
Nice to

Oscar winning background horror genre sounds... Great job 🥇👍🏽
