i always forget "jesus in la" and "must have been the wind" are on this album because when i first started listening to him both of the songs were already out so i just clumped them together in the narrated for you bubble of his songs. it also feels like they've been around forever.
Alamo is my favorite because it makes me feel empowered and like I shouldn’t be afraid to stand up for what I believe in. Especially with everything going on in America right now, we need to all fight for justice and for whats right. I’m not black and I will NEVER understand what they have to go through on a daily basis. But i do know that how they are treated is wrong. And that we need to get rid of the systematic racism and oppression that we have in this country. As a white person in America i have to use my voice and use my privilege to help fight this injustice. And I will stand with and next to the black community to help them fight to fix those problems. Like Alec said, I’m not gonna give in. And if I have to fight, then I’m willing to give my life. I honestly would rather die then lay on my back and watch my fellow Americans and human beings be treated like this. I have no white flag to throw because we cannot lose this fight. And we won’t. We need to stand together and help uplift those who are being oppressed.
