I put a cup filled with change on the bottom of my blinds so if they get in, I’ll know. Also I put a piece of wood from the top of the window down to the lock so the window can’t be lifted open

My gut reaction is to use wood screws rather than nails. This is for a garage window which is never opened. Just wondering. Thanks.

Point no good. A crow bar will pry it open. A better way is putting 2x2's to stop the window from being pryed open.

That’s what I have been using for decades a 2x2 and nail it in with either a spiral shank nail or annular ring shank nail and good to go.

yes it should but i would suggest buying metal bit but wood bit should and will work on aluminum (aluminimum is very soft metal very cheap)
