After rediscovering this, I realize how ahead of it's time this simple demo really was. This stuff is so fresh to this very day. These guys should have been 1000 time more popular.

This demo was awesome when it was released 30 years ago. Taking influence from death and doom metal yet the band was active in the punk/hardcore scene breaking down the barriers between genres ,hell most of the punks from my scene all have turned into metal heads and doom freaks.
Me and my friend were looking through black Magic the Gathering cards and searching youtube to see if there's bands with the names of the cards and we found this. Fucking sick!!!! \m/
Never gets old! I'm not gonna say i listened to this gem as soon as it came out 'cause I'd be a liar but I was probably 15 and now I am 46 and still frequently turn to UA-cam ('cause it's the only freaking place I can find it) to listen to this beauty! Fucking kicks ass

Sòphìe You gotta be kidding me, just Shut the fuck up, you and other idiotic, superficial bitches are the reason why girls aren't respected in the scene, everyone thinks they're just in because they like guys with long hair when there's in fact some that actually like the music.
I spent more than a night at the OPD in the O.C. circle ‚- at least one of which was after driving home with this band's drum set toward Long beach (he and Dawn know what I mean) when I put out Mindrot's first 7" lol
So my favorite band currently is KICKER from Oakland. Turns out the guitar player was in Mindrot. Small fckn world. Our drummer used to make me drive around Orange Park Acres stoned out of our heads listening to this demo in his pick up truck. I don't particularly like crust, but I loved this tape because I had never heard anything like it before and because for a small local young band it was fckng hvy!
luis enrique hernandez fuentes. Si señor tenes razón, por más que quieran los sonidos de la vieja guardia nunca los podrán igualar por más que quieran o se esfuercen..
All of these songs are the same. Unintelligible growls laced with over-repetitive power chords and fast, asynchronous drumbeats. On the occasion where they do give the audience some breathing room to soak in the atmosphere of the guitar, like in 0:00 to 0:21 and 9:35 to 10:07, they immediately ruin the mood by screaming. I get that this kind of sound is supposed to be the signature of this genre of music, but it's used so often that it no longer becomes surprising, and thus doesn't leave an impact. If they lengthened the buildup and transitioned to the heavier sections more gradually, the vocals would've stood out more. Heck, they could've even added a callback to the lighter sections later on in those respective songs to make them seem more wholistic. As it stands now though, it sounds like a bowl of slightly perturbed oatmeal.
12ft Narcoleptic Panda I really don't have the energy for this but Listen to the Dawning album. And the Forlorn 12. I doubt you'd like the split 7"s very much 😊 That Soul lp is too polished for my gritty ears x
