I just drove my 2010 Ford Mustang premium convertible V6 5 speed from Niagara Falls to Los Angeles down Route 66 . We then drove up the PCH to SAN Francisco and back to Niagara Falls . The car ran flawlessly even in mountainous terrain at altitudes of 8500 feet. The 5 speed tranny although a pain in the cities , gave the car a feeling of driving a sports car on twisty mountainous roads. The car handled so well in wet/dry and hot conditions because of the new Michelin Pilot Sport tires........far superior to the original tires. My car had 30,000 miles on it when we left and 39000 on our return. Great car, great trip.
Granted, the 3.7 kicks this old motor's ass, but bear in mind, the 4.0 came around when there was no Camaro or Challenger to compete with, so no need for super performance.
Damn thank god they got the new 3.7 v6 that not only has MORE power but is more fuel efficient as well and im definitely looking into buying a mustang with that powertrain in late 2012! I mean why couldnt they do that in the first place???
@troyblexicanforever I know the feeling. I own an 05 V6. It's not as bad of a motor as everyone thinks. Yeah, I wish it had more power and better efficiency, but it's a strong motor and has enough power for everyday use.
@TheGtracer1994 Great point, but I have no Idea why everyone treats the 4.0 and 4.6 liter mustangs like the ugly stepchild. When the 05 to 10 mustangs came out everyone hopped in the bandwagon and got the v6 or GT anyway.
I have one of these with the stick faster than a 5.0 I had in 93. love it!

The top does take up a lot of trunk space.
Audis are beautiful cars but cost three times to buy maintain and break down three times as often, If you have more money and more patience Buy one!
It's never the other way around with fuel economy, manuals are more efficient,hey need no hydraulic pump to work.
