Actually, he doesn't!!! I owned a 2013 GT/CS. Rocker panels are same as the GT and you could get the side scopes on a GT package along with the same rear spoiler.
There are people who like to cruise instead of playing with the stick shift all day. They don't just buy a Mustang for performance. They want a car they can use for fun and everyday commuting.
A child could also drive a manual, it's not that hard...The point is not everyone wants to get a workout with their leg everytime they drive like you said. Sometimes its better to just sit in the car and let the car work its magic.
Mustangs have always been about value as much as they are about muscle. They are the blue collar sports cars of the world. Ford spends most of their time getting you a great engine, good handling, and then keeps the interior among other things more on the cheap plasticy side, which is what keeps the price low.
I remember watching this when I was looking into getting my 2014 GT back in ‘14!! She is still in my garaged looking like a new car. I got exactly what was advised in this video and I love that car!!
I have a 2012 California special automatic & love it.........manuals are fun but shifting gets old....I don't intend on racing it OR TAKING IT TO THE TRACK ...just enjoy the way it looks , comfy interior, blue tooth /mp3 stereo , 5.0 V8 & decent gas mileage
Old thread but I agree (I drive a 2010 Camaro SS.) The interior is very cheap (plastics wise) and the rear deck rattles like I have 2 15" subs when bass hits yet it was stock. Now that I have one 10" Kicker sub it sounds like the car's falling apart in the back so I don't even really listen to music in it. It's very fast, but feels cheap inside. The challenger has a very nice interior (the new ones) and the Mustang's is very good if you get the premium package. If not, it's shit.
Tyler Beeson at least you have a nice power plant tho ;) I feel you on the interior rattling I had a 08 ls3 c6 vette and it rattled like CRAZY in the doors especially the subs in the door. I have a 13 gt and love it but I like Maros too so I'm not biased here 👍
This guy is Chevy fan, you can tell when he talks about PADDLE shifting. OMG why have a Chevy fan do a Ford review, you get from him what you would expect WOW!!!! I have owned 6 Mustangs and all of them have been bad ass. This 2011 to 2013 in my professional opinion is friggin off the charts HOT!!!
I agree. I bought a 2010 GT last year and it's an automatic. I got a hell of deal on it! I also live in Kansas City where the traffic blows! I do wish it was a proper 6 speed but oh well. The bright side is automatic transmission can shift faster than a human.
Which let you shift upper down, Then the new hot was an automatic, The shifter has a M letter on it. Which turns the car into a manual, Then all day fun with paddle shifters on the Steering wheel.
yes i'll agree but still driving manual is still a lot more fun and you can feel, control, and work the car more easily and efficiently. Have u ever driven stick?
if youre shopping for this car. i dont recommend the premium unless you get a GREAT deal on it. i bought the base GT with the track package, which has a lot of the Boss302 performance upgrades. the $4k for the premium is just a few gadgets in the dash and body options that you should be customizing in the aftermarket anyway
exactly. all the fastest cars have auto's. i understand if a person prefers stick but the auto's of today are lightyears ahead of what they we're 20yrs ago.
It still uses a live rear axle. More or less its a steel beam connecting the rear wheels together. So lets say you hit a bump in the road on your left rear tire, with a live axle it will cause the right tire to bounce up in the air to causing the car to "bunny hop" on rough roads. Most cars if not all cars except the mustang have Independent rear suspension. Meaning the rear tires move freely from one another preventing the "bunny hop" effect.
I love people who watch a CNET Car Tech review, then complain about it focusing on Tech. I have to assume you geniuses don't actually know what CNET is.
He also didnt talk about the 289 390 and 428cj the old CS used to get. and the package was the shelby performance package. He needs to brush up on his history a little bit.
Also since the genesis R is at the same price point as a gt the genesis is not in the same league as the mustang. And the 2L turbo genesis is blown away by the v6 mustang at the same price point.
Simply not true. Funny for a car that supposedly cannot handle it handles as good as the BMW M3 on the track. The SS's motor and the Mustang GT motor are both rather safe up to 700 crank, but since the SS has a higher drive train loss, the GT actually can handle more power at the wheels than the Camaro can.
LOL @ "bridges the gap between car and airplane over rough pavement" ahahaha...I love Brian! I honestly feel bad for anyone buying this car with that live rear axle...
For all you country boys whose only traffic is an occaional cow crossing the road, the automatic does wonderful in a city, manuals just fail in cities, constant shifting in bumper to bumper traffic.
I just got a new gt manual. I know it could be a little faster with an auto and a tune but I didn't feel like voiding my waranty or waiting 6 years to feel like I'm driving a sports car. Without the tune the auto is no comparison to the manual.
I went to the ford dealership not to buy but justto drive. No manuals on the lot fr anything. They dont carry them. I said am I the only person asking? They said they get tons of people asking but the dealer owner thinks that the manual is outdated. I left.
"Bridging the gap between automotive and airplane when you go over really rough pavement" What? Someone explain please? I really want a mustang to replace my PT.
Please review the Cadillac XTS 2013 with CUE tech; platinum edition. I want to hear your thoughts on it. To be frank, I'm surprised I haven't seen this one on CNET this year as it's tech package is superior than anything on the show this year Brian. Until next show. Audios!
I owned a 13 GT/CS in Deep Impact Blue. I had the 6 speed manual. First thing I noticed was the crappy AS tires. Immediately swapped them out for 255 P-Zero summer tires. Why in the world would Ford EVER put those tires on a Mustang GT at all??? I loved that car though (after the tire swap).
Love my 2014 GT premium with the electronic package, race red, glass top, heated seats/ mirrors, .3.73 diff. , etc. no engine tick or trouble trans shift from 2/3rd fork like you see on the new models(2015-2019) mustangs , just you-tube the issues for the new models, not good.
of course they are going to advertise there automatic with select shift more features, costs more.. no point to advertise a manual we all know what to expect with one... the automatic is shifting faster that we humans can actually use the clutch and shift... auto GT will smoke a manual GT driver any day unless the manual guy has a lot of mods
have u not seen review videos? the 5.0 is faster hahahah the SS a huge engine but its slower...why do u think camaro fans got all pissed when the 5.0 came back
Psst...I have a similar 2011 Mustang GT. A word to the wise, never, ever get caught in a snow storm with the darn thing. I wasn't paying attention to the weather one day last winter and got caught in a 4" snow storm with it. I was like "I am a genius, I have 2 4x4's sitting in my driveway, I am 40 miles from home with 4" of fresh snow and this stupid Mustang"...LOL!
I can't believe what Ford did with the 2013 Mustang automatic. The first thing was trip Tronics. Which is an automatic, That let you move the shifter over
People with one leg or prosthetic leg... I can't feel a clutch pedal, kind of defeats the purpose. The auto is just fine for me. Do I wish I could get a stick? Yup, but if that's all they had I couldn't own one.
Id only be hesitant to buy any used car with a manual transmission because of previous owners redlining it in every gear. Most dont even put into sport mode to do so in an auto.
Id only buy a car with a manual transmission uf it was BRAND NEW. Everyone who owns/test drives a manual usually redlines it in every single gear...not so much in an automatic. So engines in automatics are always less worn out
the automatic is an upgrade. It comes standard manual. watch the video. stop trolling. and the interior is actually pretty decent for a muscle car. much better than what the camaro has. i never seen a challenger so cant compare
modern manuals are easy. a child could operate one. try operating a 475 hp. 1964 Impala SS pro tourer w/ a mechanical clutch in Minneapolis rush hour. my left leg was getting a workout. Manual trans. is all about the driving experience and getting more connected to your car. Otherwise, drive a Prius.
Hey Ford, here's a concept... Why not put flappy paddles on the steering wheels instead of that LAME +/- on the gear shifter. I mean get with the times!!!
It's 2019 now, and my 2013 Mustang GT premium still running like champ.Great car!
Mileage
Looking to get onetoojeje
My 2013 GT was and is one of my all time favorite cars. Traded it in for a 2013 Viper GTS
2021 and my ‘14 gt premium still the star of the universe
This guy knows his stuff !!!!!!
Actually, he doesn't!!! I owned a 2013 GT/CS. Rocker panels are same as the GT and you could get the side scopes on a GT package along with the same rear spoiler.
"a lot of stuff that doesn't make you go faster but look like you are"
lol
My favorite car reviewer on yt, just cuts to the chase!
I’ve had 6 mustangs including my current 2018 6 speed manual 5.0. The 2013 5.0 6 speed manual with 3.73 differential was my favorite.

I always watch "Car Tech" as part of my vehicle research process.
Rick Gonzalez nothing wrong wit that
Same here minus the cs. Mine is a premium GT Auto and I love it.
If shifting gets old, you are a passenger. You are not a driver.
@@michaelp8476 Well said!
"Alot of stuff that makes you look like you go faster..."
So.... essentially.... the California Special is a riced out GT?
you can still manually change gears, its just with your thumb there is a + FOR upshift and - for down
Brian says it like it is and doesn't hold back . No B.S. Very good reviewer. Awesome car!
6:36 $31,000.000?
It has the best interior compared to camaro and challenger imo.
The SRT8 Challenger (which my dad drives) actually has a pretty nice interior.
+Erik Jamin it doesn't even have a usb port, it was so far behind in terms of tech.
+Alfonso Flores if you're talking about the mustang, it does have usb. it's in the console. along with charge port and aux port.

Manual is the way to go.
Sojiro176 don't start shit
too bad its the truth
I agree. I bought a 2010 GT last year and it's an automatic. I got a hell of deal on it! I also live in Kansas City where the traffic blows! I do wish it was a proper 6 speed but oh well. The bright side is automatic transmission can shift faster than a human.

Great review! very knowledgable, funny and witty guy. I thought he would be completely clueless but he proved me wrong.

31,000.000 ??? and what about mpg?
Brian, love to watch your reviews, greating from Poland!
I love people who watch a CNET Car Tech review, then complain about it focusing on Tech. I have to assume you geniuses don't actually know what CNET is.
how hard would it be to lose 600 lb. in this car with out making the interior look like crap? lighter wheels, maybe replace the glass top, etc.etc.
He also didnt talk about the 289 390 and 428cj the old CS used to get. and the package was the shelby performance package. He needs to brush up on his history a little bit.

Brian for president!
LOL @ "bridges the gap between car and airplane over rough pavement" ahahaha...I love Brian! I honestly feel bad for anyone buying this car with that live rear axle...
What happened? Usually manual gets better mpg.
this guy is great!!
That's a pretty bold statement. What do you drive?
Agreed. Tune wakes the autos up big time.
For all you country boys whose only traffic is an occaional cow crossing the road, the automatic does wonderful in a city, manuals just fail in cities, constant shifting in bumper to bumper traffic.
At times I think he should just check the tech; mildly maligned the 'stang right when it got 5.0 needed to catch up with Camaro SS 6.2. 😮💨
I wish Ford would’ve made the glass roof slide back over the back window like Lincoln did the MK-Z panoramic roof.
I just got a new gt manual. I know it could be a little faster with an auto and a tune but I didn't feel like voiding my waranty or waiting 6 years to feel like I'm driving a sports car. Without the tune the auto is no comparison to the manual.
Challenger SRT8 next, I know I know, but might as well finish the trio
its faster than manual so more for track people
The camera is an awkward angle with the E-brake
I went to the ford dealership not to buy but justto drive. No manuals on the lot fr anything. They dont carry them. I said am I the only person asking? They said they get tons of people asking but the dealer owner thinks that the manual is outdated. I left.

0-60 time is incorrect. It's actually 4.3.
nice rim
I owned a 13 GT/CS in Deep Impact Blue. I had the 6 speed manual. First thing I noticed was the crappy AS tires. Immediately swapped them out for 255 P-Zero summer tires. Why in the world would Ford EVER put those tires on a Mustang GT at all??? I loved that car though (after the tire swap).
Not to mention the pony looks and sounds better :)
But comparing the GT to the R-spec isn't fair. He should compare the R-spec to the Shelby ;)
Love my 2014 GT premium with the electronic package, race red, glass top, heated seats/ mirrors, .3.73 diff. , etc. no engine tick or trouble trans shift from 2/3rd fork like you see on the new models(2015-2019) mustangs , just you-tube the issues for the new models, not good.
why did they get the automatic to do the review? why not the manual? he obviously doesn't approve. should of just gotten the stick to begin with
ford chooses what to give them.
well ford was a dumbass in this case then.
of course they are going to advertise there automatic with select shift more features, costs more.. no point to advertise a manual we all know what to expect with one... the automatic is shifting faster that we humans can actually use the clutch and shift... auto GT will smoke a manual GT driver any day unless the manual guy has a lot of mods
the mustang is now available in the philippines
If this video isn't available in my country, youtube, then you shouldn't recommend it to me.
DI with Manual. That'd be golden.
I agree with you, but it's a shame about the manual transmission problems that will occur in the future. Or so I've heard.
We don't have those in the US....
i watch cnet for Bridget Carey, Brian Tong, and Brian Cooley.
have u not seen review videos? the 5.0 is faster hahahah the SS a huge engine but its slower...why do u think camaro fans got all pissed when the 5.0 came back
Well no shit a zl1 camaro is another level but the Shelby gt 500 will beat the zl1
It has a 10% faster 0-60 and costs 10-15K less.
"no paddles and no slap shift" completely misses select shift
Psst...I have a similar 2011 Mustang GT. A word to the wise, never, ever get caught in a snow storm with the darn thing. I wasn't paying attention to the weather one day last winter and got caught in a 4" snow storm with it. thank you for your opinion, we all really care about it. go drive your ricer.
Funny but honest review I've seen so far, I like it!
Um those are Cougar not Thunderbird taillights
I can't believe what Ford did with the 2013 Mustang automatic. The first thing was trip Tronics. Which is an automatic, That let you move the shifter over
addin molly and sharon to top it off!!
Awesome mustang!
automatic on a mustang? furrealz?
I agree but that would have an adverse effect on sales, not everyone is a purist like us.
I like these reviews
Hey when are you guys posting a review on the 2013-2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500?
That wheel gap tho lol I berly got a 2013 mustang gt looks like these but mines a v8 5.0
In the real world, you wouldn't complain about not being able to shift gears when you pay $1,200 to remove the manual mode...
Clean up on ile everywhere...there's drool all over my keyboard...
Every car you review you always have to find one thing you hate about it
and what about the Camaro Z28?
People with one leg or prosthetic leg... I can't feel a clutch pedal, kind of defeats the purpose. The auto is just fine for me. Do I wish I could get a stick? Yup, but if that's all they had I couldn't own one.
Id only be hesitant to buy any used car with a manual transmission because of previous owners redlining it in every gear. Most dont even put into sport mode to do so in an auto.
They send CNet the cars, not them buying it.
Is he Doug demuros dad???
Id only buy a car with a manual transmission uf it was BRAND NEW. Everyone who owns/test drives a manual usually redlines it in every single gear...not so much in an automatic. So engines in automatics are always less worn out

please feature the Kia K9..
How can you complain about not being able to shift the car when you get the freakin automatic!
make video on the new 300s
still waiting for him 2 do the Altima
Cool, what are you studying? I'm getting a £100k loan to become a pilot next year
Well, it's true, not every American can afford a $50,000+ car. Besides, when on Earth would you use all 662 HP in everyday traffic?
it has a hydraulic clutch... i dont think it takes that much effort
The CS looks almost completely the same as the GT. idk. the 2013's are a bit too flashy. 2012's all day!
I guess this was before the new manual turned out to be trash
Great Review. Thanks Cooley!
