@@JustinRevesJust 120Hz Capability. It's odd, it's a recently released Sony X90K Bravia, and on my PS5 Monitor does not allow me to add the new 1440p. A shame, but at least I can play 120fps with VRR format. But the real thing is that I don't really understand the 3840 x 2160 -120Hz displayed, as it does not state 120Hz at 1080p.
I’m years later but I thinking of buying this monitor for my ps5. My question is that..will I be able to use 120hz by enabling it through the ps5 and monitor or do I need to buy a desktop and enable it that way first I’m confused on these things
Since this video was made, Playstation released an update to also support 1440p at 120hz (not just 1080p at 120hz when this video was made) so now most new monitors support 120hz for consoles at either 1080p or 1440p or often both. You can double-check the manual in advance on the monitor you are looking to buy by going to the back of the manual and looking under supported resolutions and making sure you see either 1920x1080 at 120hz or 2560x1440 at 120hz. Then you just have to put your PS5 in Performance Mode and make sure you're playing a game that supports 120hz and you should be good.

*I was interested in buying this monitor, I notice it has a 5ms responce time, will that be to slow or a problem when I play games like warezone* ?????
No. Response time is largely marketing. Monitors with the same response time can perform way different in real life. I also have a 1ms TN panel and I can’t tell the difference between that and this. It also has a 1ms mode which I’ve been using but also can’t tell a difference.
I have a Samsung LC27JG56QQNXZA, checked the manual; it supports 1080p at 120 FPS over HDMI (both HDMI ports). Check your manual on the last couple pages to see what resolutions and timings are supported. Look for 1920x1080 at 120hz. If it’s not there, then it’s not supported. Lots of ultra wide displays or older 1440p monitors don’t support it but your manual will tell you.

Hi, I've got a question, if I buy a Samsung 32inch G5 Oddyssey, will it be able to run 120hz 120fos straight away on Ps5, or do I have to do anything extra to enable it or do I just make sure the ps5 setting are correct?
I just bought the exact same monitor and I have the same question since the monitor is HDMI 2.0 and the PS5 is 2.1. Will it still be able to run at 120 HZ because the monitor supports 144hz.
@@iitzkakashi2109 HDMI 1.4 can handle 1080p/120hz. HDMI 2.0 can do that plus 4K/60hz. HDMI 2.1 can do 4K/120hz. Both sides have to be the same or else it always drops to the lowest common denominator. So PS5 will only output what 2.0 can handle if a 2.0 monitor is connected.
@@JustinReves HDMI2.0 can do 1440p/120hz only, not 4K! that's why everyone when they enable 120hz the resolution goes down to 1080p because ps5 doesn't support HDMI2.0-1440p so it downscales it to 1080p, unless u have HDMI2.1-4K then u can run 120hz with 4k and also i suggest to turn ur HDR on when supported and also on ur TV choose HDMI enhanced format

No. A 165hz monitor just means it CAN support UP TO 165hz, but it all depends on what your computer or console supports, as well as the games. I.e. a PS5 only supports either 60hz or 120hz so you will never get 165hz. But even to do 120hz on a PS5, you need to be playing a game that supports 120hz. Not all do.

Just got my edid in and I can 100% confirm it works. Before you plug it in, make sure HDR is off, HDCP is off, and your resolution is in 1080p. Plug the HDMI into the edid and plug the edid into the ps5 itself. Now just enjoy 120 fps AND 120 hertz on supported games
Try plugging into the other HDMI port on the back of the monitor. And then just confirm you’re playing a game that supports 120hz on your PS5 like Warzone. And if that doesn’t work, contact their support.

Hi, I have the same monitor as yours and using it to my PS5 as well. However, I was wondering when the resolution was set to automatic, it reflects as 4k resolution. Is it just a bug or it is really a 4k? Thank you so much.
It’s not a bug.. ur monitor must be 1440p. ‘Automatic’ means it’s in 2160p. It’s upscaled. Basically it’s just 1440p. But u’ll be stuck at 60fps. So put it in 1080p if u really need 120fps. Otherwise don’t change anything.

PS5 doesn’t run 240hz - only 120hz and only over HDMI. So check the manual for your monitor to see if the HDMI on it supports 1920x1080 at 120hz. If it goes, then you’re good to go.

As long as the G5 supports 120hz over HDMI, you’ll be good!

So if I have, for example, a 165hz monitor and if I set it, it will immediately switch the monitor to 165hz?
Not all do.
Does it only work for Warzone or do you then need to get a hdmi 2.1 port and hdmi 2.1 port monitor for different games that support 120 fps ?
This will work for all 120hz PS5 games.
