They couldn`t afford the original L actor(Outside of flashbacks and video camera footage) especially because the actors in the earlier films were J-Rock and J-Pop stars.
Also, you do realize even DNA can age, do you not? That`s one of the challenges of human cloning(Even if you put aside the ethical and religious implications involved).Control groups have demonstrated the more you replicate cells, the faster they age, degrade and die.Look up telomeres if you don`t believe me.
Ryuzaki calls himself a clone, but also says he was made from IVF, meaning test tube baby, so I think the implication is that he was being self deprecating.
R.I.P. Masayuki Arai/Ryuzaki/L II.

Agree
Don't forget Mello!
good
The only thing that kind of bothered me about this movie is if Ryuzaki is L’s dna and clone than shouldn’t he of looked like L.

@@video-warehouse-s8973 Yep, he was just another Wammy orphanage kid the OG L helped Watari and Roger raise part-time like Near,Mello and many others.
@@video-warehouse-s8973 That would also fit with his last line, "Our names are...so ordinary."
