There is no way I would use that construction adhesive on the walls. Get some Command Strips that way you can remove the mirrors if you want to redecorate again and you won't damage the walls. Command Strips can hold up to 14 pounds some even more. Thanks for the video.
lidsman22 right!! Really can't believe Mama Cornstar would recommend that to hang mirrors. 😧
I would suggest putting the furniture in before decorating the walls.
Yes, 3m command strips- the Velcro ones cause then it’s easier to move them if you need to!
Probably too late, this was filmed awhile ago. Mama Cornstar seems to have recommended it!
guys it really don't matter because they will have to gut the room to repair and upgrade the electric,so go for it Nava!!!!
Who else hears Daddy Cornstar's wit and wisdom when Summer is talking to Nave?
Nave I'm glad you got stuck in the snow and Cole helped you out, you are part of a great family because of it. Happy belated birthday.
Oh yes... Summer has the quick wit like DC and grandma 😂
Thank you so much! ☺️
Those old wood floors are amazing!!
Hey nave its great to see you and Cole moving forward with your lifes together , It looks like your a great asset to him and the farm , a hard working young lady thats not afraid to get your hands dirty and willing to learn something new , daddy cornstar must be proud to know that the farm will be in good hands with you 2
Just like the video's before they start, it supports your favorite UA-cam people! We need them more than ever!
Happy Birthday, Nava! You are so cute and so funny!
I’m a Realtor and always looking at things concerning property value and design. Here are some thoughts and I know you didn’t ask so take it or leave it. If those are plaster walls, folks used to hang a bar across the top of the wall and just hang things from the bar with wire, or ribbons in order to protect the plaster. It looks very elegant! If you glue the mirrors you will have to redo the plaster or the drywall, one day, when you want to make a change. It’s such a rare gem - that Victorian house, I would study Victorian design and try to stay in keeping with that style. It can be made more youthful than one might expect too! Anyway, have so much fun decorating that beautiful Victorian home and have an awesome birthday!
I’ve had plaster walls myself and you only want to put a nail or screw in a place you know will likely forever want to use. I like the Command Strips idea in the comments section. :)
It’s her boyfriend’s house and he said he’s going to take care of that on his channel. :)
SMG - that’s a strange comment
Non and tube wiring no doubt. It’s very rare to have a house this age I these times that hasn’t been damaged by past owners great ideas 😬. At the top of old Victorian houses of this time many of them used picture moldings. Ran the top of wall just off ceiling so there can be hooks that catch lip and cables attached as you mentioned. I’ve been in business of restoring historical houses and commercial buildings for over 35yrs. Done many iconic buildings as well as homes. Using screw in plaster will usually blow player out around the hole as it bites in unless a pre drill even then can be unlucky. Hard nails is the simplest resort. Stronger harden steel won’t bend and drive right in. Even on interior/outside walls were your house is usually plaster lathed onto brick. Interior walls are wood lath strips with plaster. Kitchen/ bathroom tiled walls are a whole other heap of heavy and thick materials. From wire mesh etc.
Thank you so much and thanks for the advice! I'll be keeping this in mind! ☺️
Command Strips for those mirrors would be better. That construction adhesive will ruin the walls. If you ever break one of those mirrors on the wall, might happen, it will take chunks out of the wall when you remove it. Going to be cute though. peace and love, y'all
Do you live there as well?
When you need to move heavy things, put them on a rug or towel and drag them. Saves your back.
I would love to help design your rooms.
Keep breathing Nave!! Calm down
Those plastic disc shaped furniture movers are awesome. Ive permanently attached a set to the bottom (unseen from front) of my heavy antique trunk so I could rearrange without marring my floors.
@@karenrobres6181 The furniture movers are truly a blessing. I even use them at work to move 5 drawer filing cabinets with ease, empty of course. It would be a bit difficult to get the movers under them if full. :)
Such a great idea about moving things, your back will thank you later, so will your floors
Nave is always excited and very up. She is the sort to be a successful farm girl.
DO NOT use construction adhesive on any wall, it will make it permanent. If something were to happen and you have to take it down, it will damage the wall. Use the strips that everyone else is suggesting or use mirror hangers found at your Home Depot, Lowe's, or whatever you have in your area.
@MJ you don't watch their videos
@MJ Wow, watch their videos. They are dating.
Nooooo, please don't use glue to hang the mirrors. Those seem to be really thin mirrors and removing them at some point would be a nightmare and destroy those beautiful old walls. Ive seen other people suggest command strups and I think thats a great idea. Im excited to see the finished room!
3:24; Nava; you were armed with a vacuum. no spooder survives the slurp.
assert yourself young lady; suck it up.
(the spooder, that is...) :D
You and Summer are too funny!
I worry about using adhesive on walls, possibly ruin them if and when you may want to remove them someday, and the mirrors would break in pieces.
Great project!!! Love your content and Cole’s Of course!!! Please make a whole renovation/restoration series!!!!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Hey Nave! 🌞I agree with the command strips. I have used the, for several years! Keep on smiling! I can see God working through your personality! God Bless both you & Cole!
Thought I'd let you know. Lowes sells mirrors in many sizes without a frame. Mostly used for bathroom walls or replacement. Can use for what ever you want.
Hope you had a great birthday Nave! May God bless you with many, many, many more happy, healthy and fun birthdays to come!🎂🎉🎈💐🥳👩🏼🌾🚜🙏🏻❤️
Thank you so much! ☺️
Nice to see from your perspective, Nave. Can’t wait to see your ideas make the house a home.
You 2 are Great .Enjoy this time, yrs fly by so fast!Reminds me of Friends farm house they rented back in their 20s. Be 25 yrs or more now ,the 90s.Subscribed to both yours and Coles videos.
I love the back & forth & indecision! Fun & real! ❤️❤️🙏❤️❤️
Hi Nave! I'm Tina and in college like you :) I am so glad you are decorating!! I cannot wait to see it all done.
Absolutely admire you guys for not painting over the Natural Wood Trim. Just because the house is Victorian doesn't mean you can't have different themes for each room.
That table is amazing, it’s mid century modern style! I love it ❤️
Omg Nave you and Summer made my day had me laughing you in your mini pool. I can’t wait to see your project. I just want to help. I love to redo rooms. I am so in love with the house the wood trim . I can picture sheer curtains blowing in the wind with window open lol.
Summer and Nave, this video needs a warning label reminding us older people to pause the clip to be able to catch our breath from laughing so much. Both of you are class acts and together are just "off the charts'.
Nave’s channel completes cole’s they just work together! Keep the content flowin!!
Nave i'm already exited for part 2
No construction adhesives to hold up mirrors. There are special clips for mirrors that will minimize wall damage, they are typically used for hanging bathroom mirrors. Also you local glass shop will probably sell mirrors that would fit the space more exactly for a very reasonable price.
Short term memory loss! LOL, I laughed so much with your shopping spree.
Great video your so full of life and energy . Your doing a great job in decorating the room and house ..🌝🌝🌝🌝🌝🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞
I just got an aluminum stock tank to use as a pool today!! They last forever and don't break like plastic kiddie pools and they come in lots of sizes. I got a 4ft long by 2ft wide and 2ft deep and it's perfect for one person!!! Best 100 dollars I've ever spent
Happy belated birthday Hneiva. Well, we know how Cole feels about buying things and have seen a little of him shopping. A video of these two should be quite . . . adventuresome? Can't wait for that. You and Cole are a matched set. And Summer? Thanks!
If you hate throwing out paint rollers and brushes because you have to take a short break, then stop it. Simply get the 2 gallon zip lock bags and place the rollers inside and put in the fridge till the next day. If you get little dried gobs, on your wall you'll have to scrape the roller or get a new one. Works great for brushes also. New brush gets wet with water before use, easier to clean when done. Use a pour shield on paint bucket. for .99 cents it's great.
I 💘 the house . The woodwork is amazing & all the improvements that you & Cole are just making it come to life. Also Happy Belated Birthday I'm also a June baby(5th). God Bless you & Cole & your families.💖🎂🍨🎁🎈🎊🎉
Thank you so much! ☺️
Wow, congrats on being at 30,000 + subs, your energy is contagious and refreshing. Your happiness is well conveyed through your video, great job !!
Hello Nave, i am from Canada and i am french so if there a misspell sorry for that, i have a tip to move big chairs, sofa ect, put a covered under and just slips where ever you whant it , dont need stong muscle... stay safe :)
I love your sense of humor love the videos and yall
Your videos always brighten my day. You, Cole, and DC are awesome, thanks for making videos :)
Girl just hang up the mirrors in their frames using 3m strips. I shudder at the thought of using a glue on the walls. I mean I’m shook!
I love your “can do” attitude, whether it’s starting a garden, cleaning out the many areas in and around the farmhouse, driving large scary farm vehicles and now decorating rooms!!! You are inspiring me to just go ahead and give things a try.😃
Short term memory loss....Summer, is so funny! Cannot wait to see what you're doing with those mirrors.
Those mirrors are very light (3 or 4lbs I believe?). I would just use 3M Velcro strips to hang them. Slightly more expensive than the adhesive you purchased, but they're extremely versatile and they won't damage the wall! I think some can handle 15-20lbs, too.
I can’t wait to see the big oak bed decorated in a bedroom ! It’s a beautiful Antique !! A beatiful rug and some beautiful bedding ! Lots of pillows and use Antiques from all over the house !! And please go to junk stores for some old baskets and glass wear and Antiques to decorate with ! I have some wonderful friends on IG that have older homes like this and you can get some wonderful ideals ! Please don’t do modern in this beautiful older home ! Good luck
Felt pads under feet furniture are a life saver on hard floors. They protect the floor but what's even better is you can easily move the furniture to vacuum, clean, rearrange, whatever. I get mine on Amazon or at Walmart. They make slick ones for carpet. I have them under every stick of furniture I own.
You 2 girls have so much fun.
Nave and Cole are so much alike. ADHD and talk all the time. Even wears Summer out.
Know what's worse than seeing a spider crawl across the floor?
Seeing 2 spiders walking across the ceiling above your head at night in bed
Love your excitement. It is so fun to decorate. One of my favorite things to do. Honestly from experience the mirrors will be more sturdy with the frames left on. The mirrors bend to easy without them. You can get small tile mirrors to form one big one. It may be a bit more expensive but easier to put up. Just an option for future. Try not to use a glue that is for construction it will damage the wall when you take off years to come. I hate to sound bossy or like you don't know what you are doing. In no way do I mean that. Just some friendly advice. I've learned to Google and utube things I want to do to see various ways to do something. I'm a single mom and now homeowner so I had to learn and do things totally on my own. That's what taught me to get various ideas on things. There are many utubers that do DIY projects too. So excited to see all the things you and Cole do to the home. Actually, that's how I found his channel. It was titled something like watch a 20 something year old clean and remodel an old farmhouse. Then I found out it wasn't just all that but still really enjoyed because I grew up on a farm too. No animals and not nearly as big. My dad made hay and grew corn, and oats then sold. He drove truck too. So it was just a hobby and a little extra money.
Sorry for blabbing. Looking forward to many more videos from you both.
Oh I would not hang those mirrors up with construction gorilla glue you will never get them off the wall they carry these strips by 3MM they're rectangle shape Velcrothat hasn't type of tape that you can hold gently and it will remove off wall when you are wanting me or down they come in all different sizes for different weight projects I have used them on these dressing mirrors before
Those mirrors are VERY fragile. If she uses Velcro strips, the mirrors will break when she later tries to separate the Velcro "hooks" from the "loops". The Command Strips may be ideal, but the picture hanging variety are also 2 pieces that stick together. She may have the same risk of breakage. No perfect solution. Go to a picture frame shop for their expert opinions. Of course, buy the product from them, as opposed to the discount place where you bought the mirrors, to "pay" for their advice. (You may end up using that adhesive to glue a 1/8" backing to each mirror.)
Also, when you hang them, move a temporary support under the mirrors so you will hang them perfectly level. (Unless you don't care.) Once you even *touch* the Velcro or Command Strip halves together, they are stuck. Again, the risk of breakage is very high if you try to reposition the mirrors. But as you say, "Things happen." Albert Einstein said, "Intellectuals solve problems, geniuses prevent them." I think you're a genius (with short term memory opportunities)! LOL
victoria palmer I use the Command strips and they are great. I even found a set that lets you put a metal plate with a pin sticking out horizontally for things like shelves that have keyhole openings to attach them to a wall.
Yes hang the framed mirrors with command hooks
Command strips are not hard to separate at all, a spatula slid between the 2 sides of velcro Easily separates them
Don't use Liquid nails to hang things. Command Hooks will work fine. The mirrors aren't that heavy. Besides, if I recall, the glue will dissolve the silvering on the mirror
Good heavens! Before you do anything, please, please, refinish the floors. It's pretty easy and it will make the room feel alive. I promise. Just try with one room and see what you think! Love you guys. Blessings.
Nice video Neva! Excited about watching you decorate 💕
Welcome to my life girl. First video I see of yours and I loved it. Thank you.
Dang 2 sided foam stick tape would of done the trick peal and stick. Those mirrors are lightweight plus the house is so beautiful you do not want to ruin the originality of it. Plaster can be repaired yet it’s just better as daddy 🌽 ⭐️ always says “right tool for the right job 🤓!
Construction adhesive is used quite a bit to hang bathroom mirrors. Not so much in bedrooms, but that's entirely up to you. You can get those same mirrors frequently at 2nd hand stores like Salvation Army and Goodwill as well as at many, many yard and garage sales. I'm interested in seeing which way you take it. If you remember your plans, seeing as how you suffer from short term memory loss. :)
Love you vids keep up the great work!🙂
Hey there
You could use the broken ones to cut down into nice desired pieces with a glass cutter .. or do like a mosaik collage thingy with the leftovers and give it a shape you desire🤙✌
You’re energy is amazing. You’re such a delight.
Looking forward to what you're doing in that room! 👍 it's so frustrating when you're in a project and something you want to use breaks! Anna is such a good supervisor. 🥰
Happy birthday Nave!
And use the vacuum to get the spider!
Thank you so much! ☺️
I've said it before, Cole is one lucky guy!
Cole better put a limit on his credit card oh boy. That was surprisingly entertaining. Cole has to be one of the most blessed young farmers out there. Happy birthday a couple days late.
Thank you so much! ☺️
I agree with the other people. Use command strips. It will stay and easily come down. I am sure it will look AMAZING!!!
Everyone is right, don't use construction adhesive. Check Dollar General for replacement mirrors.
I can't wait to see what you do to that room. The wall where the table is would be a good place to put the bed... stay safe.
I look forward to seeing the room finished ! Happy Birthday ! :)
Thank you so much! ☺️
Nava you can get mirror clips in the hardware department at Walmart. To hang them up with. Put them on the bottom and top. The constitution adhesives will desr
I cannot wait to see this room finished!!
proud of you on the spider....you did not run out of the room. you will be swatting them with your hand soon! or ignoring them.
You know what that means Nava, 7 years bad luck. Just kidding I hope you and Cole have a wonderful life great job on the decorating so far. Great vid
It means Snow ☺️
Good luck with remodel and projects, always fun
I love DIY projects!! Can’t wait to see how it turns out!!
You can save half of the mirror by getting a glass cutter and cutting above the break . good luck .
PS. I watch all of Cole's videos .
Warning don’t use that broken mirror...either one of them. That’s not going to look to good showing off a redo! I used command strips to hang one of those on my bathroom door works 👍 love you guys💞
I love that you are showing the glitches in your process. That way, we don’t feel so bad when it happens to us.
Oh well. At least you got a bucket :D Or, err you can use Summer's pool. Nave, please use Command Strips. I have a hundred year old house here on the Gulf and trust me, it's going to work better for you! Also, don't be afraid to put a big punch of color into the comforters, sheets and pillows. Those white walls are going to reflect a lot of light and paler colors will wash out on you. I put an aqua tiger stripe area rug under my bed (that I got 80% off at Macy's) and people walk in and love it.
With all of those mirrors, that room would be a really great place to get dressed and ready... for an event... like a big party... or a wedding. ;-)
Your enthusiasm for your projects is fun. There is no try ... DO. :D Good luck with the mirrors
Happy birthday Nave!
Thank you so much! ☺️
Nave concerning the garden. Did you put compost in the holes when you were planting. Also, Miracle grow is great for helping plants get started in the beginning. I sprinkle some in each hole when I put the plant in and also every 2 weeks during the growing season. Good luck sweetie!
You probably have already purchased a new mirror, but I have seen people purposely break mirrors and then reassemble them like a mosaic. It's a pretty cool looking wall treatment.
Gosh, it would be fun to help you with this. Thoughts:
1. The walls will probably be lathe and plaster. This is very different from modern drywall. PLEASE, look it up. There is a lot of info on YT about hanging things on plaster walls. This will apply through most of the house.
2. Before hanging any window coverings, research different ways to do it. In the walls and you're back to the plaster issue. Into the woodwork....😱 damage to original woodwork. There are newer no screw in methods, depending on what you'll be using.
Heavier cold blocking, light blocking, shears, combination. In an old house the window covers have many concerns beyond design.
3. Before moving all the furniture in, wash the floors with something specifically for wood floors. Consider if it might benefit from a wood floor sealer. The floor looks in good shape, but it's easier to do before than wish you did once it's all in.
4. Yes, shop the house first. Thrift stores are great for finding things you won't find at Wallie, etc., things that will balance the age/style of the house with the personal styles.
5. Don't be afraid to also look at antique shops and malls. Not everything is expensive, and again, you'll find unique things.
6. Older houses have temperature control issues. For bedding light cottons in summer. Winter consider a down comforter with duvet cover you can wash or switch as you like. I know you know Iowa living, but old house adds to that.
Proud of your increasing spider zen. I keep an old mayo jar under the sink to drop over them, and a thin piece of cardboard to slid across the top. I drop them back outside.

Lathe and plaster is a booger to pound a nail into. I used to drill a smll hole or use a small screw. This was before command strips.
This is all great advice!
@@mommacs6159
Thanks, Momma CS. 😊
LOTS of good advice here on this comment!
Thank you so much and thanks for the advice! I'll be keeping this all in mind! ☺️
I agree with T.O. You will never get that adhesive off without tearing the wall down. Use mirror mounting clips instead.
Happy “ belated” birthday Nave!!!!!🙂👋🌷🎂🎁🎈
Thank you so much! ☺️
Your so welcome!!!!🙂👋🌟
Happy birthday, Nave Cornstar!
He needs to put a ring on her finger!
@@donaldeverette6498 Patience :-)
SMG - you are one strange person! Are you boyfriend or something?
Thank you so much! ☺️
@SMG Does the G stand for Grouch?
well dang it... Now I can't wait to see what you do with the room! LOL
You asked Mama Corn Star what to use and that’s what she said to use then use it! You do you! Can’t wait to see the finished room!
She said she had used glue before because the command strips came loose. Whatever she wants to do is fine with me... that’s how u learn what works and what doesn’t:)
You are so cheerful ! Vacume up bugs girl! Nothing permanent on walls, ruin them! Happy birthday! 🎈🎆
Looking forward to seeing how your mirror project turns out!
Nave you can get .moving coasters to put under furniture to help you move heavy or awkward furniture with just one hand !
love them hard wood floors you guys have done a amazing job in and out keep it up god bless
That was funny. Never had that much fun shopping. Buy two more mirrors. Great Video
Thank you so much! ☺️
Have, there's a tutorial on UA-cam on kitchen where they just up a mirror and use it to create a mosaic Christmas tree. You place the shards of glass into a tree shape on a thin board and grout it. Cute way to make christmas ornaments on the precut shapes as well. Starburst would be cute too. thought id share since you have lots of broken mirror glass! 😄
👍👌🇨🇦❤, Happy Birthday Nave, sure hope Cole bought you so e new boots, you put up with so much teasing from DC and Cole, it is the boy's way of saying they love you, we do to
Thank you so much! ☺️
What ever you do, enjoy your self! I like your concept of the mirrors. I think they would have looked good with the frames too. But I think you need to buy 2 mirrors and not use one that is broken. Maybe Cole can cut that one off and you can use it someplace else. I will check back and see if you have made progress. This house would be a dream of mine and getting to watch you both work on it and make it your own is so much fun. Thank you!
You probably didn't see it in the Live feed comments because they go so fast, so tell Daddy Cornstar Happy Father's Day tomorrow from California ! And your Dad too of course !
Thank goodness for "Summer" !!😂💖🤗😂
That room would make a nice nursery....❤❤❤❤
A glass cutter is not expensive, you tube can show how to use. Plastic mirrors of that type are available, won’t break. DO not use adhesive to mount mirrors! Command strip or some variation are best. Adhesive will damage your plastered walls. Good luck!
I think the white thing with a hose is a portable air conditioner. If that is the room Cole uses for his office, he will most likely want air conditioning in there. Can you decorate around it? The hose needs to be able to extend to a window to use the air conditioner. Best wishes and Happy Birthday!!!
Thank you so much! ☺️
Maybe...saved by the cracked mirror. A LOT of folks think you may not want to permanantly glue the mirrors....to the wall. Good luck.
1) wall sockets
2) Outside wall insulation
3) do that other stuff
