Nava, The younger generation don’t want to listen to us older folks. I say things due to past experience, not because I think I’m smarter. So please listen to this piece of advice, if you haven’t had a tetanus shot in the past 7 years. GO get one, don’t take a chance only getting infected and worse problems. Stay safe my girl and good video the chili looks good.

Nave, there's two kinds of people in the world. Those that take the word of others that the stove is hot, and those that have to touch the stove for themselves.
Clean up the wound area with hydrogen peroxide, then soak your foot in Epson salts. This will draw out any fluids that are causing the swelling. The Tetanus shot if not current is a must. Think about the shot as failing a mini test before the exam.

Big fan been watching the cornstars for for while now I don't always post comments but always watch and give👍. Not trying to scare you but the next day or 2 will tell how your foot is and how deep the nail went. I stepped on a nail on a job site and the nail pushed part of my shoe up into my foot and pushed the shoe part near the bone in the arch of my foot. Then my foot swelled to the size of my shoe and 4 days later I was at the doctor. So even a small puncture can lead to big problems! Just watch it for a few days if your foot swells up bigger, starts to throb and gets warm please go to a doctor you will need penicillin. You did bled pretty good so it did go deep. Praying you heal quickly!

From my life experiences of stepping on a nail . The nail has been always been in piece of wood sticking out . Demolition ingredients remove wood bend nails over at the same time. If repurposing remove nails for ease of stacking. Take it easy it saves time in the long run. Repurposed wood is modern day design feature.

if the boards of the shelving are original with the house and I think they are they are made out of the extra left over flooring from when the house was build - so don't throw them away store them on a rack incase they are needed in Coles renovation - like fixing the holes in the bathroom floor or any rotten or soft board in the bathroom floor or taking out a wall as that era the flooring went in after the walls so when you take a wall out you get a line to patch and you will not be able to get floor to match because of the age of the house any other way - I have done several renovations and that is how I have patched floor or if the existing kitchen was there also made from the left over flooring

nice dish...just a tip since i like to cook...start with onions on low fire and bit of oil, then add meat what ever you have and just close it with lid and let it simmer on low fire...onion will let that nice juice out as well as meat and meat will get tender and all the flavors will be in there..then add all the other stuff you want in there, add water, spices, vegetables (i add beans and bacon and red pepper a bit of hot pepper salt) and let it cook on low fire for 1hour and just mix it here and there so it doesnt stick..and voila you have bean stew, onion is all gone melted and its nice and thick and tasty...
add the onion first so the onion will caramelize and later disappear in dish but you can taste it and the stew will be nice and thick. :)

NAVE there is very few boots that are designed to save a foot from a puncture from a nail in a board, in my long experience of dealing with such things I have learnt to bend nails over as a safety thing for just the type of injury you have now. so going forward start doing that both you & Cole.

Getting long boards out of a basement with minimal work: Open a window, have someone out side and slide all the boards to them.
You need to have that foot looked at, and make sure you are up to date on a shot! You should have one every 10 years, but when you get such a puncture wound, you should get one regardless of your last one.

Yes, that means a bad infection. My oldest granddaughter got an infection from a mosquito bite and it turned nasty, red lines on her leg. She had to get prompt treatment and heavy duty meds, it's not fun and can turn very dangerous if untreated.

My dad always told me to throw boards with nails facing down growing up our farm. I recall having a nail go through my tennis shoe as a kid. It got real red & itchy.

Two words: "tetanus shot". Tetanus otherwise formerly known as Lockjaw is one of the more painful infections on the farm.

You’ve already been told to get a shot, so, you know that. Bless your heart you are such a hard worker and very determined to get things done. I know you tried to be careful and hey, we all have not taken other’s advice before only to wish we had, so you’re not alone in that area. You did well making that chili limping and then rolling around in that chair. It takes time to make chili even without a hurt foot. Cole should appreciate you taking time to cook a meal for him with an injured foot. He doesn’t seem to appreciate you or show very much affection in videos like he use to, what’s up with that?🤔
Nava, If your foot doesn’t get any better soon, please have it checked out.

A smart man would say you chopped everything perfectly. I think you did a mahvelous job dahling. Complainers have to cook. They learn in a hurry that complimenting the cook is wise and good for their overall health. I'm sure Mama Cornstar would agree.

Good to see you at Coles place Nave! Sorry about your foot. You should have told Cole to kiss it and make it better. That basement sure is a mess!> My wife also hated spiders. When she sees one she freaks out and I am to her rescue. Keep up the great vlogs,

Ohhh my GOODNESS GIRL!! You are a tough little one!! ( I don’t want to encourage you though for many reasons...)
I wish I had the recipe to cook that amazing pot of chili!!!
    I miss being young
and able so I just mean to say pace yourself... Please take care of your sweet little self! I did everything like a MAN! And now... unfortunately, I’m trying my best to NOT be bed ridden.. I have the sweetest husband who was always encouraging me because of the amount of weight i could lift and the things I was able to do.. but he says his advice would now be.. “Do what you can, while you can, but don’t be afraid to ask for help and don’t push yourself.”
Sometimes the pain doesn’t come to your body until it’s later in life.
People say. “Oh! You’re gonna feel that tomorrow! “ Well.. if you feel it tomorrow just know when you get to a certain age it will creep back up on you worse with some age down the road and you don’t remember doing whatever you are feeling because it’s from something you did when you were young! I don’t think I should have done some of the things, in other words.. As it turned out there was no real need to push that hard! Much better to preserve and take care of your TEMPLE so that your body will last. Get help with big building tear downs and carrying large pieces of heavy wood over your petite frame, pace yourself.. ask for help, wear the right shoes! ...gloves, masks.. anything to preserve YOU!
    -Kimberly Telle❤️
