    Cover your garden soil with a tarp in the fall until ready to plant. It will keep the weed down. If you have any grass clippings you can put around your plants and down your rows too. Add moisture and
    suppresses weeds. Newspaper, cardboard works too. Some big gardens use a ground cover cloth to plant in making holes with a blow torch for the plants. No weeding.

      Grass clipping work so well and provide nutrients. Cole's mower is too large for a bagger, but you could easily rake up what you need after he mows!

    I am enjuoying watching you get into gardening Nave. You are so much better prepared this year! Summer is awesome for helping you out too.
    I really prefer smaller greenhouses like the one you found. I like the extra TLC they give their plants and since they are usually family run, I feel good about helping out family.

    Nave, you are a very determined hard working young lady! As you seem to like Roma tomatoes, have you ever tried Amish Paste or San Marzano tomatoes? Just a tip on egg shells, place on a tray or sheet in the oven at about 180 for 40 minutes or so to dry the shells for easier crushing and to minimize any risks of pathogen transfer. Happy Gardening! -Bob...

    I actually thought my husband was a little slow or weird when we first started dating, seriously! He’d say absolutely weird things and never crack a smile or look at me. One time I saw him cutting those big blue eyes to the side looking at me and he was busted!!! Later I found out what his IQ was by accident and he can do any math problems in his head and pop out the answer, he plays guitar so well I thought he’d had years of lessons…no, he plays by sound like many major musicians do that can’t read music. He still throws out those weird comments and I catch those eyes and call him in it and he can’t stop laughing!
    Give it right back Nava!❤️😂

    Nave, remember on next years garden:
    Minimize rows for your garden(easier to till)
    Roundup area asap to eradicate weeds, do it several times.
    Donnt plant same thing in the same places every year. (Especially potatoes, squash)
    Try prairie hay instead of straw(less volunteer).
    Get a stihl 2cycle tiller.
    Put your fence at least 4' beyond plants.
    Plant asparagus on a fringe area next to building where your old garden was.
    Strawberries would work well there as well. Add to them each year as AZ ground cover

    Hey Nave, when you're inflating your car tires, the recommended pressure is written in the drivers side door well. (the space where your door covers the bare metal of the body when you close it) so you know you're not over inflating your tires, and getting the optimal amount of tire on the road to reduce uneven wear :)

    It's a good idea to zap the egg shells in the microwave for 30 seconds or so. Don't heat them enough they burn just get really hot. Raw egg shells can have salmonella on them. You don't want to introduce that to your garden plants. I save up a couple dozen shells, zap them then whirl them in the blender until they are powder. You can put them in a jar and punch holes in the lid to make a shaker.

    There's a sticker on the car, under the post the drivers side door frame that has the proper tire pressure on it. It's little. On almost every car, except old ones. Sometimes it's on the inside of the glove box, or inside the flap over the gas cap. Don't forget the air in your spare. It's probably a much higher number. You can even look at the same sticker on Cole's truck, Ford, to see what his tires should be.

    You can usually check the recommended tire pressure in the driver door frame or by the gas cap. A few pound over won't pop your tire it will make them wear out faster. I know of a test where they tried to make the tire pop. It took roughly 320psi to pop a brand new tire.

When the farmer was pulling me out, he asked where I was going. I told him to get eggs from the store. He said why, we just have to walk to the chicken coop?! We both had a good laugh as he got my car unstuck.

    I hope your garden will turn out awesome this year! Fence looks very good, it'll keep out those unwanted friends.. I had a similar problem with unwanted friends in my garden. Those friends were way too stubborn and went through all fences and ate everything and then slept on top of my strawberries! So then I got electric fence, then birds came after my strawberries, zucchinis and cucumbers. This year I'll have a full fortress around my garden! Haha

    • @NavexCole

    • @nanacat4674
      @nanacat4674 3 роки тому

      @@NavexCole Oh I hope you get strawberries this year! I have a net over my plants. Sometimes strawberries and its flowers get stuck to it and birds try to eat through it.. so this year I have some fence posts to keep the net a little higher, so nothing gets stuck and birds can't reach through and also just high enough so that I can fit under it and pick some berries. So far, it seems to work quite well. Those annoying friends try to go through any gap they can find, so net needs to have very tiny holes. :D

    Nave. next time you are in a hardware store.. wander over to the tool aisle.. look for compound wire cutting pliers. there are several brands.. usually less than 20 or 25 dollars.. they make cutting wire easy for people with smaller hands . use some fingernail polish to write NAVE on them so you have them handy instead of them migrating to the shop.. .. also.. that stack of news paper.. put a section of newspaper in your work out area.. pull out a double wide sheet of news print.. put your right arm out palm up.. use your left hand to place a piece of news print centered over your right hand.. use a single finger of your left hand to push the center of the news print into the palm of your right hand.. start wadding with ONLY your right hand.. wad the news print into a ball.. when you have wadded it.. flatten it out and wad it again.. do one new sheet and then rewad it 4 times. then do the left hand palm up with one new sheet and rewadding it 4 times. then do the right hand palm down. 5 times. then the left hand palm down 5 times..
    this will greatly increase your hand strength .. you only need to do that 2 or 3 times a week.. you will be greatly impressed in a few weeks.. you will feel the muscles burn in minutes just doing the first day reps..

  • @larryfreeman7979
    @larryfreeman7979 3 роки тому +1

    actually DC is incorrect saying 5 psi more wont hurt. But it will. too much air will cause the tires to go round or overinflate in the middle. That will cause the middle to be more in contact with the road and wear out quicker. try to keep as close to the recommended inflation.
