14:26 since 2011 Ive always stayed at the S Lodge highly recommended, like you said you're away from all the nightlife closer to the beach & bhat buses. Im shocked to see how soi 2 has changed as i haven't been to Thailand since covid ...wen you walked pass the S Lodge that car park on the left used to be their hotel restaurant, looks like theyve refurbished. Great video btw, cant get waitnto get back soon
FYI: The S Lodge used to be called the Sabai Lodge, the change happened around October 2023, the Sabai lodge relocated into the Sabai Sabana. The restaurant was destroyed sometime in 2021 and the whole lot became part of Sabai Sabana.

Last time I was there back in March I stayed at Citismart apartments on Soi 1 for a week. Its run by two Thai sisters and was really good. Soi 1 I found to be a nice and quiet as there are no bars, but you are very close to the beach and all the bars.
Nice walkabout Trev soi 1 is a great place to stay for location stayed in the sunshine hip a few times great rooftop pool about 1000 baht a day only 7 0r 8 years old cheers mate.

Stayed at the Sandalay recently, it was expensive, room was scruffy and whole place run down, there were a lot of Indian tourists staying who made a lot of noise, yelling at each other, banging on room doors etc night and day.
Thank Christ i never ever had to Experience that in all the time travelling to Thailand .Bad enough being on a Bhat Bus full of them. Singaporean lady asked for my help .Long story
@ Siam Hotel rooftop is great view and breeze, go for happy hour 2 for 1 cocktails where they bring you two at a time, otherwise yes it is pricy. The soi 1/soi 2 is good area to stay for a quieter night and still easy with baht bus, the beach in that area is also quieter and cleaner it seems. I like Red Steps for lunch with a view across the beach as well.
Trevor, on your next walk down Soi 3, I will be able to contribute. I've never walked down Soi 1 and 2. Nice to know about the hotels there and restaurant choices. I will be waiting for your next video.

Yes, I remember well what used to be where Aromdee massage used to be. There was a bar in the middle called Noi No.i and next to them was Yuth Bar (serious rock band) who got evicted from the bar complex which was then built on for Siam Siam Hotel - heady days! In my drinking days it was brilliant!
There is a very nice rooftop bar on Level 24 of the Siam@Siam Hotel which is worth a visit called Sky Bar. Great views straight down Pattaya and the ocean. Swimming pool next to the bar area for some extra optical exercise.
I always eat on the street, but can never understand how the foot sits in the open sometimes for hours (especially at night as the very last bars close) and we do not get sick from the chicken or the pork (especially). I never hesitate to buy, but also never understand how we do not get sick from meat sitting at room temperature (or warmer, being beside their BBQ's) for hours on end. The street foot sellers of Thailand are the true unsung heroes of the country.
Those body to body massage (nuru?) are worth trying once, but yeah the prices can get insane. Plus they will try to sneak in extra charges, like when your lady is in elevator with you she will ask if you want a drink. Boom that is an extra 300-700 baht charge right there. It was on my bucket list though so no regrets trying it once.
Hi Trev, I'm coming to Pattaya in August, staying in the Centara Azure hotel. Do you know if that is located near to the beach and Walking Street and your bar?
Take a look at the recent video Trev just published entitled "Take a look at this fantastic addition to what was an already excellent menu here in Pattaya" with a June 13 posting date. Mr. Trevor walks up to Soi Diana (aka 13), down (west) to Second Road, and then south (towards Walking Street) where he ends up at RobinHood Tavern at the 10 minute mark. BUT WAIT walk happens after his meal is HE WALKS OUT THE BACK OF THE SHOPPING CENTER AND IS MAGICALLY RIGHT ON SOI 15 and takes us on a very short walk back to your hotel. Now, Soi 15 drives me nuts - the street in front of Centara Azure - because unlike virtually all of the other Soi's that lead directlky to Second Road, Soi 15 does NOT proceed in a straight line, 90 degrees to Second Road, it meanders off to the left for what feels like forever, running more parallel to Second Road that perpendicular. It makes a nice shortcut to Walking Street compared with hiking down Buakhao to Pattaya South Road, the main cross road, but it is by no means a short walk, even with Trev's magic shortcut through the rear of the shopping mall. There are several easier ways to get to Walking Street: Take a motorcycle taxi; Take a Bolt car (it's like Uber); or take the ubiquitous but often mysterious baht bus. The nearest m/c taxi stand is right in front of the 7-11 at the corner of Soi Buakhao and Soi 15 . Do NOT call at Bolt or Grab car to meet your there, they get in fights. Just get pickup in front of your hotel lobby. To take the baht bus, walk up to Buakhao and board and head south. Don't ask where the bus is going or how much it costs, just make sure you have 10 baht (not 5 baht, which look similar) coins and when you get off walk to the car window and give them the 10 baht. At Pattaya Road south, the main cross road, you may have to switch baht buses to head west to Beach Road. At Second Road the baht bus will go left or right, you get off there and walk to Walking Street. It's best to goi with friends who know the first time, or reconnoiter during the day. It's easy to get lost. Motorcycle taxi stands are everywhere and your best bet if all else fails, because car drivers won't come to get you if the traffic is bad and/or the ride is short., There are two ways to Trevor's. Walk all the way past the swimming pool at Azxure,, and through the big white closed door, at the end which puts you in the sister hotel Centra Avenue. Exit their lobby and walk down the narrow and uneventful alley to the main cross street -Soi Diana aka Soi 13 - Las Vega beer complex will be on your right. Walk past the huge Las Vega complex (you shouldn't be anywhere near the small Las Vegas go go across the road and down the street) until you can see the Subway Sandwiich shop at Soi Buakhao. Now go left (north) to the first alleyway/street to your right. Go up that street and bear right at the divide in the roll (so that the Triangle Bar will be on your left). Trevor's is nearly at the end of the block, his easiest sign to see is a vertical one at second floor level. The alternative route is walk oukt your lobby, turn left, walk up to Buakhao and turn left , and continue past Subway again then continue as before. Always walk against traffic so you can dodge. Yes, dodge. If you HAVE to walk WITH traffic, never swing wide into the alley to make room for people walking towards you - they can see approaching hazards, you can't. And as Trevor repeatedly says in old videos, always assume there is an empty hole waiting to catch your foot, or a heave in the walkway, look before you place your feet. Other than these tips it's simple, safe, and amazing. Buzzin Lounge is much more fun, but if you are prepared to spend up to 10,000 baht (275 dollars) per night and choose the right Walking Street club on the right night, the ladies are heaven level grade. That's money just for drinks and good will btw, especially if you get swarmed by your chosen's numerous friends who all order "double price" lady drinks (main drink plus a side drink in two different glasses), and while they seldom try any funny business, pay each check as it comes to your table.
Hi Trevor! We have a lot of homeless people here in Copacabana. Sometimes you see people from the city speak to them and from my understanding they offer them a better option than the pavement in Copacabana or Ipanema. However, the acommodation is further inland in Rio so many prefere to stay where they are. Some of them have children. It is sad to see. Kindly regards, Reine.
Hey Trev whenever they do blind side lifts there are always done thru radio communications and as a backup sometimes if possible u will have a relay system of signalman we did this all the time in Construction Industry but of course this is Thailand so who knows nothing surprises me here.
Mdubb whatever happened to all the very slim young girls seems like in recent years they have been going to the junk food takeaways. I was there in 2014 and ALL the girls were very slim.
@@johndean4765 I think our judgment, once there, gets warped. Out of the many thousands of ladies, we see a few and thereafter they kinda look the same. Yeah there are a LOT of fatties, but lately all I notice are the bony ones who look like food was scarce and quality poor during the years when nutrition can have an enormous impact on physical appearance (my family was poor and I grew up short and physically stunted; while my daughter and son are well fed and hit their proper height with athletic builds). It’s also the luck of the draw. That stunner sitting in a corner, you might hesitate and never see one like that again. Happy holidays!

I don't mind doing the odd review but to do it consistently to be honest with you is not my forte or cup of tea simply because I don't want you to base your decision on a video that they may have changed the deck or after you've done the video maybe they've changed their prices maybe the hotel is going into decline there are so many factors that if I said yeah go and stay there and you went and it ruined your holiday I would feel mortified
these soi by soi walks some of my favorite :) love the noseyness lol and also love saying to myself.... yeah Pattaya is dying lol yeah right, its been evolving since the 80's... last month was my first trip back in 12 years and it was.... same same but different lol loved the Buuzzin meet ups :)
I stayed in the s lodge on soi 2 back in feburary, I decided last minute to go for a week so booked my flight and 10 hours later I was on my way to the airport and started to look for accommodation but didn't relise it was the Chinese new year and everywhere central was almost booked out so ended up staying in the s lodge- very cheap hotel but decent if you just want a place. Has two nice pools but the rooms are pretty outdated but I remember it was cheap as so it did the job and truthfully I would stay again if I couldn't find anywhere more suited and your only a 2 minute walk to the baht bus on beach road 👍
I will be staying there from the middle of June. Until late last year it used to be called Sabi Lodge. It is getting outdated compared with newer hotels. One example is lack of electrical power points compared to modern hotels. Not disabled friendly at all. Talking to one of the staff there last year she thought the hotel was at least 40+ years old. Two nice pools and the place is kept clean. The staff are friendly.
I honestly don't know any other people who promote Pattaya as much as you ,and most of the videos are really informative, pretty impressive, keep up the good work trev 👍👌👌👌

Korean, similar but different. Depending on the type of place, it can be a front for a what we would call a "gents club" but caters to Koreans (mostly), but is also big in China and in Japan they just call it Karaoke or Darehayu
honey massage 2 is the best in Pattaya and yes some soapy massages will go 7k+ baht depends on how exotic the masseuses are, even some will offer Russians masseuse for 8k+ although i haven't used their services since Covid hit so not sure if you can still get Russians. paying 3-4 k is already too much for an hour an half of fun and paying even more is not my cup of tea but i guess to each their own. nothing compared to Tom Kha Kai that thing is out of this world Aroi mak mak.
Trev, how long did it take you to pick up the Thai language, i see there are schools over there teaching Thai but they seem very pricey 40k to 42kbaht for 12months, there are shorter courses but i am a slow learner like fukkin turtle pace.😏 Trouble is schools in Chang Mai are exposed to the Burning season, no way i'm breathing that in, Lungs are not good from 30yrs of smelting fumes.

Ingredients are bought fresh that morning. More likely to get food poison from hotels that reheat food the next day.
They even conserve food by laying it out in the sun.
You will see them doing it with crispy port and Isan jerky

@@johndean4765 I think our judgment, once there, gets warped. Out of the many thousands of ladies, we see a few and thereafter they kinda look the same. Yeah there are a LOT of fatties, but lately all I notice are the bony ones who look like food was scarce and quality poor during the years when nutrition can have an enormous impact on physical appearance (my family was poor and I grew up short and physically stunted; while my daughter and son are well fed and hit their proper height with athletic builds).
It’s also the luck of the draw. That stunner sitting in a corner, you might hesitate and never see one like that again.

I don't mind doing the odd review but to do it consistently to be honest with you is not my forte or cup of tea simply because I don't want you to base your decision on a video that they may have changed the deck or after you've done the video maybe they've changed their prices maybe the hotel is going into decline there are so many factors that if I said yeah go and stay there and you went and it ruined your holiday I would feel mortified
these soi by soi walks some of my favorite :) love the noseyness lol and also love saying to myself.... yeah Pattaya is dying lol yeah right, its been evolving since the 80's... last month was my first trip back in 12 years and it was.... same same but different lol loved the Buuzzin meet ups :)

I stayed in the s lodge on soi 2 back in feburary, I decided last minute to go for a week so booked my flight and 10 hours later I was on my way to the airport and started to look for accommodation but didn't relise it was the Chinese new year and everywhere central was almost booked out so ended up staying in the s lodge- very cheap hotel but decent if you just want a place. Has two nice pools but the rooms are pretty outdated but I remember it was cheap as so it did the job and truthfully I would stay again if I couldn't find anywhere more suited and your only a 2 minute walk to the baht bus on beach road 👍

I will be staying there from the middle of June. Until late last year it used to be called Sabi Lodge. It is getting outdated compared with newer hotels. One example is lack of electrical power points compared to modern hotels. Not disabled friendly at all. Talking to one of the staff there last year she thought the hotel was at least 40+ years old. Two nice pools and the place is kept clean. The staff are friendly.

Korean, similar but different. Depending on the type of place, it can be a front for a what we would call a "gents club" but caters to Koreans (mostly), but is also big in China and in Japan they just call it Karaoke or Darehayu

honey massage 2 is the best in Pattaya and yes some soapy massages will go 7k+ baht depends on how exotic the masseuses are, even some will offer Russians masseuse for 8k+ although i haven't used their services since Covid hit so not sure if you can still get Russians. paying 3-4 k is already too much for an hour an half of fun and paying even more is not my cup of tea but i guess to each their own. nothing compared to Tom Kha Kai that thing is out of this world Aroi mak mak.

Trev, how long did it take you to pick up the Thai language, i see there are schools over there teaching Thai but they seem very pricey 40k to 42kbaht for 12months, there are shorter courses but i am a slow learner like fukkin turtle pace.😏 Trouble is schools in Chang Mai are exposed to the Burning season, no way i'm breathing that in, Lungs are not good from 30yrs of smelting fumes.
It took me about 2 years but the key to success is learned to read it's not as hard as it initially appears
