- In this video, we will go over, step by step, form IMM5476e also know as the Use of A Representative form.
Whether you are applying for your temporary visa, permanent residence, sponsoring your spouse or a family member, you need to fill this form out if
a) you have hired a paid consultant to do the application for you
b) you are sponsoring your spouse/family member and are doing the application for them or
c) a friend is helping you do the application for you
Both the Sponsor and the principal applicant need to fill this form out when applying for spouse/spousal permanent residence in Canada under family class.

In my case, I "Neha" sponsor and citizen want to be the representative and my father "Kiran" is the principal applicant and my mother is the spouse/family member who will accompany him. So in the last section, my father and mother both have to sign right?

Hey, would really appreciate if you can clarify this. Under current guidelines IRCC is asking to sign this form online. According to guide 5772. For 2022 pgp intake. Does it makes a big difference if we print and physically sign!! If anything it just looks more genuine (if you know what I mean).

Suyash, in the case that a spouse is the representative, does the spouse also have to sign section D?
For Parents Sponsorship on Section D the applicant is my mom so its only her signature correct? My dad don't need to sign at the spouse section.

Thanks so much for the Video. I have a quick question, kindly assist. I am sponsoring my Mom under grand parent and parent program. I am also acting as the representative for my Mom. As you know there are forms that the principal applicant and myself will have to fill out. Can I fill out all these forms for both the principal applicant and forms for myself using my own account (sponsor account). Also when submitting all the forms and supporting document, can I submit through my own account. I will sincerely appreciate your advise
Hey my question is that.. I am a Temporary Resident in Canada with a Work Permit. I am applying for my wife who’s in India. In the form 5476, will I have to sign as representative and for Signature of spouse for sponsorship application, both spots? Or only as a representative? I am now filling out this form to act as representative for his PR application. Do I need to mention his UCI from visitor visa? because then I would have to select type of application as visit visa but all i want is to represent him for this PR application. URGENT
Scenario: The SOWP application was submitted earlier and the file is now withdrawn. Now at the time of submitting a spousal sponsorship application, the status of SOWP is "Withdrawn". - I have an official letter from IRCC. The UCI was issued at that time.
I do have UCI for my spouse so q4 of Section A will be filled out because it is known.
What to write in q3 in Section A of this form? Will this question remain blank or do I have to mention the name of office and type of application which is now withdrawn?

So just wanted to know is the 5476 form mandatory to fill if I am filling the outland sponsorship for my wife.
I am filling most of the forms by myself and then my wife signs the forms where she needs to. Sometimes we do screenshare.
I am guessing the sponsor fills the forms usually in all cases.
Do we still need to fill this form. Is there a way that IRCC will know if it was the sponsor filled the form instead of the principal applicant .

I downloaded the form 5476 2 months ago and in the page 37 in regards to use of representative it says and I quote
"complete it
sign it digitally or by hand and get your immigration representativeor designated individual to do so also
upload it with your application"

hi, i have my profile in the EE pool and i want to cancel my representative , my question is where do i upload my imm5476 form (stating that im cancelling my representative)?? I i need that i should have the access to my profile . but my application is not yet submitted as i dont have an ITA at the moment. you said that it has to be uploaded in the PR portal but i don't have a portal. i do have a CIC account though.
Both parents already have Canadian visitor visas....we are now applying for our kids only (13 yrs and 6yrs). How exactly do we apply? We entered all information in the new IRCC portal for the kids, but when we tried to submit the application in the end we need to say who is the principal applicant (and we can only choose one of the kids (both are minors)). Hi Guatam, I had previously made an application for temporary resident visa, however it got rejected. That is why I resorted to spousal application. Should I use the UCI previously given to me in my previous TRV application on the said IMM 5476e form? Looking forward to hearing from you

Absolutely, no matter who you are sponsoring, if you are representing them/doing the application on their behalf, you will have to use this form
I have one question, I have submitted application for my parent under PGP2021, and few forms came back in which one is financial eval. IMM1283, When I have submited we are 3 and we sponsor my mother , now I have new member, so I have to put this info in financial eval. because when I have submitted last year this was not case? If I mentioned then my 2018 fianacial amount may not satisfy?

if sponsor is acting as representative, only one form is required from the sponsor. both PA and applicant should sign the same form.

Section A is applicant. Section B is representative section. you can provide agent's info there.

@@HitSubmitCanada oh , submitted application on Sunday. Yes, my dad was primarily applicant but instead of my mom signing in spouse section I uploaded two separate user representative forms. One for dad and one for mom as each had their own section.hope it's ok.

Hi, Thanks for the video. Just wondering, I am applying for my parents. They are not tech-savvy. Suppose, I fill out the forms, sign & scan and send it them for their signature. After they give their sign, scan and send back to me, is it IRCC accept it?
As long as the signature is legible, clearly visible, and matches their passport signature, you should be fine. If you can find someone to help them, that will be the best.

What about a PGP Principal Applicant who traveled to Canada before on a Tourist Visa - then they will have a UCI # in the Tourist Visa. Can one use the UCI # in the tourist visa in 5476 and in IMM0008, while applying for PGP ? *OR* UCI # in tourist visa has nothing to do with UCI # while applying for PR through PGP.
If you have a UCI ID from any application you have done before doesn’t matter tourist or any other, you can use that. You will always have one UCI per account.
@@HitSubmitCanada When you say "You will always have one UCI per account" - do you mean that 2 individuals can have same UCI ? I applied for Tourist visa for my Mom and Dad 3-4 years back. The UCI found on Visa for my Mom is different from my Dad. I think UCI is linked to an individual than the application. For Eg., if I submit an application for PGP for my parents, both of them will be on the same application, but I'm NOT sure they both will have same UCI, just because there are 2 individuals in the same application

Is his parents only need to sign one use of rep form or separate for his father (PA) and separate for his mother (dependent spouse).
