Based on the answers I've seen, yes. As long as you respect the culture that is tied to it (not all tribes use dream catchers for its purpose). Educating yourself is the most important part. And support Native owned stores.
What have we done wrong. At the request of 2 of our employees both Umpqua Indians we started selling Dream Catchers. We are getting bad remarks from face book members for having the product. I don't understand, should we have displayed them differently. Or are they the wrong materials. Our employees don't understand either. They are upset that someone would try to regulate, what they believe is part of their culture.
I’m sorry you never received an answer for this. I’ve recently learned there is a bit of a misunderstanding among some younger people in a few of the tribes in the USA. Someone I know personally initially thought they were a white mans stereotype of some mystical native belief and wasn’t really native at all until he met another indigenous friend of mine from out west who absolutely has grown up with dreamcatchers as an important part of her life (and even makes them herself) and beliefs
if you use it in tradition sense, you shouldn't be just throwing it away. You have to burn it (if it's made out of organic materials such as wood, etc. and not plastic/metal this would be safe to do outside). But if you're not able to burn it, the minimum thing you can do is cleanse it (ex. leaving it in the sun for several hours) before throwing it away.

I have a very chronically ill son and he spends a lot of time in hospital so when I rotate out with grandparents at visits I go sleep in my car I’ve never had a nightmare yet during a hospital stay when I’m napping in the car 😊

We cleanse are dreamcatchers by smudging white sage! Not sure about the pink salt, that might be part of a different culture

If it's dusty try blowdrying it on cool setting. You can also smudge it too :)
