What a fun playthrough! Thanks so much for posting it. Clarification re: last Hunger phase. 1. You could have reduced the # of Food you had to eat to 3 by using the Subsist ability. On the 4th level combat the Time cost automatically changes into a Small Effort cost, so you would be left with 1 Large Effort. 2. You would then eat one Food that you had, regaining 1 Small Effort (you are now at 1SE / 1LE). 3. You failed to eat 2 Food - so for first one you'd lose 1 SE and for second you would lose the remaining LE and could not lose the very last Effort required. So it's still a loss but by the slimmest of margins. You had a great combo going with the Wrecker skill, planning your Effort a little better (not focusing so much on Large) would totally get you a win here. Good luck on future plays and thanks to all for watching the video and supporting the game!
Artem, THANK you for clarifying! I am going to pin your comment and try and make a note on the video itself. Thank you for letting me try the game out it was awesome-ly fun!!
Can you do general abilities during combat? If so, wouldn't it be better keep your small effort and only covert it up when you actually need the medium or large effort?
Can i craft any resources as a turn in combat, for example when attacking the shaman if you have no cunning do you just lose as you cant attack. Or can i let him beat on me while i feebly try to get enough cunning to attack?
You certainly can do that! But if you run out of all of your effort you lose :( And you do one action, and then the monster can attack you. It hurts! Thanks for watching!
You forgot to give yourself 1 minor effort after eating that food at the end, and you should be able to use Subsist in the final battle. Thus you'd be a 0 Minor, 0 Medium and 0 Major Effort, but still alive cuz you didn't have to spend more effort past that.
Thanks for watching! If you check out the pinned comment from the designer, he mentions how I lost by 1 small effort! So it was a close one but I don't think I made it. Thanks again!
According to the rules the win condition is simply to defeat the final monster in level 4. Looks like you don't have to do the hunger phase. So you actually won the game!!!! In terms of the narrative, either you defeat the basilisk in the heart of the dungeon, and give your life to avenge your companions, and die in peace in the knowledge that you have finally vanquished your foes. Or, you defeat it at gate of the dungeon, and find yourself free and clear with a cooling stream and fresh berries to nourish you. Either way, you won!!
First I love your narrative thank you!! Are you sure about this, it seems that you would need to eat after the boss, maybe? I think I will ask on BGG thanks for watching!! What a fun game!
One Stop Co-op Shop If you look in the pdf of the rule book on p12 under the heading Game End you will see the victory condition is to defeat the level four monster.
Totally agree except it comes AFTER the Hunger Step. You check if you defeated the level IV boss after you eat, so I am pretty sure we did die due to exhaustion before we could go to the end phase. Do you disagree?
One Stop Co-op Shop i see your point. However, I think it is just how the book is laid out. I think the Game End is a separate section. In the same way you don't wait til the end of a phase to determine if you cannot expend anymore small effort, you simply are defeated. As soon as the victory condition is met you have won.
What a fun playthrough! Thanks so much for posting it.

You're so easy to listen to, Colin, with great presentation. Have kickstarted on the back of your playthrough 👍
Thanks so much for the kind words, and glad you are picking it up! It is worth it! :)
Great play through.
I ordered this on Kickstarter the other day. Theme and play looks very appertising.
Thanks
Thank you for watching and backing Craig!
Awsome play through looks like a great solo game. I think I will pick this up. Fits a in nicely to the quick solo game section.
Thanks for watching!! Yeah this one will be a nice solo staple I think. and it is HARD! :)
At minute 17 you forget to spend a small effort when doing the shrine encounter. Great gameplay anyway! Have you ever won?
Shoot I didn't want to pay it apparently! No I have not yet won. . . but I have gotten close! Thanks for watching!
Well, if you had you would have lost immediately as you'd be at 0 small effort right?
Or does it only cause you to lose when you have 0 and have to spend 1 but cannot?
Only if you must spend 1 and cannot! :)
Great skill synergy. I imagine, as another class, you'd scout less but be able to manage surprise combat more easily.
Good point, I was being to precise I think, it killed me!

thanx Colin, good game !!!
Thank you Franck!!
Looks like a great solo game.

That was still a good game despite the result. Good job Colin !
Thank you for watching Franck!!
That was a close one!
Tell me about it, it was close!

Got you, I think I am just going to ask and I will let you know! :) Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
Looks like the game is at least 45-60 mins, but I guess it goes a lot quicker if you don't have to film everything lol
Ha good point! I would say even without the camera, it is at least a 30 minute game if you get to the end. . . but that is a big IF!! :)
great video but you totall fudged up. You spent one time to gain an effort, but the card was to spend one time to gain one wood
Actually that is OK, you can use a card's time to gain back small effort equal to the time on the card.
Oh okay I thought he was using the card as it, not resting.
