It's so easy to think BB King's playing is very simplistic, and easy to do. But the less notes you play, the more each note needs to be done correctly, for the right duration, and right phrasing. Make no mistake, its extremely difficult to play so little notes, and sound so good. Literally zero margin for error. Such a legend.

Yes I remember watching this when it first aired! This is a classic. It was good to see James Brown taking directions from other musicians of another genre. You don’t see that too often. But he did hold his own with them. But the funniest thing about this was when Bobby Bland told him to moan and then after each time he was going to mention some of James Brown song so he mentions papas got a brand new bag the first time, open up the door I’ll get it myself the second time, and then the third time he couldn’t think of any more songs so he said papas got a brand new bag again! 😂🤣. But I know James but I got the biggest kick out of when he started naming his songs.

It hurts my heart so much to see Don Cornelius. Two days before he committed suicide he came into the store i was working in in Beverly Hills and i had the pleasure of waiting on him. He had the most amazing black pin striped suit on. He was so nice. I would sit at my desk 2 days later and open my computer to read the news. I just felt overwhelming sadness and guilt at our interaction although we did not know each other. Rest in Peace sir. Thank you for everything!
