- This is a shop upgrade to clean an organize the shop. We attach a french cleat board to a concrete wall. But this wall has no exposed screw heads. This gives it a clean look and looks SO MUCH BETTER! If you want to do french cleats that look this good, follow the technique! This is a long needed and has taken far too long to get upgrade.

I finished my build of this yesterday. It’s an awesome design. Totally strong enough with just the brads and glue and love the clean look. I appreciate all your help with my questions. Now, I’m excited to start making some storage pieces!
That’s awesome! Im so glad u like the design and that it turned out great!
Looks great bro!
Thanks man yea I absolutely love it
I don't think I was notified about this video or i would have watched sooner. You did some cool editing and good information as always. I really like French cleats.
Thank you yea I think when I upload them and schedule the release it messes with the notifications but thank you it is a welcomed addition to the shop and wished I did it sooner
Sure, the French cleat wall is good. But that hammer twirl was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💪💪
Haha we’ll thank you sir I’m thinking about entering into some competitions
Measure center height & width of board. then use the 45 on the combination square to do a 45 degree line through where the other 2 lines meet, set combination square to the height of the 45 degree and then you can run the line length ways up the board and the best thing is if the other boards are the same, then you don't need to measure again.
Great job. The French cleat videos are great for views so good luck with the numbers
Thanks man yea I needed the wall and hoping it does well so we’ll see
@@ShepherdsWorkbench keep the videos coming and if I might be so bold. If you do a 10 second verse in ever show from the bible .
@@therelaxingwoodshop7495 that’s a really good idea i don’t know why I never thought of that
That turned out great! I really need to build a french cleat wall. Tired of my dumb pegboard wall. Yuck.
Thanks man! Yea it seriously is such an improvement and now that I have it I’m mad that I didn’t do it sooner! I used to have a peg board and hated it
I have a full sheet of 3/8" or maybe it's 1/4". Any reason i couldn't use it for the back board and focus on attaching the cleats to the "studs"?
So, the cleats are a sheet of plywood stripped into 6” strips and 45ed for the cleats. But, what is the spacing between the cleats on the wall? I’m going to do this in my garage. I appreciate any info that could help.
Hey yes it’s just strips cut at a 45 what I did was took two spacers on either end that had a 45 cut in it from the tip of the 45 to the square cut end was 2 1/4” and put the spacer piece in nailed in the next cleat moved the spacers till the board was full
Thanks! I appreciate the reply. I’m gunna go get after it!
@@michaelcrews2979 awesome man! Let me know how it turns out!
Will do! One last question: when you ripped the plywood into 6” strips, were they a little short to compensate for the blade because if I rip them all at 6” my 8th one would be short. So should I include the width of my blade in the 6”? And would that affect the miter of no?
@@michaelcrews2979 i just assume that my last piece was going to be short. I used that piece to attach to my jigs. Having the extra pieces for your tool holders it’ll come in handy
