Making Strange French Cleat Holders (Iron, Power, and PPE)
Переглядів 8222 роки тому
These holder for your french cleat wall definitely seem odd, but they are a great upgrade to your french cleat wall. Our first hold is for a regular cloths iron to keep around for edge-banding. The second one We took an awesome power strip to add to the wall. Which doesn't sound super interesting but this one is unique because it is also a great light source. The last one is for all the stuff t...

Perfect Finish: get glass smooth poly everytime
Directions for using polycrylic are to wait at least 18-24 hours (or longer depending on conditions) before applying post water based stain. The reason? You may trap in moisture from the water based stain. I waited and put my first coat on. Now watching your video? You are just wiping away moisture from your wet sand and going right to the next polycyclic coat? Or are you waiting to dry? If the latter , then how long? Then how long before you repeat the process (wet sand)?
I loved the whole video ... But the moment i appreciated the most is when you show the mistake !!! Thank you for that
Very Nice
LoL... Nice clip use lol
Thank you
This is just the video i needed to find to help with the brush strokes i'm seeing in my table finishing.
I’m glad I could help! Yea when someone taught me this trick I had to share!
Cool, dude!!! I like it, the content is cool, break your leg 😊
Thanks! Will do!
You need to get a real tape measure and you should learn how to read a tape measure you wouldn't end up with these silly mistakes that none of us framers really deal with
If u think the problem is the tape measure ur missing the joke lol plus most of what I do is fine detail furniture so I need to be more precise than a framer tape measure
@@ShepherdsWorkbench even doing finish work 😂 put down the child tape measure and learn how to read the lines
Do u feel better now? All hail king tape measure 🫡
@@ShepherdsWorkbench I would feel better if the new generation of woodworkers knew how to read a tape measure
I just started my first welding / fabrication job after graduating welding school, and the number of times I've done this in 3 WEEKS has me mind blown, haha. Quick question... what is that type of tape measure called? It's pretty dark where I work, and that would come in handy for me.
It’s a tape by fastcap amzn.to/4eGUufq
the ol crows foot will never let you down
Aha! I am not the only one!😂
lol
😂😂😂 All the time!
Use a blue colored pencil...
😂 had this happen today to me
That ain't just a woodworkers problem lol I'm a machinist and I do it to myself all the time.
I chuckled on the truth of this thoroughly lol
So many times.
Allow me to be the second to say crows foot. Also hilarious
Gross. Who let world renowned child molester Kevin Spacey in here?
Nope by the second time I mark with something else
I try to leave the tape measure there and just slip my square underneath it to make my mark.
Great job on this video!!
Thank you!
I'm not gonna lie to you.I did this earlier today
So fucking true omg
Leave the measuring tape there. BOOM problem solved
Done this so many times.
Yes I know this pain. I discovered Sharpie makes a fine tip marker now that leaves a pencil line thick mark but in black ink so it doesn't vanish.
Crows foot...
I've recently starting sewing and *trying* to make clothes etc. and let me tell you... I have the exact same thing!
And then you find a random line from an unfinished project 3 years ago and cut along that and end up wildly off
Also, I swear I saw 23-3/4. Please write legibly! Even if it's just you who needs to see it!
I was expecting the old 33 3/4 becomes 32 3/4
That inch monster will get you every time
😂
How does that happen?!?! It’s gotten me a few times, and I swear I measure multiple times.
The reality and the clips hahhahaha
Lol 😂 😅 this is just true, and pisses me off 😢
No one talks about it because we use a crows foot and it doesn't just disappear
Oh man! I tell you what, that stuff be making me furious! I use a little marking knife now, and if I have to transfer the mark with a pencil so it freaking stays there lol.
Make a v not an I
Etching steel always gets me too lol
this is so true
This video is so accurate it pisses me off lol
So that's why you measure twice cut once
😂😂facts...
Imagine doing this on steel and you don't have your soapstone and all's what you have is a pencil The struggle is real usually I mark anything with metal with a grinder
Thanks for posting
You bet hoping someone learns from my story
I’m trying to figure out why my brand new wood table is removing sliver sized wood when I wipe it off with a microfiber washcloth? Really upsetting when I paid slightly over $1k for it.
Probably didn’t sand well enough before the final coat
I would not try this. I haven't met a top coat of poly that doesn't leave awful scratch marks. I almost fainted the first time I took a 320 grit sandpaper to my poly coated table I spent 2 days working on. you may be able to get away with it on wood but if you did this on a painted surface you would be left with awful swirl and scratch marks. and placing anything into that container of poly just ruins it . your supposed to pour the poly out into a container or plate and never contaminate the large container of products your going to be opening and closing over time.
I would agree with an oil based poly but the water based is much more forgiving
Great video
Thanks!
