Good morning from Georgia and Happy Wednesday. I love watching you and your mom cook, you look so good together. I noticed on the hash brown casserole recipe that you use frozen shredded potatoes. But, have you ever tried the "Simply Fresh" brand? They are not frozen and ready to go. Usually in the egg, biscuit area (cold side) of the store. Not to change your recipe, I think you might like them if they are available to you. Be blessed!

I am 66 and live next door to my Mom. Dad had to be put in a home because of Dementia. We have done Sunday lunch after church with the family as long as I can remember. We have 28 of us and most Sundays we have at least 20 of us there. My Mom would have it no other way and she is 85. Dad just turned 87. I am so Blessed to still have both of them.

I love this type of videos. It feels like my grandmas house. My grandma made rolls every Sunday. Everything revolved on that. We had either roast, ham, lasagna, or spaghetti and meatballs or fried chicken . My bonus grandfather was Sicilian. He taught her how to make it. Green salad with simple vinaigrette or coleslaw. Really good coconut pie or coconut cake. Played cards or dice after dinner. It was always a great day that I looked forward to.
My other grandmother made the best cornbread and biscuits. Always had beans and some kind of roast or fried meat. Good veggies. She wasn’t a baker though. I want to start doing this.

CT SCAN UPDATE!! I ask y'all to please continue to pray for me. I had my doctor's appointment this week for the CT scan. I was told that I have a tumor on my left temperal lobe, they didn't tell me the size, they just said that they caught it early enough that they are going to try medication first which is some kind of steroid that starts now (I have the medication) and have an appointment with a Neurosurgeon in June. Thank you in advance. Happy Easter! God Bless.

Takes me back to my childhood. We also had dinners at my grandma's every Sunday. My momma has carried on the tradition. She is 85, soon to be 86, and so us girls bring some side dishes and desserts to help her out. Precious times that I wouldn't trade for anything. Thanks for sharing your traditions with us.

My family is spread out all over the country, so, sadly we don't get to have a big family Sunday dinner every week. Mel & Granny, I enjoyed this vlog so much because it brought back so many wonderful memories around my Mom’s and My Mamaw’s Tables for Sunday Dinners with family and friends. I’m an only child with no children or grandchildren except those my husband and I have adopted in Christ, so we seldom have any family dinners now cause all my family have passed and gone to be with the Lord. I am very grateful for those memories and count them as great blessings and look forward to being together again with the Lord. Thank both of you for sharing these tips. You are very blessed to still have your Mom and Dad and these times together.

Momma Mel this was a great video that I enjoyed watching so much. It reminds me of my mom in the kitchen when she was trying to teach me how to cook. Well I never wanted to cook so I would always run outside to play with my friends. Well it’s my loss now because my mother has passed in 1994. My mother was a great cook, and all of those recipes I never learned to cook, and now I wish that I had learned to cook her recipes. I miss my mother’s cooking so much. Enjoy these precious memories with your mom and dad. And keep up the Sunday Dinners those are memories you can’t forget.

This video is so sweet. I had Easter dinner at my mother’s house today. My father passed away in 2017. There are five of us children plus our children who attend. We always gather at the table and have a wonderful meal. Which was followed by a screaming match between my sister and sister in law. AWKWARD!!! But anyhow, I’m a mother to two grown men and my husband . I prepare a full everyday for my family. Most of the time fully from scratch. But on occasions I make a fun meal, like homemade pizza or tacos or something. Mind you I am / was blessed to stay home with my children when they were growing up, my husband worked full time. Now my boys have full time jobs. But as soon as any one of them comes home they head straight into the kitchen to see what I’ve cooked. I get tickled at them. Sometimes they even text me from work to see what I’m cooking. I’m so happy I’m able to do this. Your mother is so sweet!

Loved the video! You are very lucky to have your mama in this time of phone cameras.. I would give everything I own to have a video with my mama cooking😢 and boy could she cook and bake. I am probably your mama's age now but you never ever stop missing them. Almost 30 years it's been.. oh and my name is Mel also... thanks for this to your sweet mama, please just give her a hug every chance you get! Much love!

That's so nice that you have Sunday dinner together and your mom cooks for you. We live near my husband's mother, but she never cooked on Sundays--we always ate out because that's what they wanted to do. I can't believe you still eat that Mac 'n Cheese (with powdered cheese) from a box as adults--I never really liked it as a child but it was easy to make.

You touched my heart with this video. I am 80 and I still cook and like new recipes. I don’t have any family left close to me, but my friends are my family. People are so kind to us. They make our life complete. Always stay and kind as you are.d

I love this!! We used to do this at my mother in law’s and my kids have such fond memories with their cousins. As the family grew and she got older that stopped. What a blessing that family time is!!

3 of my 4 boys have married and moved out. But I get 2 of my granddaughters every weekend. I've tried Sunday dinners. I love this idea. It's hard to do on Sundays after church because 2 if my boys have to work. So....we've started Friday Family Fun night. We do pizza and games. Sometimes we order in. Sometimes go out for pizza. And sometimes we make our own. It's worried we'll for the past few months since we started. Less stress for me with pizza and still creating fun memories and a tradition. Granny is a wonderful woman for keeping her family together. I can see where Mel gets her love of God and Family from. I hope you had Happy Easter together.

I have watched this video twice and enjoyed every minute. I definitely plan to make the cake, coleslaw and beans. Thank you again and may God bless your sweet family.

Thank you, I love this even though it made me cry. I grew up having Sunday lunch at my Grandmas with my whole family, we always had birthday dinners (everyone bring a dish) and she always did Christmas. My Mum passed away when I was 20 and my Grandma was my rock, she helped me with my daughter born just 3 months later making sure she had a Grandmas love. Grandma passed away just 3 years after Mum and I miss them both everyday.
