I have a SMP, and my opinion is that a razor shave has the best results. You can even shave your head every other day , and it still looks perfect because of the close shave that you get with a razor shave, so you even can skip a shaving day if you want. I like the Headblade for a eazy and fast close headshave, but that's my personal choice, any razor will be good enough what you are used to.
Cool, thanks for sharing your routine with us :) Yes, a foil gets just as low as a blade shave, but harder to shave every other day with a foil because it’s hard for the blade to chop through. That’s not as much an issue with a blade shaver 👍 The Headblade! Any particular model or just the first one I see when I jump on their website? It’s been a long time since I’ve tried a Headblade.
@@scalp_logicThanks! I have also a electric foil shaver and this works also great, but the Headblade works for me the best. I use the S4 Lunar Eclipse, This is like the original Headblade but then it's made of steel with weels and with rubber grip. So you don't have to pressure the Headblade to much because of the heavier weight of the Headblade itself in your hand and on your head. Works great for me.

Your comments were excellent. My hair is similar to yours. I use the Wahl clippers if I get lazy and a few days growth comes out on the sides. But like you, I want the tighter look, so I use the razor on the sides. Now, here’s my million dollar question that only a guy like you would know and I value your opinion on this. After an SMP procedure, I’m going to continue using the razor on the sides, but except for a few tiny little hairs that grow here and there on the top of my scalp, I am completely bald on the top and the back of the scalp. My hair line begins at the fringe loop, as do many men. That’s why for the last 20 years, I’ve been keeping my scalp tight with a wet razor cut. With a completed SMP, should I lightly go over the top of my scalp just to get rid of the tiny hairs that grow near the hairline. There’s only a hand full, not much. Some SMP artist say don’t use the wet razor on the top after an SMP as it my lighten the SMP prematurely. What say you on a wet razor being used on the top of your scalp just to lightly go over once. Maybe it’s not even necessary or advisable after the SMP. Please help?

I’m a barber for 30 years ... it truly depends on the person some people can only shave with the shaver because of skin irritation and hair type .. if the shaver is aligned correctly and the shaver can shave you super close without irritation.. the foil shaver gives some people rash and the razor blade is defiantly out of the question for some it just cuts way to close and gives them razor rash
You perfectly described my situation. I got my first round of smp just done and looking into closer shave options from this point on. I have always used clippers because when I shave with razors the next day my head is covered in bumps all over and takes 5-6 days to go away so I can clip it again. Since that's the case with my skin I don't know if a foil razor machine is something I can tolerate? Never tried one before..if not I guess my only option would be clippers to 0 gap them which I have never done before either just found the closest cutting clippers and used them. Also my smp artist used the Andis wired clippers before treatment and that was the closest cut with a machine I've never achieved before by any of my clippers. Was thinking to pick up the wireless version of Andis outliner but I read comments by barbers that the motor isn't the same as the wired version and it doesn't clip as close compared hmm 🤔

I wouldn't mind this procedure for the next 5 -10 years, but as I age I don't care for the skin look. Any comments/response/feedback on all this? THANKS
Hi there I’ve got a similar look to you with similar skin type and shade of SMP . I’ve just noticed in the last couple of months my head is starting to flake . The flakes are smal and dandruff like but the thing is I always moisturise my head and keep it hydrated but it’s still dry slightly . I use a razor 🪒 on my head and I’m thinking this may be the problem because of the stripped oils from using a blade so I need your help and advice on what to do to stop this flaking . I use a cream called FUSE which is specifically for SMP and I wash my head with normal shower gel . Any help would be appreciated because it’s stressing me out
Hi, thanks for the question. Your solution could be a few different things. First, it may be an internal situation, meaning your diet, stress, etc. It is worth shaving every 2 or 3 days to see if skipping a day or two helps your skin get healthy. If that doesn’t help, try an electric shaver of some sort. My best guess is that the products you’re using can be switched for something better. Never heard of fuse, but make sure the ingredients are natural, otherwise swap it for a natural lotion catered to your unique skin (hard to know without seeing you). Lastly, is your shower gel drying you out? It is worth swapping that product for something simple and natural.
@@scalp_logic Yeah I’ve only just started using the cream called FUSE so this may help and since the question the cream has been much better for my scalp .
