What would you do with a piece such as this when it's completed ? It's so beautiful I'd hate to cut it to use in a journal. I can't wait to hear what's you'll do with it. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work 🥰🥰
Thank you so much Lita 🥰 I think we often underestimate or get bored with the items already in our stash so it's really nice to be able to use them in new projects.
How wonderful - I found the whole process really addictive. Thankfully I came across it during the first lockdown last year and had nowhere else to be. I'm so happy to have inspired you.
Okay, I had no idea you did handwork until your last IG post. This is gorgeous! I can't wait to see what you do with this. Just amazing....and I love listening to you. I miss my Mel, from Australia....a former au pair for my boys so long ago. Aussies always end their words on a positive upward tone !!!! Xoxo Barbie
What a lovely comment Barbie, thank you xx I hate listening to myself on video so I'm glad you do. For now this piece is wrapped around an old wooden spool and I think that's where it will stay. I've had an urge to do more stitching so I may even add to it.
@@heyseaville55 очень жаль,что работа не будет оформлена в рамку и висеть на стене.Я не понимаю,зачем столько труда и времени потрачено,чтобы потом положить это в шкаф?! Это очень красиво,чтобы его прятать!
Ohhh that is beautiful! I can do all of those stitches! Never thought to put them all together! How relaxing. So I see it is very long. What will you be doing with it?
Sherry Cable I would never had thought to put them together either had it not been for the prompts and challenges I followed. It’s amazing how helpful it can be to see other people’s take on things. Right now the piece is wrapped around an old wooden bobbin so I can pull it out and look at it and maybe add some more stitches. Thank you for watching 🙂
Thanks so much Vanessa 🥰 I don’t have a plan to use it as it was my first attempt at slow stitching. It was more of a practice piece than anything else.
hello and thank you for your channel. fabulous....i did not get the last name of Rachel who you referred to in this video. In my heart I've always been a textile artist. So happy you are now in my circle of fun. warmest, t
Thank you so much Agnes 😊 You may be referring to pre-made daisies that came from ribbon on a straw hat I had. I cut them up and then added a French knot to the centre of each one to hold them in place. I think you could make something similar using simple straight stitches in a daisy shape. Hope that helps ❤️🪡
So pretty, I love this! What is the fabric on back? I assume you started with a long strip of it and just add other fabric pieces on top as you go? Do you machine stitch the base fabrics or is it all hand stitched?
Thank you so much Diane! 🙂 The base fabric is felt that I cut into strips about 25 cm long. Then hand stitched the larger pieces of fabric to the base and added the other pieces as I went. I only worked on a small section at a time and joined more strips of felt when had run out of space to work in. No machine stitching 🧵
Is it hard to embroider through the cotton wadding (batting)? I see most people stitch the patched cotton pieces first and then quilt onto the batting but I want to do it your way.
No not at all. I found it quite easy to stitch through fabric straight onto the batting. In some cases it gives lighter fabric more body to work with (if that makes sense). Give it a go and see if you like it.

Tela Long Rachel Roxburgh from Roxycreations on UA-cam, she embroiders, paints and makes journals.
Thanks so much Lucy!
I love it! ❤❤❤ So pretty. How do you do your daisies? . I can’t find anything like that anywhere.
