What an awesome advice! Haven't heard this anywhere else and had that "aha!" moment. Most videos I watch about how to grow on UA-cam says the exact same thing in different ways. Yes they're good to know, at first. But it becomes so repetitive that it seems like these channels are just doing it to have something to upload.

I'll be honest, on that screen where you asked us to see what they all had in common, I did not catch that at all lol.
My home page is a hodgepodge of all sorts of genres of videos. I'd go as far as saying, the types of videos I watch vs the types of videos I make, are very rarely even on the same planet. :)

As someone who focuses on POV walking videos, I noticed a lot of people include "4K" in the title and/or thumbnail, but I never really though much more about power people or power words. I'm excited to start paying more attention to this moving forward! I always learn something from your videos, so thank you!
That’s a good observation in your niche, I need to start doing more of that too.
exactly. 4k in the beginning works. people respect the video alot. also words like "biggest" or "best" works well. but i believe thumbnails are alot more important for a walking channel. keep up your walks!

Thanks so much Ed. Brilliant advice. It really does tally with what I have been seeing. Certain words really seem to have a subconscious resonance in my titles - as do questions. It’s about raising the curiosity in the minds of viewers who are interested in my broad subject area, but didn’t know that they didn’t know about a particular issue! This is great for homepage and browse - as you always say, this is the real target for growth.
The same furs for thumbnails. I have been working on this. I now go really plain to suit my general approach. But try to use either recognisable figures or figures that clearly have some sort of leadership role.
Thanks for highlighting all this. It really does confirm what I was beginning to sense! I certainly don’t always get it right, and I’m constantly experimenting with old videos, but I’m certainly seeing some really good results by following this approach.

Freekin awesome, thanks. Tip #1 is tough for my niche as I'd need to use video clips of that person to keep retention, but #2 is something Iv'e never done. As I look now at those keywords I can see a pattern and going to implement it on my next video.
I know you're busy so no worries If you don't get around to answering this, but I was wondering how your coming up next "tip icons" on the right hand screen with the loading bar worked for retention. You used these in 1 or 2 of your previous videos.

This is brilliant thanks! My subject is rocks, but your advice fully applies. We can just compare our rocks to the successful people's rocks (ours are good!) with a photo of the specimens side by side for a thumbnail. We can also use the other peoples name in our comparison description. Never would have thought of this (I didn't think it was allowed) so thanks again. We really enjoy your vidoes and your personality.

The information was great but I am sitting here trying to figure out who's video style you used for inspiration on this video haha. I have been using the influencer strategy for about a month now on 6 videos and they have been doing better then my others. I have been changing my strategy for more Home Page views by trying to make my thumbnails as conpetitive as possible and analyzing home page titles. I was getting 1 sub a week and now im averaging 1 a day but testing titles and thumbnails roughly every 2-4 weeks on older videos. Ed you are to gracious with your advice and give it out for free while I have spent $$$$ on courses that give the exact same information behind a paywall. Cheers!

I have a doubt..
I'm going to start a channel but to prevent it from getting hacked in future I planned to create a Brand account channel & adsense account with one of my gmails and all social media handles (other than YT) of tht channel on a separate gmail.
& In future I may launch shorts channel on another gmail.
My doubt is
all these planning is good ?
or I just over thinking, & these all should be better to create on a same gmail.

Hey Ed ! I just found you on UA-cam a few days ago !!! I absolutely love your videos !!! And all your helpful tips and information! I am learning a lot !!! You are absolutely amazing ! I do have a question 🙋🏽♀️, for my channel I Initially started and I was creating videos for direct sales people and teaching newer more effective ways of working. I now have switched the channel from that to my brand which is helping entrepreneurs how to show up and use video marketing strategies to grow their businesses, however should I start an entirely new channel in this situation or will the algorithm eventually correct and start tarting the right audience . I’m so confused 🫤 on this point. I’m not entirely new to UA-cam, but I definitely have a lot to learn. Also I unlisted all the videos that were meant for my direct sales people and just left the videos I want for my targeted audience. I’m hoping this all makes sense.
