- Six Flags Mexico is the countries largest amusement park, boasting 9 roller coasters, several thrilling flat rides, and tons of family attractions. It's very pretty and scenic, leading it to being called one of the best Six Flags parks. But is all as it seems?

What the heck happened during your visit? When I went last year, I thought the operations were some of the best in the world. I also had no problems remaining in my seat when there were walk ons. sorry to hear this wasn’t the case for you guys
Seems the park has made some policy changes since your last visit
@@CoasterStudios As a Texan who’s been to fiesta tx a lot. Don’t compare this to fiesta tx again😅
Bro, I went 3 weeks ago and I swear that he is right
Best operations in the world? Compared to what other parks? Your statement implies that you have been to EVERY theme park in the world. Now, if you are comparing operations to just the few other parks you've been too.....that's too small of a sample size to have your statement have credibility
@@nexpro6118 I’ve been to amusement parks in 10 different countries including USA, Mexico, Canada, Germany, Poland, Denmark, Benelux, etc, almost every Six Flags & Cedar Fair park, every SeaWorld park and almost all major independents in the country. I’d like to think I have a pretty good feel for this kind of thing.
As mexican, I totally agree with the video.
I am a Six Flags México Fan since 2013, but since COVID the park went downhill, Idk why but some employees are like very rude. I rode Batman years ago and they did let me put my phone on the slot. But 3 weeks ago they didnt.
Also, the dark knight coaster line wait was "5 minutes" but I spent 45 minutes. They need to improve so much things
Mexico in general has gone downhill since COVID
The rudeness is probably due to people wearing masks. Masks dehumanize people and I have noticed people were meaner here in the states too when they pushed them on us. BTW why is Mexico still obsessed with these damn things?
@@AdamSmith-gs2dv disagree bro, we are stable

As an American living in Mexico, I can tell you that one thing I've noticed is that employees here are very procedural. They always seem to follow the protocols of where they work very strictly.
Edit: PS, also definitely get to SF Mexico at least once so you can buy a platinum season pass for only like 70 bucks!!
The season pass is such a good idea. Wish Cedar Fair had a park in Mexico so I could do that 😂
I'd love for Mexico should be getting a theme park boom, like they've had for our water parks. The Six Flags on Mexico City could benefit from competitors both local and foreign.
Also, the park was once an hacienda, so that's not 'Spanish theming', that's just historical buildings 😅
I loved six flags Mexico. Medusa was amazing. The queue lines for Medusa and Joker were bizarre. Batman was so painful, it was interesting that the parking lot is dirt. It was a great time there.
I just returned from a 3 day weekend in Mexico City. This park far and away exceeded my expectations. Once you figure out the park specific policies (and they are very consistent, such as stapling, no loose articles left in station), and just enjoy the incredible atmosphere, engage with the very friendly and professional staff (had ONLY 10/10 interactions with all employees, which cannot be said for any of the other 10 six flags parks I’ve visited), and just vibe with this place. The theming, architecture, music, everything adds up to a very wonderful experience. Even though it’s primarily a typical cloned coaster layout lineup, the top two are world class and can stand up to any other “top two” out there, and the rides are all well maintained and the ops are very efficient. We saw five mechanics feverishly working on getting wheels replaced on a second train for Superman el Ultimo Escape so it could get it online asap. The food is phenomenal. Who cares if your dining plan is tricky? I paid $6US for a PHENOMENAL taco meal, which would blow away ANY theme park taco meal anywhere else on earth.
I can easily overlook the few small negative quirks when the overall experience is well above average for Six Flags.
Estoy completamente de acuerdo con todo lo que dices. Ojalá la administración del parque vea este video y hagan algo al respecto.
Me parece raro estes comentos porque visite al parque en 2019 y la experiencia fue de enfrente. Espero que el parque mejorara
That's awesome that you complimented my home park like that. That makes me proud of where I live. But I'm sorry you guys went through that. That sounds like a horrible management issue.
This is a huge surprise. Every other review I've heard of this park from someone else was extremely positive claiming it to be one of the best in the chain. Maybe this was just one of those times where the visit was just unlucky somehow. It's rare but it does happen every now and then.
I’ve always heard mixed reviews of this park. T+S’s experience was not that unusual.
I was there recently and it was awesome, everything on this video did not happen to us. Quite the contrary actually, we even got re-rides
I just returned from a 3 day trip there, I was very much surprised at how well this park is operated. They are the friendliest and most professional staff at any of the 11 SF parks I’ve visited. Once you learn their ride policies (like loose articles, stapling etc) and realize they are consistent across the board, it’s a lot less frustrating since every ride you walk up to will have the same rules. The food and vibe are all 10/10.
I literally just got back from SF Mexico and I have say that I agree with you 100%. Later in on the day they did decide to add two more cars on each ride, partly due to the Halloween event. The locker system does suck but we managed to sneak in some articles in our jackets 😂 The queues were inaccurate but I did get the flash pass and that saved a lot of time and emotional distress.
Okay hear me out. I’d love to see a Cedar Fair theme park here in Mexico as an alternative to Six Flags. We don’t have so many big parks in the country so that would be a nice addition.
As many things in this country, Corruption, is the answer... How much for the land, how much of taxes, and the mochada for the municipal, for the State and for the federal government
As a Mexican I think we're at a good point to start a theme park boom.
Some 4 or 5 big parks for them to compete
@@wolferm1 that's like regular government things. Taxes and regulations
That would be awesome
Update as of this November 2, 2023 Cedar Fair Parks just bought all of six flags which means the Mexico City Park will be having new management
I hope you do an updated La Ronde review. Would love to see how you compare the return trip to that first time.
Oh my god, been waiting on this review for so long!
Update as of November 2, 2023 Cedar Fair Parks Just bought all of the Six Flags Parks.
Perhaps Business operation For Six Flags Mexico will improve under the new management of Cedar Fair-Six Flags
So sad to hear that happened to you! Me personally have experienced both great and mediocre experiences on SF Mexico. Both on high season, and the critical points were those that you mention. I do believe the administration must focus on fixing this issue with their personnel and be more flexible with their policies. I do love a functional park that's welcoming to tourist from outside my country.
Hope you give it another shot in the future and hopefully have a much better experience
Keep the great vids coming!
I enjoyed my visit to this park, but there was one huge drawback: one train ops on the major coasters made the lines feel like a Saturday in July, even though it was a Tuesday in February.
I haven't been in a few years, I went in mid July and I was only there once, but I had none of those problems. Granted, I didn't have to deal with loose articles as it was just me and I didn't bring any, so I can't speak to that issue, but they let me marathon Superman at the end of the night for 3 rides without ever leaving my seat and 3 more with just moving rows because of a line and not leaving the station at all.
Actually, I think I had a better time at that park than I've had at any other Six Flags park I've been to. Everybody I met was super friendly, ops were on point and everything was fun.
I don't remember the closing practices, specifically, but my last ride on Superman that night was after park closing and I know there were other rides still running when we left.
Also, Superman: El Ultimo Escape might be the best hyper ever built not named Skyrush. I love that ride more than is healthy, I think. I really can't wait to get back to ride it again.
Totally agree with everything you guys say. As a local you learn How to deal with this but, when you have been to other parks it make no sense some things that happen here. On the other side Im glad that Sarah didnt left her phone on the box because for sure it was not going to be there after the ride. It is not like this All the time (but must) I really hope that they get a better service soon cause prices went up lately. Lets see. Big hug from Mexico And Thanks for visiting!
If theft is a big problem here, then I totally understand not having bins on the platform. As much as it would make things more convenient, it's not worth losing something valuable. HOWEVER, that doesn't excuse some of the other issues I brought up in this video.
Interesting. I went in 2017 and had zero issues. Easily one of my favorite parks I’ve been to.
Hey there... as a mexican I understand why they are like this for loose articles and no rerides. It would be a mess if they allowed it, some people here are just so stubborn.
And for leaving things on the station... most likely someone will steal them. Sad to know it's true.
For cutting the line early... what can I say?. It's no surprise for me although it's stupid. Perhaps it's something cultural, but if it happened to me I would just say "oh ok". A lot of things are like that over here.
The reride thing is surprising. I've been allowed to stay in my seat for up to six rides in a row at SFMM.
Dang! The loose article policy of having to hold on to something instead of putting it in a bin or on the platform hits me. About a month ago I was at SFStL about to re-ride American Thunder and I was told by an op that I had to ride with my hat on after I placed it under the little drink holder rack. Didn’t really understand why since I was able to store it there multiple times earlier in the day. So yeah, almost lost my favorite hat that day. Hope you guys had a fun and safe trip!
Why is this my comfort video? 😭😭😭😭
Yes, operations are not consistent, some times they're great and sometimes they're just awful
This park sounds like such a pain. The lockers and closures time issues would do my head in.
I love it when Taylor goes on a rant.
Welcome to Latin America, appreciate what you have in Europe and the US
My grandma from Ecuador has planned a trip to go to Mexico City. I told my grandma, "Six Flags Mexico is there, you may be too old for rollercoasters (she is 76 now), but I want to ride the rollercoasters there." The planning started in September 2022, but when she got back home that November, she fell ill, confined to her home for the rest of 2022 and all of 2023. When 2024 came, she was told she could travel, but must monitor her health. She spent 3 weeks in Peru in February and just today, told me she is in good health. April is cheaper for my grandma to fly to Los Angeles and since it is cheaper to book tickets a month in advance and I want to avoid crowds, I will take a flight on May 1 with a late night departure from Los Angeles arriving in Mexico City on May 2, which I will go to Six Flags Mexico. I will arrivne home late night May 4 so I can study on May 5, considering May 6 is a Monday.
Definitely disappointed to hear you didn't have a good visit. I visited on two weekdays in January 2 years ago and there were two trains on the major coasters, accurate wait times, and hustling ride operators. They were some of my best visits at any Six Flags park.
yeah but now they have changed management
Havent you been to SF Mexico once before for medusa? If so was it the same operations?
Also, I wonder if EltoroRyan had similar experiences here.
Personally if I found myself in town, Id definitely stop by.. but Im glad I can now be wary of some annoyances that may happen.
This was our only visit to the park, so we never got to experience the original Medusa
As far as the "random" goes this is very typical of Mexico in general I feel or more populated cities. Tijuana and all of Baja California have that same feel and it's normal. At least it is to me growing up in So Cal always making the trip down south across the border.
Wow. Those situations of line closures and confusion of when rides closed would piss me off beyond belief.
Every time I made it near that park I couldn’t get anyone to go with me. I’m going back with a fun group next year. Covid has really done a number on park operations the last couple years. I went to Busch Tampa earlier this year and almost everything was down. I rode one coaster and the drop tower, that’s it. I didn’t get to cedar point this year but 2 years ago you had to lineup to get an opportunity to lineup for a ride. It would take 4 days to ride everything with how that place was moving. Fun spot is still killing it though.
This is the SAME park that once featured Keiko the orca from "Free Willy" before he was returned to the wild in Iceland.
I have gone more than 6 times to Six Flags Mexico with spanish as my first language, and the language is not the problem. The problem with Six Flags Mexico is that it depends a lot on how nice the employees are, because I've seen that sometimes they even let the entire cart ride a second time. For me you can either have a terrible experience or a very fun one.
IN SEA WORLD SAN DIEGO U CAN RIDE 30 SECONDS BEFORE THE CLOSING TIME..FOR EVERYRIDE.SEA WORLD SAN DIEGO IS DOPE ON THAT...
Honestly chain wide, it looks like no one park’s policies are the same as another, and that in itself should be a problem worth addressing. Especially when they differ from rides in the same park.
I can’t understand how a park progresses backwards. But anything goes when Six Flags is involved I guess.
My home park (Tripsdrill, Germany) has some ride ops who also don't let you stay in your seat if there are not enough people to fill the trains - however, they used to do that till some people waiting in line got mad to the point of threatening ride ops if they just let that happen, even tho it wouldn't have made a difference for those waiting. Maybe the people working here had similar things happen to them (but yeah some stuff they pull here is kinda over the top).
I can't imagine the chaos and confusion of this park on a fright fest night.
I think you have to realize that you are visiting one of the largest cities in the world when you go to Mexico City. Additionally there is not the rush and hurry you find in NYC or Tokyo. It’s a much more relaxed affair. I imagine the theme park operations reflect that. I’ve never seen more people crammed into a subway train as I did in Tokyo-in Mexico City everyone just sort of boards when there is room. Then people walking up and down the train try to sell you everything from school books to laptops.
I think you were on a bad day, I was there recently and completely the opposite. We're never forced to use lockers and we got two re-rides. Sometimes if you bring negative energy and are looking to complain about something, you'll find something to complain about
They probably don’t let you leave your stuff at the station for fear of someone stealing your stuff.. idk tho cause they only run one train.
No soy mexicana, pero creo que subestimar el tiempo de espera es algo muy cultural entre pueblos latinoamericanos. No lo veo como algo malo, solo es diferente a lo que él no está acostumbrado.
If you could pick only one amusement park to go to what would u pick
Went in July and was prepared to have a terrible time because of your videos back in March. We had very few problems of the ones your complaining about for the third time… Especially since a lot of them are very specific to the way you visit parks
They didn’t even close the rides close early… you went down during the off season. It reasonable to expect operations to be limited
Thank you for sharing Taylor! Greetings from the Netherlands...
I went last July and they were actually running two cars in most coasters, operation were definitely better.
when will the walibi holland vlog come out? i really want to hear your opinions on untamed!
it'll probably be around early/mid november- there's a couple coastin' thru europe vlogs that need to come out first!
@@CoasterStudios ok cant wait!
Love your vids!
I am Mexican and the problems are accurate, tho the management issues didnt exist before covid, I remeber when I was younger and my cousin got on superman 5 times in a row without getting up, and since I was really short I didnt but it was like nothing happened, but since Covid things has been getting really routine-ish and tougher...
That shade on Energylandia :D
Weird, the one time I went to that park was Fourth of July weekend in 2019 and it was empty.
Oh six flags mexico. I hope it's not as bad as LA Ronde. That review was both tragic and a classic. Side note, it's cool that Sarah speaks Spanish. I understand it but I'm not totally fluent although I'm getting there
See the recent video of people hanging in that ride chains 100s of feet off the ground during a thunderstorm.
Believe it or not what happened to you on dark knight happened to me on Apollo’s chariot at Busch gardens, I was standing in the station and I was two rides away from getting on then a very similar thing happened they came on the intercom and said that it was closed for the day and there’s wasn’t anything wrong with it and the line wasn’t long at all so either they wanted to go home to or they were just stupid
Not sure if I would want to go to this park now until they get this fixed cuz I would not be happy with all the issues
Yeah, six flags has a bad reputation at international parks like this and La Ronde
I went there last weekend. Now they run more trains, and they let you ride again.
When will the next episode of coasting through Europe release?
this weekend!
It seems to be a trend for parks starting to just add dumb policies that make no sense. I was just at Hershey Park and the operations were completely AWFUL cause they do not open the gates for riders until every single rider on the previous train is unloaded and out of the station. Like what? Yet somehow their policy is also to allow rerides if you're lucky enough to visit on a day dead enough where the 10 minute loading times still don't cause a wait.
Cool
i also went during that time frame and operations were reaaally bad. anyway the whole reride thing is weird since i got to reride medusa like 4 times in a row in an empty morning a few years ago. hm.
if it was at the end of the night for the rerides maybe they just wanted to get everyone through the line so they could go home but the estop thing is ridiculous
You make the employees work one hour after the park closes... then it's fair for all of the guests and no issues arise
😮 I am trying to go
Please can you do a best roller coaster video 🙏
I have seen the platform policy extend to some other six flags parks, most notably six flags over Georgia in Superman the ride. Back in 2018 during Holiday in the park i was going to ride Superman for the first time since Fright Fest that season, back during fright fest I had my stuff in a locker and didn’t realize how inconsistent the loose article policies were there, but i remember Superman having a bin on the ride platform. Well, that is no one but employees can use it for some unspecified reason. Umm, why do you have a bin with slots specifically for keys, phones, and wallets but yet you don’t let guests utilize and I had to regrettably ride the attraction with my phone wedged between my pants waistband and boxer waistband and prayed it wouldn’t fly out. Six flags has some very inconsistent policies when it comes to loose articles, heck later in summer 2019 I went to Six flags over Texas and had similar issues where they wouldn’t let me use New Texas giants, although they had small zipper pockets on the train. I could get in to their back row policy, but I acknowledge that the 2013 incident on the NTG lead to most of those rules. However, they need to address issues like these chain wide and come up with better ways to inform guests, or adjust their features for guest safety and satisfaction because it’ll bite em in the end especially with ride safety.
Honestly, I think it may be underpayment, bad managers, bad communication between the employees, and most likely more reasons. For the problem with them not letting you use the cubbies in stations, it makes sense because there are A LOT of theifs in Mexico and when I say a lot, I mean A LOT. For closing rides at random times, it may be that they just want to get over, and they really just don’t care. Most people in mexico have multiple jobs, so burnout as well. I think that you really shouldn’t be taking it out on the employees, you should really just enjoy the park! In my opinion, I think 2 days was not enough, maybe 3-4 days would have let you really just overall enjoy the Mexican and Latino cultures.
You guys should have a video of Taylor trying to guess the ride and Sara saying it in Spanish (obviously not originally in Spanish)
Six flags in New Jersey has 14 coasters and 510 acres of land
are you done with all European theme parks from your tour?!
nope, we actually have quite a few left to do! The series will be picking back up again this weekend! :D
I think this sums up the problem with Six Flags. The operations are so hit or miss even at the same park from visit to visit. Some six flags parks are maybe overall a little better than others, but in general I think at all six flags parks the experience is inconsistent and can go from good to bad between visits. I notice this even at the six flags parks I go to more regularly. Overall that is what makes this company bottom tier and so frustrating to guests.
Hey I live in Mexico and I can tell you that that is true all the employees are very confused and they kicked me out of Medusa
Superman was closed when I was there, which was a massive loss. Medusa was awesome and superman looks great, but their supporting lineup of coasters are absolute rubbish. Couple of good flat rides and I was about done with the place in half a day.
Would definitely be nice to see some quality additions to their supporting line up. A launch coaster would be perfect here.
orignal title was six flags on crack
Can you do another cedar point review
its on our to do list at some point!
How is Mexico to tourists though? I've heard horrible stories of what happens outside of the resorts, is it true?
We never had any issues
Mexico City is totally different from the resort towns. They don’t get a lot of American tourists. There are Federales everywhere. It’s pretty safe. I didn’t visit 6 flags on my trip, but as a solo female traveler I didn’t have any problems at all in Mexico City.

Is this the worst Six Flags park over La Ronde, or slightly better?
Its one of the best SF parks appearance wise, it just has some strange and stressful policies that take away from things. For that reason its tough to say where it ranks in the Six Flags family, but its not at the bottom
Damn that’s disappointing to hear. I’d take a mediocre park run phenomenally over a super impressive park that couldn’t care less about guest experience any day of the week

It's Mexico. This is the kind of stuff they do in second world countries. I went to China in 2008 and there were also a bunch of strange rules that didn't make any sense
As a whole six flags park's suck which is why I left SFA behind back in 07 in favor of KD and now KD has become the SFA of the cedar fair chain.
