    Few days ago Six Flags Mexico announced that they will close their Boomerang but then they announced that it will be improved like the one in Fiesta Texas, so it wouldn’t surprise me if other Boomerangs also get “re-imagined”.

    I think for Wonderland, a GCI woodie would be amazing, though, If they were to ever remove both Flight Deck And Time Warp I think it'd be a better idea if they'd needed to replace it with a Vekoma Suspended Thrill Coaster & Family boomerang bundle, similar to Na Fianna Force at Emerald park in Ireland. It is very expensive but Not only are modern Vekomas more reliable (I think), they can fit perfectly within the plot of land of both attractions and this can also help Wonderland keep its coaster count record at 19!

    It only took the temporary closure of 3 coasters to cancel our 10 hr trip down to Carowinds. They'd better get something to replace them quickly if they care about attendance.

    Here’s my choices for the 11 possible coasters that the new Six Flags could remove next:
    1. Flight Deck and Time Warp (Canada’s Wonderland)
    2. Boomerang (Six Flags St. Louis)
    3. Apocalypse (Six Flags America)
    4. Anaconda (Kings Dominion)
    5. Flashback (Six Flags New England)
    6. Kong (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom)
    7. Kid Flash (Six Flags Over Georgia/Six Flags Fiesta Texas)
    8. Exacalibur (ValleyFair)

    I would like to see SFOG remove the Axis arena also along with Kid Flash at the same time and add in a dive coaster in its place cuz of how much of a terrible investment it was since everyone knew that it was going to fail ever since its announcement. SF didn’t learn their lesson from Harley Quinn when thinking about investing in Skyline’s coasters.

    100% agree with batwing, but could see them just shut it down, and use those trains and parts for nighthawk. superman I think they are just waiting for the official word. honestly shocked anyone even buys those Skyline Attractions coasters. you'd think after tidal twister and harleys crazy coaster theme parks would have got the idea the company probably isn't that good, but oh well. if they do gut TT2 they best have some insane coaster to replace it, or the community is going to have a field day with them. other coasters I can see going away: Carowinds- hurler and Carolina cyclone. they have got the same markers appearing around them as kai and lantern did. so I wouldn't be shocked to see them + drop zone gone to make way for that new water coaster. make it something like those ones in Europe with a nice layout. god forbid they do aquaman powersplash.

    I agree with most of the list but i think X2 is a little bit of a stretch. The coaster dosnt have nearly the kind of problems that it used to have when it was X before the conversion to X2. One interesting thing i was thinking is with how X is designed they could retrack it and it be a whole different ride. I do see superman being the next coaster to go and then sadly Viper not long after that. Monte is a weird story cause its been in pieces for the past 2 plus years. 50 percent of that ride is gone already. So not sure what knotts is doing with it. One coaster im surprised didnt make the list was Xcelerator. That coaster has had so many problems lately. Especially that 2 year down time they had just recently. Im sure that coaster has the eye of six flags to be removed soon.

    If Darien Lake has to remove a coaster, it should be Motocoaster, it hardly ever ran this year, it's in a odd area of the park (they literally filled in the campground pools and just plopped it on top of it), and you don't have full access of Darien Square anymore to get to it easier.

      DL like all the EPR owned lease parks are going to have their leases ended early if it's not cost prohibitive with penalty clauses. They were a terrible final decision made out of desperation to hide the lack of organic financial growth.

    • @markvolpe2305
      @markvolpe2305 День тому

      @MCQ-fq6bv it was a terrible decision when Six Flags sold Darien Lake and Frontier City to a RIOT (CNL Lifestyles and later sold it to EPR) in the first place which is why those parks got neglected for so long and now has an identity crises.

    • @MCQ-fq6bv

      @@markvolpe2305 Those parks were sold for a reason, they weren't as valuable as others in the chain. SF invested a bunch of money in DL over a short period when they actually owned it, yet they sold it off b/c it wasn't producing enough. All of the EPR lease dry parks and water parks are likely gone if they can get out of the leases. They are a disaster. FC has taken 16M impairment multiple years and to slow the bleeding they have severely cut back the operating schedule. The park was closed 2 days a week this year during prime season.

    A new coaster at the front entrance of KI is great, but don't take out the entrance restaurant building, it would need to go where you said, have it interacting with the plaza, other parks in the area like Dollywood, HW and KK are stepping up their games, so KI needs to as well. That would really set the park up for the future, it hasn't happened since Invertigo was added to the front of the park, but you can't really see it that good. I don't know about using that much land for this coaster, that would be a big coaster, like Orion or Diamondback.

The last day of the season the were making it a point it was the 40th season by saying “thank you for riding Steamin Demon on its 40th season” which they didn’t really do it all year. You can’t replace X2. I know everyone enthusiast wants to say the same old “replace it with a giga” that wouldn’t come close. I love Fury 325 but I would not trade X for it. I can get a Fury 325 like experience on other coasters as much as people don’t want to admit Orion literally has the exact same first drop and sense of speed it’s just not as long. Millenium Force is also very similar the only one of them that’s different is I305 but god knows nothing like that is getting built again. There is absolutely nothing else in the US like X2.

    • @Themeparkanxiety
      @Themeparkanxiety День тому +2

      While all that may be true, none of that would play a role in any decision to close it. It would be strictly business reasons for the decision. Operational costs, downtime, skyrocketing maintenance budgets all play more of a factor. Yes, X2 draws people to the park, but what happens when they get there and the ride is closed? Or running with one train?

      There's a lot of variables to consider. Many of these rides are between twenty and thirty years old. The track structure may not be able to easily survive a relocation. Once relocated, older rides tend to rapidly develop irreversible roughness. Also, some of these rides are being removed due to the scarcity of replacement parts. There's a lot of good reasons why most of these rides should not be relocated. It would often be more cost effective to simply build a brand new ride.

    Here's a rumor I heard from a source recently about sfmm's long term future. Apparently. The park no longer cares about their Coaster record and are planning to axe a lot of stuff.
    Superman EFK, Scrambler and Scream are all being removed within the coming months. Scrambler is already done. Removed from the website as it got damaged from a tree. Superman is done too. Maitenance said it failed an inspection and the park doesn't want to reopen it. Scream is one of the least popular Coasters in the park and is suffering from structural damage (like green lantern) and will most likely be scrapped. Allegedly, it'll be replaced by a 2nd Gate.
    Now. Riddlers Revenge and X2. Given Green Lantern, it isn't surprising Riddler is in the hot seat as well. Same with X2. The reason why I'm lumping these two together is because their fate is still undecided. They're safe for now, but something will need to be done within the next decade. The current talk is for a nemesis treatment for Riddler (reusing Scream's trains and floorless tech) and for..... get this. The complete removal of X2. However it would immediately be replaced by a new S&S 4D Coastsr that's even taller and has crazier elements. Given the name, X3. However. Six flags is still deciding If these projects are worth the cost, which is why it's undecided.
    Finally. Viper. This ride is done. Once project 2026 is done, Viper is next. No idea what it's replacement is.
    Take this with a grain of salt. It sounds absolutely insane. But so was removing the world's tallest Coaster .

    CF management is trying to save the disaster that is SF legacy parks by getting rid of high maintenance, high operation costs. low ridership and/or bad coasters. KA was a complete rattle trap and was unrideable other than in row 1 or 2. Ridership had been declining for years, perfect days this summer it had 15 minute lines and that's not b/c ops were great. Green Lantern was garbage like all stand ups, good in theory when they came out 20yrs ago, terrible in actual experience. SF parks are a financial disaster and have been for a long time. Just look at the financials of CF, SEAS and SF over the years, even more so post pandemic when CF and SEAS were producing records and SF regressed to 2017 levels of financials during a boom time in the industry. The first joint financials lay out the severe under performance of SF legacy vs CF legacy parks.
    CF legacy parks Revenue 792M, ADJ Ebidta 352M, Net Income 108M, Attendance 11.8MM
    SF legacy parks Revenue 558M, ADJ Ebidta 206M, Net Income 3M(not a typo), Attendance 9.2MM
    CF legacy ran circles around SF legacy despite SF having 16 dry parks vs 11, having more large metro markets and 103 more operating days.
    ---CF management is trying to save the disaster that is SF legacy parks, something they should have probably never taken on and not merged. SF would have eventually continued their downward trajectory ran themselves into bankruptcy or struggling so much they might have had to sell the parks CF really wanted, which are the Texas parks.

      America, etc...whether they can succeed in getting the ROI is debatable, Yes,the parks will be improved, that doesn't mean they will get the financial results they want, which is what matters to the management and shareholders.

      Said, this in other posts, CF management is going to try to make the bigger Sf parks more like the big CF legacy parks. They see a lot of long term potential in SFMM, GAdv, SFFT, SFOT, SFOG, Great America...the other Sf legacy parks will be treated likely like the smaller CF legacy parks and some of SF smaller parks could be sold. But, the bigger parks they feel have been completely mismanaged and thus severely under performed. A park like GAdv instead of $80 season passes should be closer to $130(current price of CF top 3 revenue parks of Knotts, Cedar Point, Kings Island). GAdv main competition of Hershey has their cheapest pass at $154, the one closest to SF Gold is $189. After they make improvements to Gadv the pricing will eventually go up. The area cleared with all the removals is more than likely going to be a new/rethemed areas with the new coaster as the center point, that's been CF managements modus operandi

    Here’s my list of removals:
    Great Adventure: El toro and Superman. Yes it’s a two-for but to be fair I could see half of the Great Adventure park being demolished so I am keeping it limited to the biggest offenders.
    New England: Flashback
    Great Escape: Everything but Comet and Bobcat because they just removed the best ride in the park with Bobsleds and Steaming Demon, their Boomerang, and arrow mine train are all bad.
    Six Flags Great America: V2 and Maxx Force. V2 doesn’t have the capacity the park needs and Maxx force is just not a good ride. They also removed the other compressed air launch coaster at King’s Dominion so this makes sense.
    SFA: yeah Batwing; one of the best rides in the park and vastly superior to the B&M fliers but like all fliers it’s a maintenance headache.
    King’s Dominion: Back lot stunt coaster. It does not fit in with the expedition/animal theme at all. At least with Flight of Fear it kind of has an exploration feel with aliens so it kind of fits better. Kind of. This ride will at minimum be reskinned maybe removed depending on how much money the park wants to invest.
    Dorney: Possessed. Granted I think this ride really just needs a new paint job but it’s that or their mad mouse coaster. I’d remove the mad mouse personally and try and put something unique to the area there but Cedar Fair hates intamin so Possessed makes more sense.
    Michigan’s Adventure: Mad Mouse. I hear it’s been maintained and run badly unfortunately. This was my favorite ride as a kid so it hurts to think it will go but it’s Mad Mouse or Corkscrew.
    Valleyfair: Their intamin launch coaster; it might sounds like I’m hating on these and I don’t like them, but it’s intamin. Cedar Fair doesn’t like Intamin. If this ride is safe cause of its small footprint then probably Excalibur since it’s way off alone in the back. Renegade is also super rough right now that it’s not enjoyable but that might be fixed with some love and Titan track.
    Knotts: Coast rider is the worst ride there, but its small footprint might save it. I would also put pony express or Excellerator on the list for potential removals because it’s either hidden in the back or it’s an intamin hydrolytic launch coaster.
    CGA: I’m praying the city buys the park.
    Kings Island: Invertigo makes the most sense. But watch it be the bat.
    Cedar Point: TT2 (if it can’t be fixed) or Raptor. If TT2 can be fixed then it will have a long life; I presume they can fix it because they say it will open next year. Raptor, however, when I rode it in 2021 was a miserable ride, and it wasn’t just me. I was for once with a group of friends and we all thought it was horrible and were questioning the rest of the day what the heck happened to Raptor since the last time we’d been there. If not Raptor then I would say Steel Vengeance, Maverick, or Millennium Force because they are maintenance headaches and Cedar Fair hates the manufacturers.
    That’s all the Six Flags parks I’ve been to and it’s probably not fair to comment on those I know nothing about. That said I tried to keep my list to only a few rides but I could legit see more going out of some of these parks. Granted I don’t think they’ll remove much from Dorney, MI Adventure, and Valleyfair cause there’s not much to remove.

    • @MCQ-fq6bv
      @MCQ-fq6bv День тому +1

      Lol..this even more ridiculous than 1/2 the stuff in the video. ie...Great America V2 (Flash) and Maxx Force are going nowhere and the capacity logic is asinine, it's not an issue. CGA is not being bought by the city, that's beyond ridiculous. The land under the park was sold for 320M, the land has gotten more value each year since. The actual assets of the park are minimum 100M. The park was a low revenue, low ebidta, net income park. The city isn't paying the combined 420M minimum probably closer to 500M to by the land and park for a park that was making single digits net income millions per year. They would never get their money back and tax payers would have been saddled with an albatross. Also, at GAdv Superman is still very popular with low down time. El toro is also popular though it's not running at the height of it's glory, they could possible put Titan Track on the rough spots.

    • @ninjagirl226
      @ninjagirl226 День тому +1

      @ Capacity is a sound logic because look at how Cedar Fair runs Cedar point. They’ve removed low capacity, high thrill rides like wicked twister so V2 makes complete sense.
      Also I argued Maxx Force to be removed not due to capacity but because of the launch system as Cedar Fair removed their air compression launch coaster at King’s Dominion. It’s also just not a good ride in my option.
      CGA has been owned by the city in the past. And they have said they don’t want to lose the park. Meaning while the land has been sold they have no intentions of rezoning the land for anything other than theme park use, which limits its value since you can’t build a skyscraper or apartments there.
      Personally I think the 49ers should buy it; they already share a parking lot. But that is more crazy.
      And for Great Adventure. Superman has a low down time? Hahahahahaha! I’m sorry this is one of my home parks. Superman keeps breaking down on the lift hill and is traumatizing people. It only has a line because it’s on one train ops and even then the line isn’t long. Green Lantern normally had a longer line before the rumors started. lol.
      El Toro is kind of popular. But it breaks down every 5 min. I’m not joking when I say it’s less reliable than Ka. And I wouldn’t be surprised in the maintenance costs rivaled Ka. And beyond that it has 3 recent PR black eyes and it’s gotten rough. I have talked to people around the park and a lot of people won’t ride el Toro because of the derailment or how rough it is, and seeing how I’ve never waited more than 10 min for El toro I have to believe this is a general feeling among park goers. Don’t get me wrong I love el Toro; it’s the best ride in the park, but I’m not going to ignore the obvious at this point. And it is the most obvious ride to be removed outside those that are standing but not operating.

      @@ninjagirl226 Capacity is irrelevant to how the park is run Most of their coasters have suspect capacity and there is zero chance they are removing either one. CP had a Intamin impulse for years and it was removed not b/c of capacity, but for maintenance. Maxx force is 5 years old zero chance they remove it, it's poor capacity withstanding.
      --The city is not buying CGA, your post is thoosie logic. It's closing 100%. It's a lie that it was ever zoned just for theme park. I know more about this than you wish, I looked it up years ago, It's zone for mixed use, light industrial and entertainment. It's also a lie they won't rezone it, several city council people are on the record about it. Hint, they have a massive housing shortage, if they wanted to rezone it to residential it would pass in a minute. Housing is more important than a theme park that made little money for the city or the operator.
      --The entire park was a virtual Ghost town on late July/early August on perfect days over recent years. Light lines are the norm for a dying/mismanaged park. I have all park season flash pass so even the relative short lines were irrelevant.

      Great Escape is refurbishing Flashback/Boomerang so that’s good to go for several more years. The next coaster to go would be Steamin Demon. It sits on prime real estate at the front with room to expand the footprint if needed. Canyon Blaster would be next but it’s more popular than Steamin Demon at the moment with not a lot of space to immediately work with.

      i agree with *most* of this. Toro I don't see going anywhere anytime soon if they can maintain it, Maxx Force is DEFINETLY not going anywhere. It JUST opened, it's a fantastic ride, and they did a massive refurbishment that took I believe 4 or so months in either 2021 or 2022 to make it more reliable. It also constantly has at least a 30 minute line, mininum. No matter how empty the park is. It's capacity is decent, for sure not the greatest but it works, helps with it having multi move (don't argue it doesn't, I've watched it a bunch as SFGAm is my home park, it does. The moment the train parked in the station dispatches, the brakes on the brake run and station drop at the same time, they advance at the same time, the tires on the brake run start slow until the train clears about 95% of the station, then it advances into the back of the station, slows down and then speeds up again to park). Vertical Velocity COULD be removed, but not likely. Raptor is not going anywhere, it's in way too good shape to get scrapped. Relocation, maybe. Otherwise I agree with the list. Excuse the essay, I had a ton to say about Maxx Force as it has a big spot in my heart for launch coasters.
