I really enjoy your videos. I appreciate how you tell what's going on, what you're catching, the conditions, good to eat or not. You have a no-nonsense way about your presentation, no cussing and no silliness. Looking forward to some more Keys fishing videos.
Wow I love your videos. No BS, no selling, no heavy metal. Perfect amount of info. That's a lot of action for being in the spot the first time. Love it!
Honestly man seeing you work these lures on these bridges is so refreshing it’s such a different form of fishing from what is normally practiced here and I just really like the video
I used to run down to the Keys every winter back in the day. Seeing the bridges and the beautiful green water brings back a lot of good memories. Maybe try Spanish Harbor, it is a little deeper around that bridge. I'm dying to try fresh Yellow Jack!
Elias, you need to link up with Key West Kayak Fishing. That would be a legendary collab. So much knowledge between the two of you lol. Even if y’all just sat down and did a short podcast.
Thank you for the memories. Born in and lived in Florida most of my adult life. Fished Bahia Honda quite a bit but mostly central Florida. I surely miss my Florida saltwater fishing!
Oh, Yellow Jack. Oh man, 1/2" short... You are on the Jacks for sure. May have been a SchoolMaster Snapper. Good to see you down this way having fun. Weather has been great the last few days. Leave me a couple here and there.
Love the keys. Best fishing day ever, last month on the Tennessee Reef. More keeper Muttons than you wanted. Also hung and lost my first sail. So many crab trap hazzards.
I’ve been watching you for years. I’m just absolutely impressed that you flat out catch em everywhere you go. Love your content one of my fav channels.
Take that Jack and cut it into s into stakes flour it fried real quick and then drop it in some tomato sauce let it cook for a little bit and then put it over white rice
I always throw a little ProCure on my jigs or paddletails or whatever I am using around 7 mile bridge. It seems to make a big difference especially on larger fish…….justa little tip for the future!😎
That one jack you called a blue runner is actually a Barjack if I'm not mistaken or it might just be a nickname. (9:00) They're pretty rare, with exceptional eyesight and are very cautious to even eat live bait. That was a nice catch on lure. I caught one when I was a kid and it had a knarly parasite crawl out of mouth that looked like a sandflea (mole crab) from hell. I haven't targeted them since. I know they like sardines, not nearly as fond of pilchards, will eat crustaceans with the right presentation... And love structure like pilings. They use the pilings to forage by quickly zipping around them and catching baits off guard. It's pretty interesting when you see them because they are almost always in pairs or triples. They are excellent at using each other to corner baits and that's why I believe they're so weary towards fisherman but I know they're eyesight is nothing less than incredible. At first I thought this could have been a rainbow runner but I remember correctly a rainbow runner has longer, more bullet shaped appearance. But they do start out kind of shaped like that so if I'm wrong stand me corrected.
The parasite you saw that looked like a sand flea from hell (😂) sounds exactly like a parasite I read about recently. I don’t remember the proper name, but they attach to a fish’s gill plate and a mature female will migrate to the fish’s tongue where it gets nourishment by tapping into the blood vessels in the tongue. The tongue eventually dies off from lack of circulation and parasite attaches to the remaining “tongue stump”, effectively replacing the fish’s tongue! It then gets nourishment orally from whatever the fish eats. Fish can live out their lives mostly unaffected (aside from scaring the crap out of a few fishermen here and there). Look up “fish tongue parasite” for some gnarly pics.
🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 my instant reaction when you pinched the tail and it was barely short! I knew with your expertise you were bound to come across a black grouper. Truly hope you’d catch a keeper size before the start of 2022! Happy New Years and keep up the amazing videos❤️❤️❤️
What a fun way to get em at the bridges. Great job. Looks like a lotta fun. Great assortment on artificials. Back in 2002 I was fishing with my buddy who’s a charter fisherman out of north Miami. I would go with him when I had off from work just to help him make money. One day I caught a 29lb yelllw Jack. For shots snd giggles, I checked the record book that night snd found out that I broke the record by 10 lbs. I called him immediately to ask where the fish went. He assured me that it was “sushi” by that point. Lol oh well, at least I have pictures of it. Keep up the great work.
Looks like a Great way to spend the day. Really enjoyed watching you here. I'd add fishing in Fla. Keys to the Bucket list, But got to many things on the list already!
man grove snapper are tasty eatings. Back in 2005 when the hurricanes hit there, I was doing disaster restoration helping to rebuild homes. I ate a LOT of mangove snapper just hooked off dead shrimp I bought at publix lol Southern tip Florida is SOOOO much fucking fun for fishing.
Maybe the yellow tailed snapper was a juvenile cubera? I know they catch giant cubera down there fishing whole live lobsters. Also, any chance the big disc shaped one's were permit? I know they frequent the bridges but no idea on time of year.
Tnx Elias, I really enjoy your videos! I would be happy for your recommendation, Jig head that i can use for grouper fishing in 30-40 m depth Most of them that i know are Lightweight Tnx

Fish IDs were Bar Jack, Dog Snapper, and a Sailors Choice “grunt”
that jack was a barjack, and the grunt was a sailors choice grunt. both pretty tasty. that grunt tastes almost exaclty like mangrove.
@eliasvfishing that snapper was a dog snapper and the jack with a blue line is a barjack. Both edible and great table fare.
Lane snapper

Super Elias very very habitat 😮 popolato 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟
The round fish you were describing were probably Permit. They are in the pompano family and are commonly found around the bridges down there
Exactly what I was going to say. Permit are frequently caught there. Need crabs or live shrimp to catch them.
Agree…best fishing videos on UA-cam! Have a great time in FL!!
Oh, Yellow Jack. Oh man, 1/2" short... You are on the Jacks for sure. May have been a SchoolMaster Snapper. Good to see you down this way having fun. Weather has been great the last few days. Leave me a couple here and there.
lol that last fish took line and left the building, great video
I am going through a tough time right now. Thanks for the great escape via your videos here and on Patreon.
I take my boat from Wilmington to Marathon Fl to fish the 7-mile bridge area also, but I go down there to catch sharks the size of that kayak!
The bite does slow down when the water slows yet keep fishing the structure. The fish are there waiting the change.
You are a great teacher and I need to go there. Get some supper! Thanks for what you do.
That must be one of the best fishing locations of Earth! Awesome video!
That's my favorite spot in the Keys. We were there in April. I really want to be back there permanently.
Caught 6 cudas beyond there the other day massive fish
Will be there in a couple days... and will try that bucktail with the plastic shad! And that silver spoon with red teaser! thanks.
Nice fish! Tip...glue a tape measure along your gunnel for easy measuring.
02:42 almost looks like a Scamp... Pretty close. But think Scamp has more of a uneven tail fin.
Love the keys. Best fishing day ever, last month on the Tennessee Reef. More keeper Muttons than you wanted. Also hung and lost my first sail. So many crab trap hazzards.
Looks like you're having a great time in the Keys. Enjoy, catch a lot of fish, but most importantly, be safe. Happy New Year to you and your family.
I really enjoy watching your videos thank you so much for sharing
I’m in south Jersey looking at my Florida saltwater fishing regs magazine. You were right. Schoolmaster snapper!!
All the fish down there have beautiful colors and markings. Everything up here have dull colors mostly
I’ve been watching you for years. I’m just absolutely impressed that you flat out catch em everywhere you go. Love your content one of my fav channels.
This place is amazing. The fish seem to be coming to the lures like magnet
Pretty sure the fish at 10:19 is a Sailors Choice Grunt
You seem to amaze me all the time . I really love the buck tale fishing in this video.
Great video, happy new year to you and Meg
Awesome Fish. Thank You For Sharing.
The big round ones sound like Permit.
Boy, the wind really is the big variable for so many outdoor pursuits.
African pompano maybe for the fish you saw similar to the spadefish.
African pompano in 10 ft of water lol
You need to get out to the channel by the old Bahia Honda bridge. It's around 25 - 30 feet there.
Dangerous with that current though in the yak. It ripssss there
The Snapper with the yellow tail was a School Master.
Take that Jack and cut it into s into stakes flour it fried real quick and then drop it in some tomato sauce let it cook for a little bit and then put it over white rice
those blue spots and the pale white triangle under his eye tells me thats a dog snapper over a schoolmaster but FWC says there almost the same fish XD
I always throw a little ProCure on my jigs or paddletails or whatever I am using around 7 mile bridge. It seems to make a big difference especially on larger fish…….justa little tip for the future!😎

@@flyfishizationjones4940 THATS EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS AND WHERE IT WAS. It looked like a "Predator" or "alien" version of a male sandflea.
Great video, Happy New Year!
Nice variety. Good work as always
Those Yellow Jack's are excellent eating. No limits. Awesome Shashimi.
Epic day and a beautiful location!
Great video as always! I would love to see a catching and cook yellow jack!
`Those results bode well for the rest of the trip. Wonder what a bucktail w/ Fishbite Crab chunk would do?
🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 my instant reaction when you pinched the tail and it was barely short! I knew with your expertise you were bound to come across a black grouper. Truly hope you’d catch a keeper size before the start of 2022! Happy New Years and keep up the amazing videos❤️❤️❤️
You started getting a different variety towards the end there....that was nice. Great fishing and video as usual!
Ty for the great content
Happy new year to you as well. Hey if you do get a grouper large enough let us know how it taste. It looks like a bass… so…
I’m loving these Florida episodes, being that I’m from Florida haha. Anyways love the videos from wherever you’re fishing
The water is so beautiful damn 🔥🙏
I live in Colorado and there’s literally nothing I want more than to just see the ocean and fish it 🙏

Just one time before my life ends I wanna do a trip like this
I just bought a kayak a few weeks ago and which Lawrence fish finder would you recommend for a 10-ft kayak
Great fishing 🎣 back-to-back like that. You have a wonderful New Year also EliasV.
Super day fishing! How many kayaks do you own? 👍🐟
We’re you fishing slack tide before the incoming ?
I really need to get down there and fish that bridge. Always wanted to

Looks like a Great way to spend the day. Really enjoyed watching you here. I'd add fishing in Fla. Keys to the Bucket list, But got to many things on the list already!
Great multi specie clip, love it!
Carful around them bridges when releasing fish … great video
Could those big round guys be trevali?
White grunt and a really nice size one, also really good eating 7 on a scale of 1-10
man

Yep. I would say it was a juvy cubera as well.
serious grunters - love it
All that floating grass seems like it would be a mess with a PDL drive.
It’s never really gave me all that much of an issue. Mats are a problem though lol.
Thanks!
Such a cool session
I wonder if the big fish you are talking about were permit. Kinda sounds like it. Or a moon fish?
There’s some huge Tiger Sharks below you at that bridge.
That’s was a school master snapper for sure. Good eats imo
Yellow jack also known as bar jack. They are good eating eating
I'm loving this excursion! Good fishing
You can NEVER go wrong with a simple rubber paddle-tail.
That’s jacked up!!
How is it you and Rich from FishAholic Fishing are both in the keys and there isn't a colab vid?? Y'all need to find each other down there, lol.
Cause rich is a googan?
Those are blue runners great to eat there's no limit for catch them
Great job !You are a down to earth guy .God bless
1:45
"I hate this storm."....
I thought he was talking about the weather before I remembered there's a lure company named Storm.
I believe it was a schoolmaster snapper and a bar jack, great video.
I believe that was Jill chasing all those Jacks...
What Kayak are you using now/
idk if anyone answered it yet but 8:58 fish is a Bar Jack
Tnx Elias, I really enjoy your videos!
I would be happy for your recommendation,
Jig head that i can use for grouper fishing in 30-40 m depth
