  • In todays video I wanted to make a quick tip style video where I show/ share any tips or gadgets that may assist you in the tattooing process. But Thanks for watching!!! A common question I get is how do I clean my needles before changing colors during a tattoo. So today I am going to show you my process for cleaning my needles. Remember once the tattoo is over you need to dispose of the needles in a sharps container. And for no reason should you ever reuse a needle.
    Hope you all enjoyed the video and if you did give it up a thumbs up and consider subscribing!!
    I like to remind people that In no way am I a fantastic tattoo artist guys. I just love tattooing but I am still on my journey and want to show you how its done so you can do it and do it better then me!! 🤘
    So don't give up if you want it bad enough its yours for the taking!

      If your using black a lot on a tattoo should you rinse in between? As in does the ink dry on the needle during work?

  • @PropDusting
    @PropDusting 4 роки тому +91

    There is another way that works really well. When you dip the tip of your cartridge into the rinse cup let the grip rest against the lip of the cup but, not in the water. It turns the rinse cup into a ultrasonic cleaner sending vibrations through the cup and cleaning the cartridge faster and more efficiently. Give it a try and let me know what you think. Thanks for the vids Bro!

      I know your comment it super old but I saw this to make sure using paper towels was fine. I was scared of the micro materials getting into the needle, but anyway! LOL I loved your comment, it makes so much sense. I will be trying that method from now on! Thank you 😀

    Thank you for your service. I'm a fellow tattoo artist/veteran myself. May I ask what is the name and make of your machine? I would love to try one.

    After you're done a tattoo and say its approx. 5-10 mins after you finished the piece, the ink is now dried onto the needle. Are you able to clean the needle of the dried on ink, place back into inventory and use again on another person?
    I would personally think that is a no-no but I am new and want to know this before I actually execute this idea. I was just going to dispose and buy new needles not realizing you can use distilled water to clean them.

    • @ArtSomething
      @ArtSomething  2 роки тому +1

      You can use distilled water to clean them off during the tattoo to keep them from getting clogged or what not, but no you cannot clean the needle off put it away and use it on another client that’s the worst thing you can do.I’m glad you asked the question before just doing it. Hope this helps and thank yiu for watching and supporting the channel.

    Hey brother, have to ask, what type of machine are you using?? I have a coil, it's been a pain, not sure if it's me or the gun, it's like it's trying to tattoo leather sometimes, always readjusting it, and recalibrating it.. Love some pointers as well... Thanks in advance

    When you clean it how do you stop it getting caught on the paper, and what does it mean if you try and clean it but it still has a lot of black stuck up in it, could it also mean im dipping ink wrong or too much.

    • @ArtSomething
      @ArtSomething  4 роки тому +2

      Sometimes you can get A&D or Vaseline in your tube with the ink and that can be a pain to get out. SO every so often
      I will clean my needles prolly only once during a 4 hour tattoo. but its good to try to keep the needle and tube clean as you work. And if you have the machine at a nice angle the needles should not penetrate or really hit the towel to much. Just enough to let the needles push the ink or water out of the tube. Well I hope this makes sense and I thank you for watching and supporting the channel!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘

  • @Denka187

    if your machine is always running , and you do black n grey tones - if that machines runs all the rime and you dip several times lets say little in the dark tone and then one dip in your lightest tone to get a different grey in between , would that muddy up the tones quick , lets say after 5 hours every tone would be the same and heal in just one grey tone ?

    Doing the same already but still switch needles for white, those 0,01% that stay in the needle arent a big deal in anything exept white or am I still doing something wrong maybe ? / how do you handle white ?

    • @ArtSomething
      @ArtSomething  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah a lot of times I would just get a fresh needle to do my white. But I have cleaned needles before and use them for white. Sometimes I think it just depends on what you were using the needle for prior to using white. Thanks for watching Losado appreciate support 🤘🤘

    I was always told to never use a paper towel to clean your needles as it leaves microscopic fibres between your needle configuration….to always use a medical sponge.

    Before we go to next color. There will be water in tip after dipping it right?? So, will that second color get lighter when it mixed with water which is already insdie tip??

    • @ArtSomething
      @ArtSomething  3 роки тому

      Thats why you need to dry the needle off on a paper towel to ensure the water isnt still in the tip when you dip into another color.
