TOMY PLEASE READ: This model needs a remote control for the many buyers that will want to display their model behind glass. Make it so people that want theirs behind glass so they don't have to actually touch the ship, this is very needed, and even $24 DVD players have a little remote control, so you can and should do that for the collector. Think about it, the pain of always having to open up the glass to touch a button, and they open it again to turn it off, that is a royal pain in the you know what, do the right thing. You're the mighty mighty Tomy crew, you can do it water boy. As Spock himself would say, it's only logical, now make it so or I'll come down there and give you all the Vulcan neck pinch, but don't worry in real life it only makes you pee a little. Yeah that was a little Vulcan humor sue me. No seriously, Do it, ok, DO IT!

My plan was just to have it on a remote control outlet like the rest of my Moducases. So when I walk into the room I reach into my remote control box and turn the room on with the displays as well. They sell them on Amazon. I think $30-40 bucks?

What a difference a year makes. The TOS Enterprise raised $1,786,250.00 with 2656 backers from June 6th thru July 25th 2022. The refit has has raised $2,600,619.00 with 2923 backers in 24 hours. Pretty amazing.
I think they started with the wrong model! The TOS is cool, but if I’m only going to have one, I want the refit!
@@DrawTheLine35 Well now everyone but the next gen people are happy. Maybe that'll be the third ship, that would make sense. You can bet with the success of the first two that we'll keep seeing them come up with something new, the public is loving this level of iconic collectable. They're special, the first one, this one, the next one, maybe we'll get a Klingon or Romulan ship someday, that'd be cool. I'm training a tiny monkey to fly the new one when it finally ships, already got the goggles and scarf. Hells yeah. Cheers.

@@freezedriedicecream Yeah the only real place to get one now is Ebay, and they've gone from $1200 to $1500 initially after they first appeared, to $2500 now. I had something weird happen, I also missed fund raising for the TOS, and for no reason at all I called Tomy in late Jan this year, they transferred me to their outlet store and I bought three of the TOS for $599 each with $30 shipping. I asked her If I'd just lucked out and she said yeah, things happen from time to time and most people never call to enquire, you called and we happened to have some. It was blind luck, but I'll tell you I pulled a muscle reaching for my wallet. I sold one for $2350 and I'll keep one, and still have another one to sell, but no reason to be in a hurry, they're not likely to go down in price any time soon. The really cool thing is the one I sold financed the Refit I'm getting, it's like winning the Star Trek lottery. My TOS is still in the box, I've working on the interiors of my house and need to finish before I get it displayed. Man I want to see it for real, lol. Sanding, painting, uggggg!

Yeah.. really hoping the saucer supports aren't necessary.. also maybe an internal battery so you could either have it plugged in or the option of having it unplugged occasionally. Even a tiny 1000mah battery would give it a few days unplugged. Thanks TOMY .. this is awesome!
from the Adam Savage video it looks like you can just attach a battery bank to it if that's what you want
If any TOMY employees are reading this. I think it would be best to have this controled by a remote for collectors that want to put this in a glass case.

I hope Tomy lays the led's in the nacelles horizontally and not vertically as seen in the prototype. The closer to perfection, the more supporters and purchasers for this will be so grateful and happier. I am ordering mine this month and will be daving for future ships. Domo arigato Tomy!

It's clearly going to be the D next, likely then a Bird of Prey or D7 ... which just gives some of us plenty of time to save up for the Excelsior.
I bought one, hope they can build and send before the upcoming global or civil war.
Here's hoping they take the lessons learned and do a TOS 2.0 down the road.

Ok, I have been waiting for a quality model of the refit Enterprise since I was a kid. Now that I have this preordered, they need to get to work on my next dream "toy"... the Millennium Falcon. Pretty please, Tomy? With sugar on top?
Bird of Prey next!!!
They really need to include the Travel Pod from the Motion Picture. It's too iconic with this version of the ship. To really drive it home make all of the docking ports magnetic so you can attach the Travel Pod to them. Do the same for the Vulcan shuttle for the docking port behind the bridge. I don't feel that would add a ton of cost on TOMY's end and would really set this apart.
The Surak does dock behind the bridge and it sounds like Tomy may or may not do more shuttle stuff for this one, given what Chris said in this interview.
I love this Enterprise, and would love to buy it, but no UK delivery, a real shame ☹
Actually you could buy it! You could use a forwarding service to send to the UK, but it would be expensive since this replica is about 10 kg or so and will be delivered by air freight. I also know a guy who is sending these replicas in particular to international backers. You can weigh your options, but it can be done and it’s not too late!

So I just thought about it. If TOMY is ever going to do the Enterprise-A, it would have to be at the same time the TMP version is coming out because they are making this only once and destroying the molds after. My guess is later on in the campaign we may be hit with some secret double-licensing that allows the backers a choice of let's say TMP Enterprise Refit or TUC Enterprise-A
My suspensions are not a choice, but another campaign started before shipping the Refit to utilize the molds. 😉
Once use is complete, expect the molds to be destroyed.
@@Danoby2 Oh man can you imagine all of the Enterprise-A fans who wished they got the heads up and have to re-order before the first one even came. Also the CoA for the TMP Enterprise would say something like “molds will be destroyed after we’re done with the ‘A’, we promise!” 😂
Nice model for a reasonable price but the heavy a$$ weight of being made from diecast metal is a game changer for me, too heavy and the finish is much too glossy. The main saucer section requires support rods to hold up the weight. Sound would have been a nice touch as well.
I'd be up for that after I invent a time machine to take it back to 79 and give it to me aged 10 :D
I wish they would offer the TOS again. I know it can be found on the secondary market but would prefer to get it from them.

I'm too much a bastard when it comes to realism, and the lighting is off some. Just is how I am.
Paramount global was just sold(In progress) to Skydance. So, any new models going forward are going to be contingent on all new negotiatons with Skydance. Not that any of this Matters with TOMY doing these limited run crap and blaming it on licensing. Im no genius but I would Imagine CBS would license these replicas for continual runs considering TOMY is doing all the work while CBS just has to sit back and collect their cut. No, sorry, they are doing limited runs so they can charge $800 bucks a pop. Continued manufacturing would reduce the price.
If yall make a 350-650 scale Enterprise E model (nemesis version) I would 100% put it in my living room.
Same with an Odyssey die cast. Id pay $$$ for one since model kits are far and few. Id build one myself but they run from 800-3000 USD
Connie and refit are lovely ships but I'm waiting to see Galaxy or maybe a Defiant class.
I preordered, but what's with those saucer supports? They weren't on any of the pre-launch photos that I can see. The website still shows non-support images (with of course the saucer tilting forward).

My bold prediction is that we're going to see a few surprises when they finally deliver. Just a hunch, they're making so much money on this fundraising period why wouldn't they throw in a few carrots. Maybe a couple of shuttle, and a more detailed shuttle bay, and that pod that Kirk and Spock flew in on.

If they would use more than 1 screw to hold on the saucer section they wouldn't need to support it with the stand. They have enough room there for 5 screws. Good lord.
I haven't pulled the trigger yet, I'm really worried that the nacel are going to have those obvious LED points of light. If they can diffuse that engine light, I think I'm in.
They have stated that the production model will have diffused lighting. Yay!

I don't know why these keep appearing in my feed but the number of flaws is astounding. Start with the lack of flare at the pylons. The positioning of the tabs along the spine is off......
