I would wear my own shirt, too, Mr. Higgins! I always look forward to your daily videos and have to admit, if you skip a day, I’m disappointed, but I will watch an older one to get my fix. ☺️ Take care, sir!

Past month or two I've been watching your videos almost daily. Been adding a lot of your recommendations to my ever growing list. You're review of Scott Walker's Bish Bosch popped up once long ago, and it's probably my favorite because most people I've heard talk about it are younger like me, but you're older to understand something in the music that myself and other reviewers couldn't quite get. Cheers.

Rip Martin. Flying Nun records had many great artists on their label through the years. These New Zealand bands were not easy to find at one point. At least where I lived.

Hi Dereck, I just heard late last night, that Martin Phillips of the Chills, has passed away unexpectedly.
I think this probably had something to do with his hepatitis C diagnosis, which left him with some compromised health issues.
This was all covered in the documentary he made a few years ago, which was screened here in New Zealand, and was repeated recently.
One of the contributors to that documentary, is someone who I actually know personally, and was a band member of the Chills, at the time that they were getting noticed.
Anyway, I thought this news may have gone under the radar, so I thought I'd let you know about it.
Also, I was pleased to see that you have a copy of the "Faction" album, which for me, is one that I enjoy quite a lot.
Although it's nothing special production wise, the tracks are both catchy and quirky, and have some very nice ambient passages, to contrast with the overall theme.
It's quite a unique little gem of an album I think.

Hey Dereck, Could not believe you mentioned WALLY COX. It was just last night I was watching the old MERV GRIFFIN SHOW video from one of several of his shows where PHIL SPECTOR was a guest. ( which was always interesting ) I am quite sure you have seen it. On this show the other guests were Eartha Kitt, Richard Pryor, and WALLY COX. Take care Dereck

Love's 'Forever Changes' is fantastic. Think I checked it out after Echo & the Bunnymen referenced them in an interview back in the day and fell for it immediately. Got some Faction and loads of Fad Gadget here, too. Bought my first Fad Gadget 7" when I was about 17 and saw them support Siouxsie & the Banshees (with Robert Smith on guitar!) the same age in '83! Frank Tovey was incredible live!

Forever Changes was way ahead of its time both lyrically and musically and I agree that Johnny Echols was instrumenta for the music on that album, Arthur was not really a musician, but his lyrics were definitely very strong on that album. There is an interview that Johnny Echols did with Dave Rubin on UA-cam that’s quite good.
