@@KT-bt2ed In America, the amount of fans has declined by a lot. Basketball and American football has taken over as the sport that young people watch. Unfortunately, it seems that baseball peaked in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Japan is amazing because the country still loves baseball.

Japan is definitely one of the top favourites to win this event they’re so good all around. Korea on the other hand is definitely the biggest letdown of the tournament so far, losing to Australia who they had no business losing to and getting crushed by their biggest rival. They have a lot of work to do and need China/Czechia to upset Australia for them to go through.
In South Korea, while soccer is growing in popularity, baseball is losing attention. In order for baseball to gain attention again in Korea, the results of the competition must be produced as soon as possible.
Funniest part is that many Koreans were relieved when the group was set, because other than the team's favorite Japan they thought they could handle others to advance next round. Just plain wrong. They are not pro. Only an overpaid bunch of pricks who has zero respect toward their fans who spend lots of money for them, just to be crushed by world stnadard.
I absolutely love the passion that international games bring, PLEASE WE NEED MORE OF THIS MLB.

Japan's NPB players are commonly extra motivated -- it's an opportunity to show their stuff to MLB scouts, playing directly against MLB players. Meanwhile the teams that are already filled with Major Leaguers approach the tournament as glorified spring training.
@@CognizantCheddar You're very wrong. What you've said only applies to Team USA. The Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Venezuelans, Mexicans are all full of ML players but they see WBC as the World Cup of baseball.
@@clubeyxander5132 You're very wrong that I'm very wrong. 1.) You're changing the subject, most of my comment is about Japan 2.) Mexico and Venezuela's rosters are not remotely filled with star MLers, DR has more, but also tops off with domestic talent from DR 3.) PR's eligible stars commonly fade the tournament just like team USA talent pool does

Korea didn’t play horrible, they gave 100 percent their best and this is the result when compared to Japan. I don’t know why so many Korean fans are criticizing their players. They just need to accept the current level of Korean baseball.
yes but you know wht? for sure, korean players think they are the same level to Japan players
I am Korean and I agree with that, but now Koreans are disappointed with the Korean players' ability to pay their salaries.
We still can't forget the 2009 WBC 2nd place.

One of my dreams is to watch a baseball game at the Tokyo dome.

As a Korean baseball fan, I would like to express my gratitude to the Japanese national team for reminding us of the terrible level of Korea. Unlike Korea, Japan is definitely developing. On behalf of Asian baseball, I hope Japan wins this WBC again.

The world needs more this international type baseball games to add more international fans everywhere! Can starting with regional champion competition such as Asia , Europe,Africa,South America, then world cup.
Most countries doesn't even know baseball exist
野球はお金のかかるスポーツであるため、ボールひとつでできるサッカーやバスケットボールのような人気は獲得できないでしょう。非常に残念です😢
It must be great for Ohtani to finally be back on a good team

As a Japanese, I am very pleased with your performance👍✨
asian baseball scene makes every game feel like it's a playoffs game and I love it! I wonder if we can bring the same NPB spirit to the MLB
I mean the stakes are pretty high this is pretty much a playoff game. What we need is more WBC. Maybe have it every 3 year?
@@richierich30001 A typical MLB game is nothing like a midseason NPB game which is quite unfortunate. They give off the same energy as college football games with loud band music, bat flips, and the fans chanting. MLB playoff games do come close though but we need the same hype throughout the year. MLB has so much to do to attract support from the younger crowd but these old heads aren't budging.
@@richierich30001 Also yes, we need even more WBC and I do hope it gets even more hype and support for years to come

In America, the amount of fans has declined by a lot. Basketball and American football has taken over as the sport that young people watch. Unfortunately, it seems that baseball peaked in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Japan is amazing because the country still loves baseball.
Well done Japan!!

Okay let me say what I saw 1. othani is the best player in the world we all know that. 2. Can’t wait to see yoshida play for my Red Sox already hyped to see him and devers this season most of the runs are gonna come from just them 2. And lastly who is this kondoh guy he’s a monster looks like he’s Altuve height and reminds me of Altuve he looks like the shortest player on the field but he can play like crazy and he power too
A few years back, Kondoh was hitting .400 for a few months until injury ruled him out for the significant part of the season. Really a BA and OBP monster
Kondo was Ohtani's teammate in NPB. He is a great player with high hitting ability and the dexterity to play multiple positions (catcher was his main job until right after he started his professional career).
@@tigeryo8943 .400 that’s insanely good I like his swing too looks smooth I really like the guy didn’t even know who he was but been watching a few highlights bc he really caught my attention. Might have to start watching more international baseball theres some crazy good players around the globe
@@ハントヴィクター ohh ok yeah it’s fun and cool learning about new players I didn’t even know about this guy is good like really good. I’m always watching just MLB or whenever the WBC comes but might have to start watching some other international league these guys can play especially in Japan most of there guys that come over to the MLB almost always have good successful careers. They play some good baseball over there
@@williamarroyo1497 MLB is the best league in the world. However, I assure you that NPB is not inferior to MLB. Although you may be confused by the unique atmosphere.
@@kingispark얘는 여기서도 보이네
Funniest part is that many Koreans were relieved when the group was set, because other than the team's favorite Japan they thought they could handle others to advance next round. Just plain wrong. They are not pro. Only an overpaid bunch of pricks who has zero respect toward their fans who spend lots of money for them, just to be crushed by world stnadard.

But soccer league in Korea is still less popular lol
