I just bought this based largely on your recommendation. I generally align with your tastes and your interest in more sophisticated scent profiles. I do love OMJM. As you said, it is dry, woody and a bit mysterious. I find that I catch different dimensions of the fragrances as I wear it during the day. The juniper, the hemlock, and the woods. I really love it and especially enjoy it outdoors.
Omg Pete, I just ordered a bunch of samples (Amouage enclave, Herod, Viking, and ormond jayne) and this was out of this world beautiful. It is ridiculous how good it is. So much better than kumkat wood. You nailed the comparisons
Full disclose. Watched this review awhile ago, and I recently found this perfume at a local niche store near DC and remembered your review. Smelt it in store and was amazed by how classy and smooth it was. Perfect scent for the fall. Immediately made a purchase, and it’s coming next week haha. Thanks for the recommendation! Totally agree
Just bought this one and remembered I saw your review a while back. You were totally right about this one. I can’t comment on it much though, I haven’t gotten to know it yet. A super wearable and pleasing woody scent, strong woods but somehow so soft like iris. Smells like a morning In southern Colorado forest
How does it compare to WOMAN -- which receives very similar critique from others that you've assigned to MAN. I guess MAN doesn't have the floral midnotes so much(?)
I can't say there's much similarity. Both woody yes, but Dior Homme is heavily based around cedar & iso e super which smell completely different from the hemlock and oud notes in ormonde man. I guess there's more a similarity in terms of occasion or FEEL - both suave woody scents for the refined gentleman.
I don’t know whether I accidentally got the woman’s fragrance, but the bottle I got has none of the woody touches, but all floral. Smells like an old lady’s fragrance and twice as powerful. There is no bitterness here, just a very strong floral scent. My bottle says Ormonde Man for what that is worth. Bought from Fragrancenet.

my go to is Zizan from this house i love the vetiver notes
Bought myself a decant on this, I look forward to trying it soon. :)
Edit: wow its rather unique! Smells like nothing else I have smelt and I agree the more you wear it the more you appreciate it.
Great Fragrance... I Love This One Too.

hey Doc i really like your reviews ...what do you think is there similarities between ormonde and new dior homme 2020 ?

Is it in the same realm of Terre d'Hermes?
Can you do a review of Ormonde Jayne Montabaco? I’m very interested in that one
Wow that seems like an interesting one and up my alley! I will have to get my hands on a sample
Is it redundant own this and custom national?
Is the scent profile comparable to French Lover somehow?
Not at all from my recollection of French Lover!
This is more of a sweet woody scent
