Hey guys, thanks for checking this one out! I'm glad y'all liked it so much!
And you are right - there is something with Månegarm and wolves. Månegarm is a Swedish way of writing 'Mánugarmr', which is an Old Norse word for 'Moon wolf'. Moon wolf is a mythical wolf from the Viking sagas, who runs across the sky chasing the Moon. When the wolf finally catches it, he eats the Moon and that's one of the signs of Ragnarök (Ragnarökkr) starting. Ragnarök is - VERY simply said - the end of the world and the entire universe in Viking mythology. I recommend digging into it just to have a rough idea what their texts are about, at least on the surface when you don't speak Swedish. And especially their latest album Fornaldarsagor (2019) is pretty much all about the most known sagas.
Anyways, I kinda saw myself in your reactions. My initial emotions when hearing this song for the first time. Cheers! 🤘🏻
And by the way - don't worry, no more name changes coming, at least for now 😝

Super happy you enjoyed this one too! I was aware that Ragnarok is the Viking Apocalypse but that's just about where my mythological knowledge ends, so thanks for all the insight. I might do some research I could use some culture hehe! By "known sagas" you mean sagas of the apocalypse?
Thank you very much for your support and I hope you have a G00D! / George

@@thewindmillfullovcorpses Not just about Ragnarök, I meant the Viking sagas in general, there are so many... About Norse Gods, about famous kings, about the old lands, mythical or historically known battles... All kinds of stuff. Even if you're not into the Viking culture itself, I think I would recommend reading through some of the sagas as they are quite entertaining I'd say. There are shortened versions around the internet too. Check out Snorri Sturluson and his books, those are probably the most known ones.

Ragnarök is not the end of the world. Sure, it's the end of most of the gods and well... Their world. But it's also a new beginning for soo much else. Both the end and the beginning of a circle.

@@Nanakiyami That's why I said "very simply said". I of course know that after the events of Ragnarök happen, there will be two survivors in Midgard who will breed and start a new, better world. That's also why I encouraged further research, it would be way too long of a comment if I was to say it all.

@@vozmajster1011 Yes I got that part from your comment. I just like to point out this to people as a common misconception is to equate ragnarök with the christian term of armageddon which is a completely different concept. You on the other hand already knew this. But more information for the masses can't be bad right?

Okay I keep getting new bands to listen to from this channel. That's what I get for being in a little bubble all my life. But this song gives me if Change on The Rise by Avi Kaplan was metal and swedis vibes

@@thewindmillfullovcorpses Hey George! Avi Kaplan is the name of a singer. He was once the bass singer of Pentatonix but left a few years back. He released his own work that's Folk music and MAN I'd reccomend it. He is amazing. Favorite song of his is Get Down. That's the vibes I get from the band. The vibes here of amazing. Yall are damn well hilarious. Cheers!

    Yeah another managarm!!🤩
I think I’ve mentioned before that I looove Manegarm!
And again, if you listen stuff from their last album, it sounds exactly like that, but a little bit heavier I might say.. or battle-ish.. or more upbeat hahaha
They started to get folkier with this album and the last! That’s why I love them the most!
It does have a Wintersun vibe in this song, kind of epic
    adventure style🤩
I really enjoy their stuff and they are perfect to find energy for a heavy workout!
    Awesome review guys as always!!🤘

Oh, working out to this would be incredible. But I'd also need to find the time, which is getting difficult. We'd love to hear more, especially of the more folky stuff. I think those are more my thing from what I heard thus far. But that can change, with Arkona for example I'm more into their black metal stuff. Anyway, thank you so much for watching! I appreciate you lots. /Andrei

You really should react to Månegarm - Odin Owns Ye All 🤘🤘🤘

The cover is a killer, the guitar sound is a killer ! It sounds a bit Celtic. I like it, Andrei apparently does too. George is a harder "audience" to convince, even if you can see that he appreciates it at the end, you can see him more happy, with the "Thumbs up" and release his reaction. Thanks guys. #CorpsesOut

This was decent, I think I'm with you both on the folk metal thing, I think the folkiest metallic stuff I tend to dig is probably the US Doom band Chalice and bits of Smoulder, and I think it's just cos folk is normally synonymous with happy/silly power and happy symphonic metal and that's not really my thing in the first place. Normally doom metal is how folk will leak into my metal. Most of the folk stuff I like is folk-punk stuff like Swingin' Utters, early Dropkick Murphys and a few others. I dig me some Arkona too though, very cool band (Big sunglasses...ahem). I've looked into Manegarm before, I like what they do though it probably wouldn't be a heavy rotationer for me. I really dig their multiple vocal styles tho, that's the thing I really like about them.

Tbh I've been able to get into the likes of Eluveitie and Manegarm, and Arkona is literally the best folk metal out there, massive respect to those mofos! Heard a bit of Dropkick Murphys as well but never tried the outers you mention. Thanks for tuning in brother! /Andrei

@@thewindmillfullovcorpses Controversial opinion, I always liked the 'Utters more than Rancid or Dropkicks in the 'boozy punk' bracket. Would definitely try out Pills and Smoke or The Next in Line for a first punt at them. Definitely need to get deeper into Arkona, although I think it being completely in a language I don't speak slightly slows me down with it.
